Imgur Picture Links Dead

I'm just guessing, but I think Bob may be trying to use their links and rewrite them so they'll embed here. I think imgur like it's better if they're embedded (twss).

Those screenshots I posted in #210 were the way you did in on Shaggy (with the bbcode). We can't do that here, yet ... I think what Bob is trying to do is take a URL like https://imgur.com/eXCwsLu and convert it into something like this:

<blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="eXCwsLu"><a href="//imgur.com/eXCwsLu">Pirate Pupper</a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The only thing you'd have to do is paste imgur.com/eXCwlLu into the message. It's now working like that just yet.....

Bongos: you can upload images to imgur without signing up. Just click "New Post" in the top left corner of imgur. You can either paste the address of the image or  upload from your computer.

In the other thread, NMAS mentioned uploading images from TAPA instead of going thru imgur. I haven't used TAPA for that very much, so I don't know if it's easier.

I wrote a script and have been testing it on this thread.

I'm not happy with it and am trying a few different things out.

if something isn't showing up in this thread it's either because I haven't run the script since it was posted, or the script didn't catch it. I'm modifying the script to catch all cases, and to not break images that are already working.

and yes, it changes from <img src="imgur.com/asdas.jpg> to the blockquote, which seems to work here

Bob I recall some email exchanges from somebody a few pages back with imgur.  Owner/mod of the site? If not perhaps you or the owner could start a discussion with them.

It is very odd they consider this forum would be considered a selling site, or at least that is what I picked up when I read it.

I'm having good luck using https://imgbb.com/

I registered with imgbb but i haven't had any luck getting any of my pictures to embed to Surly posts. Would you be so kind as to walk me through the steps. You can talk to me like I'm a child because I seem to be when it comes to this. Fuck photobucket in the ass for making me learn something new.

On the front page, click Upload to upload an image from your computer, or you can copy an image (Ctrl+C) and then paste it on the front page of imgbb by hitting Ctrl+V.

On the next page select BBCode Full Linked if it's not selected, and then click COPY (bottom right in this image) to copy the image link and paste it to Surly.

Testing something with imgur.

So, one thing to consider.  When you see someone who still insists on using imgur, and you click the link to view the image and get an error message, you can change the .jpg extension to .jpeg in the address bar and see the image.

/or just use imgbb
