  4. Sources are saying Machinator's last words were as follows: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Message boards on fire due to coaching rumors. I watched crystal balls glitter in the dark near Belmont. All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

  6. I’ll always respect and appreciate Gerald Wilbon for what he said when he committed. He talked about understanding the value of a Texas degree and the importance of getting it and basically improving his lot in life. It was a good understanding for an 18 year old from the hood, and I’m glad to see he followed through by doing his academic work. I hope he has great success next season and in life.

  8. <Taylor> If you can't sell Texas A&M, you should sell Real Estate. And if you can't sell Real Estate, you can sell subscriptions to an online recruiting service. And if you can't sell subscriptions to an online recruiting service, you can sell subscriptions to a Facebook page. And if you can't sell subscriptions to a Facebook page, you can sell swimming pools. And if you can't sell swimming pools, you can sell temp jobs. And if you can't sell temp jobs, you probably went to Texas A&M. </Hamm>

  9. I highly recommend the expat lifestyle. It's amazing how much less stressful my life has become since fleeing the US for the Czech Republic last week. Instead of being inundated with Trump's stupidity I now have to actively seek out his latest shit-baggery, I also don't have to fear mass shootings, worry about the national debt, or going bankrupt if I get sick...oh, and people actually care about the environment and what goes in their food. It's quite refreshing. The GOP, gun nuts, and Evangelicals used to scare me...now I can just laugh at their stupidity from afar.

  10. Following up on this to say how proud I am of our daughter. She did not get in to Plan II, Dean's Scholar, or even Jefferson Scholars upon admission but did get into 1 of only 50 spots in Environmental Science. She was not having it, especially since her two older brothers are both Plan II. So she applied to and got into the Freshman Research Initiative (FRI) and then worked her butt off to make a 4.0 this Fall semester. Got the head of the Environmental Science program to write a letter of rec for her and then re-applied to Dean's Scholar. She found out this morning that she was accepted into Dean's Scholars. I can not say enough how proud I am of her. She did not take no for an answer and made it happen. I didnt even know you could re-apply. And yes, our kids take after their mom. thank God!

  13. So wife stepped back from her career last year, so that she could focus on spending time with the kids and other shit that doesn't involve generating income. I told her to start thinking about business ideas in the background and shit. Haven't really pressed the issue. She comes to me today and has the next great idea. There have been a few others. None really viable. This one is a laundry wash and fold service. It took me a moment to digest. She did not particularly appreciate the suggestion that she pilot the service in our own fucking house for some reason.

  15. Vacuum flasks actually have a legitimate purpose, outside of trying to killing people. The police, supported by the Swedish society, did say they were taking steps to reduce access to guns and explosives after a teenager was killed in gun violence. You only think that extreme because you are using America as a baseline. In America, we watch a gunman use assault weapons to gun down dozens of kindergartners, and we accepted it without any additional restrictions on the access to these weapons. That's our baseline, so everything else appears extreme. People will use the most effective tools available to do a job. If they don't have access to fully automatic weapons, they will use semi-automatic assault weapons. But it will be less effective. If they don't have access to semi-automatic assault weapons, they will use semi-auto weapons without some of those defining characteristics assault weapon characteristics. But it will be less effective. If they don't have access to semi-auto long guns, they will use other guns. But it will be less effective. If they don't have access to any guns, they will use vacuum canisters with explosives, knives, cars, baseball bats, etc.. But it will be less effective. No one thinks reducing access to more effective weapons will eliminate murder or make people get along. It will just make their ability to kill others less effective. That's the goal. We are tired of incompetent virgins having the ability to murder dozens of innocent people without much effort. And that trend (the effectiveness of weapons) will get worse as technology improves without any new regulations. There is a reason that bombing is not the preferred means in the US - because it's not very effective. Consequently, the Swedish murder rate is about a fourth of the US rate. So it does make a difference. Better is not perfect, but is still worthwhile.

  17. so you're saying that these explosions (which are disconcerting and it sounds like sweden's law enforcement is being tasked with focusing on it) that have resulted in no casualties are consuming your concern trolling for sweden (who has averaged 92 homicides TOTAL per year since 2002) but the 39,773 deaths from guns in our country each year is nothing to concern ourselves with - and only a fucking libtard communist would think that some stricter laws enforcing who is able to acquire such weapons was appropriate. seems genuine.

  18. You misspelled "if". I'm not going to be shocked if he wins or loses. But mostly, Trump voters like this guy. Mr. Drawe, 69, doubts the wall will do much to stop illegal immigration, and though he supports the president who ordered it, he believes that the construction will “ruin” his life. But selling the land early on seemed better and cheaper than facing the government in court, only to have it take the land anyway, he reasoned. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/26/us/politics/trump-border-wall.html - Acknowledges Trump #1 policy will ruin his life - Believes it will do little in achieving its objective - Continues to support Trump That's who I mostly blame. Morons.

  24. After watching the tape, the Dunson guy didn't have the requisite wheels for them to be excited. They're stupidly late but all in on Rakestraw. If Bama wants him, he's probably theirs. Texas has the best shot otherwise. Savion Williams is visiting TCU this weekend, but Texas wants him ... now. Hoping to get him in. High confidence in where things stand with Umanlymanlymaniaman and Collins. Should get Dixon. They want/need 2 more WRs in this class. Nobody has a strong grip on where Bradford's head is. Texas would take him. Javonne Shepherd was begging to rejoin the team after figuring out there was low interest in the market outside of ATM. Hard to let him back in after firing the ol'double aught 0.0 though. I'll tell the Evans story on the non-UT 2020 thread. Let me know if there's a name you're curious about. I don't take notes, so I might remember something otherwise.

  34. Caught up with a friend of mine involved with recruiting and has seen a lot of the 2021 first hand already. Depressing shit as it pertains to the Brocks. I can't really go further but I came away glad that whoever was whining about them on this thread didn't bet me on where they'd sign. The Wykoff guy is a good take as a swing guy. Still likes Byrd a ton at OT and thinks Texas gets him. They really like the Cooks kid and were on him early. The overly bulked up guy at Duncanville with the torn ACL is overrated. Landon Jackson is a good high quality player, top 150 type, but think the services are overrating him a bit. Thinks Wheaton is overrated for reasons off the field, which is becoming a bigger deal to more schools. It's going to be a headache recruitment. Alternatively, he likes LJ Johnson just fine as a highly talented RB1 take. Jackson and Burris might both actually be leaning Texas a little right now. Montgomery is a good take by OU. Texas will sign a full class or really close to it. Lincoln Riley thinks next season will be his best team and says they're winning the title. Brewster to ATM thing was salary pumping. Herman showed no interest, for whatever that's worth. The Denton Ryan commits are fucking studs. They're still trying to figure a lot of shit out about 2021 and are doing a lot of hustling in that regard now. The new offensive approach from Yurcich means there are some open questions on direction for player type at the WR position. Valai suspicions confirmed. We'll see how it rolls out. I'll post 2020 stuff on the other thread.
