This video makes me so angry.  The fact these coaches get paid so much money only to produce the kind of garbage we are seeing.  How the fuck was none of this obvious during the off-season?

$1.4M a year...

The only thing I can think of is Kyle Flood lied to Sark but he's the fucking HC so idk how he didn't realize with his own eyes that this was the #1 weakness of this team

I’m with you. I think many are pointing to our “soft NFL offseason” where we didn’t really hit in practice too much, because we were planning for all of the CFP games we were gonna play this year. Hard to know which of the big uglies are good if they aren’t battling good on good.

As an aside, I went to the same high school and graduated same year as Ian Boyd. I think we had a debate class together senior year. Happy for him that he’s able to make a living writing/providing analysis on Texas football.

Who was the last good OL coach we had? McWhorter until he quiet quit after 05? I think it was Jimmy Johnson who said OL coach is the most important person on a staff, and it's been a steaming pile of shit for 2 decades now.

Tony Hills just went OFF on Coffee and Football this morning.  Got damn.  Get that man in the locker room for a pep talk.

Powderpuff.  lol

Tony and Gerry are both disgusted.  Gerry is not optimistic at all that this is going to turn around.

It seems to me that OL is the one part of the team that is the least amenable to quick fixes via the transfer portal, and no amount of NIL money can fully mitigate this.  Traditionally the best programs have had OL "pipelines" where freshmen, no matter how promising, tended to redshirt and take a year to eat massive quantities of food, work out, and learn the system.  The guys actually playing are upperclassmen who have been in the program for 3+ years.  Even if you can rob an all-star OL from a lolpoor school, he still will need time to integrate into the program to be fully effective.  That just seems to be the way it is

It is completely amenable to quick fixes. We just choose not to go after any OL because... uh... Stroh was going to magically become competent over the summer I guess?

You know Stroh is getting the brunt of the hate and being the whipping boy.  He doesn't have a lot of experience though.  What are DJ Campbell's and Cole Hutson's excuse for blocking air though?  Those guys have had plenty of reps and refuse to get a hand on anybody crossing their face.  We are so passive on the line it's ridiculous.  We need to open the OU game hitting people and with some attitude.  HIT SOMEONE EVEN IF IT'S THE WRONG COCKSUCKER!

Oh my God.

Let me guess, you think the solution to all of our problems is for a half in the bag Kasey Studdard to yell at the team in the locker room about letting their nuts hang, right?

I think the point of the video was for Scip to say this is how the OL is being taught. I hate to say that, because it is a much worse case scenario than saying player X needs to improve.
