Burr can kick rocks for taking money from the Saudis to perform there. What a worthless clown. Actually all of them that performed in Riyadh and took the money are all one and the same.15 points

This was absolutely brilliant. Ukes knew boot up and target acquisition time on Russian AA, even knew exactly where to hit, and the time it took valves to close. This was Russia's big chemical plant that makes the propellent for rocket engines, and ammonium nitrate for artillery shells. CHIEF12 points

Donβt really care for the sentiment there right now Bobby. I think people are reacting fairly to what weβre seeing on the field, which is horrific.12 points

This sweet girl is crossing the rainbow bridge today. She was technically my in-lawβs dog, but we raised her as a puppy and she also spent the last two months of her life with us exclusively when the in-laws couldnβt really take care of her anymore. She was two months shy of her 14th bday, so she had a full life. One of the sweetest labs Iβve ever known. Love you Cray.11 points

Yeah, it's stupid to try to make it about healthcare. We need some idiots to learn from touching the stove that touching the stove is bad and they shouldn't do it again. Last Trump admin Dems worked to alleviate the effects of his policies on millions of voters and got no credit for it. He just slapped his name on the checks they had worked to pass. There are lots of people who need to experience the results of what they voted for. It'd make more sense, and would have better public appeal, to simply say that Dems are in the minority and have no control over the outcome, but that they will not co-sign a lawless dictatorship that steals from taxpayers for his own purposes and benefit. But they're so fucking policy brained they can't help themselves.11 points

Its crazy to think people don't understand this its like that meme about opening the marriage and it not working for them but maybe it will for us. This all has the same endgame. Trump being elected was the true sign that we are solidly in the fourth turning and had the opportunity to change things because we knew what was happening. Kamala would have sucked relative to great presidents, but relative to what we are experiencing she may as well have been <insert your argument for best president ever> Trump is so fucking bad it is actually going to end America, that's where this ends and its so fucking obvious.11 points

I was coming to post something similar. I think the Dem strategy of using healthcare as their battle cry in this is falling on deaf ears. Maybe it's just me, but in my world, no one is walking around talking about healthcare. I don't think most people even understand what a shut down is or what the healthcare argument is about. If I were the Dems, I would be just hammering the fact that the Rs control the government entirely and they shut it down. Full stop. That's the argument. They are so inept that they can't keep the government they fully control open. Prices are still high. Don't vote for these dopes again. But nope, we are going to try and get into the weeds on a tax credit for healthcare that 95% of the nation doesn't even understand. Cool.10 points

I saw another recent video describing how Russia is getting a large amount of their artillery shells from North Korea due to Russian inability to manufacture enough on their own, and this is before the destruction of the ammonia facility. Just like NATO providing older kit to Ukraine, it turns out that North Korea is not willing to give Putin their good stuff, but are instead giving them their older artillery shells. Apparently 50% of fired Nork shells are duds, rather significantly impacting the effectiveness of Russian artillery.9 points

Good piece that really shows the absurdities and contradictions, and anti-intellectualism of the "compact." Author is a prof at UVA and a UT grad. https://newrepublic.com/article/201376/trump-compact-academic-excellence-university-virginia j9 points

Konstantin says that he spoke with a Russian acquaintance who owns a freight company who confirmed that they are not shipping anything right now - - because his trucks canβt buy enough fuel to ship the contracted goods - - and even if they have enough gas to go on a delivery, they may not be able to buy gas to get back. Is that good? Because that doesnβt seem like itβs a good thing.9 points

Iβm exhausted with comedians. Iβm tired of the schtick of the brave and unfraid truth-teller, when the consequences for telling jokes that donβt land or behaving poorly is a canceled Netflix series or ostracism. Guess what, if I tell edgy jokes at work or harass people I might get fired or excluded too. I do appreciate the ability to wrap difficult truths in humor but guess what: thatβs actually a defense mechanism, you can always hunker down behind βI was joking, Iβm a comedian.β There are people who make a pittance and put their livelihoods and sometimes lives on the line to tell difficult unvarnished truths; they are called investigative journalists. Offensive/provocative and dangerous to power are two different things and the Venn overlap isnβt that big. Bill Burr, who can be funny, can get fucked. It takes zero courage to be funny and also non-misogynistic and racist. And I like that he is those things and Iβm glad our society has rewarded talent that doesnβt shit on others with lucrative renumeration. But that wasnβt enough, he also needed to be remunerated by a bloody, woman-hating, racist, theocratic nightmare family and then he tells me in Variety why this is cute cultural exchange. Actual truth tellers about Saudi get cut up into little pieces. Oh, itβs actually not that bad, you say? The only rules are βno jokes about the royals or about religion,β and that sounds reasonable. Here, let me translate: βyou can joke about anything except the pillars of our rapacious and oppressive system of power.β Vladimir Putin has similar rules to appear on his TV. Thatβsβ¦.not really a concession.9 points

Per 3-11-2025 interview: As a result, the Longhorns will have fewer contact periods and more teach periods with more controlled scrimmages instead of going for 140 plays. βJust a little bit of a shift philosophically, as I touched on even back in December, actually, when I first brought this up. The NFL model is such that I think that they teach really well, and itβs something as Iβve studied those guys and Iβve gotten around them here the past few years β you guys know I like to do that in the springtime is go see NFL teams β is making sure weβre teaching really well, making sure that weβre developing and growing as a program, and not just our young players, but really developing our older players to be really dialed into the details of what weβre trying to do. And so again, I feel like you have to in this day and age, be adaptable and not be afraid of change and I think this is an area where we can grow as a program to be better suited for the challenges of the schedule as we know what it was here last season,β Sarkisian said.9 points
