My kids were so little then that instead of paying for a seat donation I was doing those FlexPass season tickets that were essentially  "buy tickets but pick the week of the game what seats you get" deals they had at that time since we left by half time most games. At the time, I thought it was the best deal ever, since I didn't have to pay any seat donation but still got in to see most of the games for like $25 per ticket.

If I was smart I would have gotten better seats as an investment in the future, but didn't think that way at the time.

I see lower level west side seats available right now (sec 2 and sec 7). I have to wait until May 2 to pick though, crossing my fingers!

I’m in section 7 row 50 and have thought about moving to the four currently open in row 46 solely because of one drunk idiot who annoys the shit out of everybody in his immediate vicinity. Think I will stay put though even if they are still open when I pick this Friday.

Yeah we used those years to move around until we found the area/price we liked best. Section 11, above the concourse on the aisle.

My tenth year of tickets and we’ve had same group of season ticket holders around us for almost all of those years.  Great group of people.  It’s fun to watch kids that were 8 or 9 during that first year be students now themselves.  Sec 8.

i initially only had 2 because my girls were little, but then when i decided to increase to 4 i lucked out. 4 on the aisle came open (heard from the people around me that they likely may have died as they were older)... section 9 under the overhang.

never giving these seats up

This year is my final year of young alumni seats. I’m already in the lowest row, 13, that is still young alumni for section 130. I’m hoping to move over a section closer to the 50. After I finish young alumni, I’ll probably keep the same seats until I don’t like the heat.

What are "young alumni" seats?

Still LBJ lot parking left as of 3PM. I’ll sell these for aggy, make back my $305 for the season, and park there for free the rest of the year…

man, I am so glad I got in during the Johnny Mac era.

Yep, we knew winning and moving to the SEC would have an impact. But it looks like season tickets are going to be hard to come by going forward.

I jumped in when they opened the Terrace and Touchdown clubs which was 2008 I think. I feel like ticket prices back there were high 300s versus what are now $800 while donation level has only slightly jumped.

I got my bench seats and parking, but does anybody know when the seatback upgrade option is available?  I didn't see it when I picked my seats.

I didn't see it either - I wonder if it is because they are still sorting out fixing the shitty sagging seatbacks from last year?

I noticed when I was adding a few seats for some fam this morning that there was one solo Terrace club seat left.

Just did my selection. No club seats, not even Terrace Club, available. Well, Longhorn Lounge was available, but I don't really consider that a "club" since there is no conditioned space attached to it, just out of the sun space.

So, for future reference, unless you selection time is in the first two days, you won't get any club seats. If your selection time isn't on the first day, all you'll be left with is Terrace club.

I did move into the West Side Chairback (from baking on the east side - so at least I'll have shade for most games), so I did improve my seats, but still not happy about the club seats not being available.

3 seats in the Terrace Club just opened up FYI.

I called the longhorn foundation shortly after your post and someone had already snatched them.

The seat selection process seems like a flawed system. My selection time already occurred so I picked the best seats available at that time but wasn't able to get anything in the club sections. You can't view the available inventory after selecting seats, so there really isn't a feasible way to change to better seats if something comes available later. I guess next year my strategy will be to not select seats right away and just keep checking periodically for new inventory.  The only downside to that strategy would be potentially missing out on an LBJ parking lot pass.

the question is how long your current tickets stay locked to you if you don't select them and pay for them right away.  Is there some time limit in which you have to decide or lose them?

I have not selected and as far as I know you don't actually have to complete this process. Doing nothing just auto renews your current seats. It's only if you want to select parking.

Yeah you decided in March (?) whether or not to renew the seats; this process is just the opportunity to change them if you want. Do nothing and they just give you the same seats you already commited to. As pointed out, if you want parking you have to select it - that does not auto-renew.

When should we expect our tickets to be available for transfer? I donated my Arkansas tickets to a charity fundraiser.

I’m confused. I paid the donation amount required and still didn’t get get tickets. Anyone in the same boat?

What did they say minimum was for OU? I got in but think my 30+ yrs of minimums helped. Maybe points based?

I got left out as well after bumping up my donation a good bit from last year. I am assuming it's because I requested 3 tickets vs the 2 tickets I asked for last year.

That’s close to where I am…must have been total point related. Crazy but this is year 30 for me on season tickets…just saw that in my account.

It's because you didn't charge your phone.

Sorry, those are the rules the LHF just made up.

Man that’s some fucking bullshit. You’re getting squeezed out because high money donors can buy more seats than they used to be able to to sell the surplus and defray the cost of their tickets. I’m a capitalist at heart, but once they expanded seating at the cotton bowl you basically were guaranteed OU tix if you were a season ticket holder.

Full disclosure-I personally am not getting fucked because I’m old, but I feel for those who are…

Yes. They just go off Loyalty Points (cumulative for all years).  Not from donation this year.

hmmm. so the loyalty points thing is new this year?

could be an Arch Manning effect a bit. I bet it goes back down some after he graduates and those folks can't remember the QB's last name.

secondary market will be interdasting...If OU really sucks at football those tickets could get cheap.

These have always been the rules. It’s a demand issue this year that has given them increased effect, I guess.

No.  It's been the process since the AD "Who Shall Not Be Mentioned" ran UT athletics into the ground. I'm old, but seems fair to me.  Been buying season tickets and donating to LHF since mid-80's. I should get credit for giving them money through the shitty years. Demand is just much higher this year so some people that used to get tickets are locked out.
