Maybe chill a bit Brazilyanash. The 2021 class doesn’t have a ton of momentum, but we already have a solid foundation and this can easily turn into a great class. In the last three classes, only 29% have been 3 stars, and that includes kickers and JUCOs. When you take those guys out, the number drops to like 23%. And blaming Herman for needing GTs on the OL doesn’t make any sense. He was left with horrible personnel to work with and OL take time. It was a great move by him to recognize the needs and go address them with GTs. I don’t know how that can be seen as a negative against Herman. This year will be the first year we don’t need a GT, JUCO, or true freshman to start, and that’s solely because of this coaching staff’s OL recruiting and development, including identifying a 1st round OT and a 3 year starter at OT and C in his transition class.16 points

GTFO with that shit. This class has a bunch of ELITE motherfuckers in it already. Sanders. Bowman. Milroe. Thomas. Harris. Conner. Blackwell. Looking really good for Ibraheem and maybe even Mukuba (who is drastically underrated IMHO). Add in a fucking awesome moldable piece of clay like Juan Davis and a ProKick P in Pearson. Yes, it's a fucking hot mess at OL and RB. No, I have no idea what will happen at either spot but the core of this class is fucking incredibly talented. Last season was the first time we haven't done this in a fucking decade. It's part of why I am bullish about where we are. Guys that used to not only go on the 2-deep but actually start as FR are getting to RS and develop.11 points

Trump literally did NOTHING but: 1) use violence to remove peaceful protesters for a photo op 2) use violence to remove personnel OF THAT CHURCH from the scene 3) stand in front of a church THAT DIDN'T FUCKING WANT HIM THERE 4) walk over there, stand with a bible (held upside down) for a few seconds, then walk back....he didn't even pray, or bow his head, or speak general words of comfort. So, yeah, TOTALLY comparable to people who knelt for the exact amount of time that it took George Floyd to be murdered, in the building where they actually work, before they headed off to do their jobs. Jesus you people are stupid fucking cunts.11 points

I'm not mad at anyone. I think of surly as a bar where friends can gather and talk about things. Sections of the bar are reserved for different discussion. To me people like Pam are the equivalent of someone coming over to the "bar discussion" area with a bullhorn and informing everyone what is important even though 87% of those people do not want to discuss the political part of it. Nicole is completely correct. More than one person has told me they have left and have not come back due to the political bickering. A normal person wouldn't interject their political views into a discussion of people at the bar next to them, but they feel the need to do that here for some reason and it drives me nuts.9 points

I got a football recruiting letter from Sacred Heart. When coach asked if I was interested, I said "I'd rather go to UT and get too fat for girls to be interested anymore," and that's exactly what I did. Follow your dreams.9 points

We are having a discussion about how to better moderate the board and you are interjecting your political opinions into it. The utter disregard for decorum and knowing when and where people would like too discuss such things simply confirms the fact that you are a fucking idiot oblivious to those around you and a compelling need to get everyone to think exactly like you do.8 points

I’ve talked about it before, but his arm motion is basically perfect. Quick release with power and no wasted motion every time. On top of that, he has an incredible arm. The only thing he really needs to work on is avoiding over-striding before the throw and keeping his plant foot closed and towards the target. He opens it up way too much, which makes it so he can’t fully drive off his back foot, because doing so would drive his body away from the throw. When you watch his back foot drive in his throws, you can see a lot of inconsistency. Sometimes he’s not even pushing off his back foot until the ball’s almost out. RoJo also struggled with syncing up his weight transfer to power his throws in HS. This forces him to generate all his power from upper body torque and arm Movement. He has a good enough arm to get away with that, but the thing that suffers when you do that is accuracy and consistency in motion, which is evidenced by him completing only 56% and 61.8% of his passes the last two years, which is low for a top 100 QB prospect. Im not very concerned about it, because he’s shown improvement over the last year, and it’s something that can be fixed at the next level, especially since he should be getting a redshirt year. He actually shows some of the best form I’ve seen from him in this video, which is good to see, but if you look at the very last throw at :53, you can see the problem. Once he starts moving and muscle memory kicks in, he takes too big of a stride with his plant foot and his foot is way to the left of where he’s throwing. He needs to dial in his stride and direction of his plant foot so he can get full drive off his back foot every throw and then his accuracy will improve. Hudson Card’s actually a great example of the right mechanics. If you watch his videos, his feet are always shoulder width apart in his stance and he plants and drives in one fluid motion with almost identical strides very time. He’s also got the timing of his movements down perfectly so his back foot push powers his throwing motion every time and he releases the ball extremely quick. That is a low fucking bar. lol. I do think Milroe’s a great prospect and he’s absolutely got the athleticism to fix his footwork and become more accurate. You’d way rather have a guy who needs or improve his footwork than Re-do his entire throwing motion.8 points

My wife was looking for something the other day and came across a cuckoo clock that her sister had bought for her as a gift 20 something years ago. She immediately goes into, "Where am I going to put this cuckoo clock?" mode. She furiously searches the house for 6 square inches of unused wall space, which is no easy task. She eventually decides to stick it in the guest bathroom. Then she decides that it would look too busy in there with the wallpaper. Then she starts really looking at the cuckoo clock more closely, and comes to the realization that it kinda sucks, is too small and rather cheap looking. Then of course she decides she needs to shop for a new cuckoo clock and eventually buys one. Then the new cuckoo clock shows up in the mail and now she can't figure out where she wants to hang it up. Because it's much, much bigger than George Floyd. Part of it is a frustration across the board with how this country is policed - from black felons to white traffic violators, vice versa and everything in between - cops fucking suck to deal with and everyone is sick of it. Our prison system is not out to reform anybody. People are still incarcerated for marijuana crimes. Lawyers are expensive. Dealing with courts sucks. Drug charges are blown out of proportion and simply being charged with anything is a huge pain in the ass - while cops have had and still have basically zero repercussions for charging/arresting/detaining/tasing/pepper spraying all the way up to fucking shooting and killing people. The wealth gap and income inequality in this country has destroyed the middle class. Kids are held to higher standards, school (and basically everything along with it) is more expensive, virtually no single earner can support a family without living paycheck to paycheck or in debt. We value the wrong shit. We obsess over meaningless garbage. Instead of doing the right thing we do the politically correct thing. No one thinks for themselves - we consume information at an unfathomable rate in the context of human history and most of the time we never stop to think about it. I don't give a fuck who you vote for: our president is a self absorbed lunatic. Our politicians are too white, too wealthy and too old (and that includes people like Pelosi and Biden). The right is too far right and the left is too far left. And this is all ignoring the fact that we may very well be in the midst of irreversible environmental devastation. The world is less transparent and scarier than it's ever been and the working class is fed up with the folks running the show. (plus Texas hasn't had a great season in over a decade)7 points

I wouldn't say that. We have to show that we can at least provide hope for similar results year-to-year as Bama, while allowing mom and the whole fam to watch their games and cheer for the team they've always cheered for.7 points

@Burt Macklin covered a lot of ground in his summary -- I agree with his assessment that the arm angle, delivery, ball position, follow through, etc ... is all really good. If you watch the first few throws of that video and then compare them with the later throws, where he has a simulated rush coming for him, you can get a microcosm view of the small things that they will be cleaning up. You can tell that in the early part of the video that he is working on rotating with his upper body. Note that he is focused on lead shoulder and rotation to throwing shoulder - looking out over his finish arm and holding an exaggerated finish. The issue is that during this work, his base (his feet) are way too wide during these reps. It makes it much harder to rotate, his hips, and forces the arm and shoulder to do more work because the legs aren't carrying their share. You want them to be just over shoulder width -- which he does and you can see in the later throws where he gets into "football" mode as opposed to "learning" mode. when his base is underneath him, his rotation is much faster - his hip (and hence lead shoulder) doesn't fly open as early and you can see him really driving the ball. I suspect he doesn't have as much baseball background as a lot of other QBs. The baseball background will help with all of this stuff but it usually creates some footwork issues that Jalen doesn't have. He's a badass and he's going to be be so good - he's not going to have any problem cleaning this stuff up.7 points
