Random thoughts that don't warrant a thread

I've been using Google Gemini to clean up some vacation photos - getting rid of background people, adding little touches here and there.

I've also been using it for work doing basic tasks for now, and want to figure out how to integrate it into workflow. Pretty amazing shit this AI thing.

some people get distracted at home, and want to get away from vices, kids, etc.

This is me. I never have to actually go to my work, but at least once a week I will go for a few hours because I can't always focus at home. I usually do all the easy stuff at home with the TV going on in the back ground and save the stuff I really need to concentrate on to do at the store.

In my case, I can also get some advice on certain issues from my coworkers, and that is easier to do in person.

Same. When I need to focus I go to a quiet coffee shop and sit outside. A nice coffee, always eye candy, and I focus better.

i like how manufacturers try to be clever about labeling made in china products.

ive seen lots of things read "made in prc" (peoples republic of china).  and now staring at a label of a shirt i have and its "made in anhui".  anhui, i just learned, is a northern province of china.

Are you sure that's not just a typo and it was made in the good old U.S.A in Anahuac?

funny thing related to that is if something is made in germany or france or denmark, itll proudly say so.

if instead its made in estonia or romania, the label is instead just “made in europe”

just saw that Nick Mangold died at 41, 9 days after publicly pleading for a kidney transplant because none of his family are O+ compatible donors.

AI gave me these stats and they're wild:

-11 people die daily waiting for transplants

-90k people are on waitlist, with median wait time 3-5 years, longest is for type O
