The plot armor on some of the characters is so strong.

Winona Ryder --> gently tossed to the side in slow-motion, totally fine a few seconds later

Non-important soldier --> spikes through face, dies immediately and gruesomely

Her blue steel look anytime the camera lingers on her face takes us out of the show. It's amusing that sure these kids have grown into adults but she's the one that feels like she's an alien now compared to the rest.

I still don’t understand why she remained in the wetsuit for the duration of the show, after she was done with the tub.

I mean she is an alien compared to the rest

2 hour finale as a movie and it was only $10 with my Alamo season pass. Will be fun to watch it with a bunch of other fans

We're about to be running up that hill

Watching the finale at grapevine mills. It’s crazy packed

We really enjoyed the ending. Hit the feels just right. Those kids were babies when this started. Makes you feel old. It wasn't always the best but it was one hell of a ride.

Very emotional ending and good wrap up to the series. One of the more well done finales

So does graduating high school in 1988.

Where are the deaths? I wanted deaths

Not a spoiler, because this article came out a week ago...

DUFFER: It’s not Game of Thrones. We’re not in Westeros. I love Game of Thrones, but it’s just a very different type of show than that. There’s not going to be a Red Wedding situation. I think some things happen in the finale that are very surprising, but we’re not trying to shock or upset anyone. I hope by the time people get to the end of the finale that it just feels like there’s something inevitable about what happens, and that it doesn’t feel painful but feels satisfying.

Jamie Lee Bower deserves an award. He nailed his performance in season 5. In the final episodes he looked downright sinister at times. The Derek kid nailed his role as well, he had zero acting experience (appeared in a quick commercial) prior to being on stranger things.

It was a perfect ending

Great ending. Sad the rides over.

Agreed.

For all its faults, it was a very good show that weaved 80s nostalgia into the show that was a trip down memory lane for many of us. The fact that so many people are monday morning quarterbacking the finale and season 5 in general demonstrates how much the audience is invested in the show. Perhaps the show was a victim of its own success as Season 1 was downright magical and set the bar so high as it would be almost impossible to reach again.

Not sure if we'll see another show like this anytime soon.

I liked how the younger sister and group took over playing dnd at the end. A hope for the next generation passing the torch.

I don’t think they’ll do another one, but I’ve wondered what a 90s themed Stranger Things nostalgia would look like. The horror vibe of the first 2 seasons is what hooked me. I don’t feel the same connection to 90s horror. I feel like 90s would need to be sci-fi.

For all its faults

Dustin’s speech nailed it - there was good and bad, but more good than bad
