Yep. I suspect there is pressure and likely help getting him to move on. I think they are holding what they have as leverage so it can happen smoothly as possible.

So you don't think Steve Sarkisian is HC next year?

What's the problem?

I have no reason to believe he's done anything to violate a behavioral clause, surly TMZ notwithstanding.

So you don't think going MIA for a month and missing one of biggest recruiting days of the year could be used as a violation of a behavioral clause?

People throwing out Sark's buyout as a reason to keep him are exhibiting a classic example of the sunk cost fallacy. Unless Texas fires Sark for cause, that money is already spent.

The actual question is whether Texas is willing to pay a different HC $10-15 million on top of it to have a legitimate chance at winning games against other top teams.

That answer may still be no, but it's the actual issue at question.

I think we only would if there was a "home run hire" available right now. I'm not seeing one unless we could drag Saban out of retirement (not happening)

He could possibly want to give the NFL a try.

No. I don't think he was MIA. I think his bosses knew exactly where he was.

He looks beyond lost. Again what is going on? Anyone who thinks it’s just we lost players and have new ones and had to gel with a few new coaches and this is all normal set back shit in year five and everything is fine is on crack. On better drugs than me and should share. With the night crew.

And while we are on drugs I'd like them to explain why Day, Cignetti, Deboer, Lanning, Freeman, and Kirby never seem to have these massive drop offs?

Do they not have losses to the NFL?

He would win 10 games, get ranked #1 or#2, and then get the shit beaten out of him because he was too busy hunting a better job or learning about pirates or some shit.  And ignoring his defense altogether.

Sure seems like Captain Sideline Squatter is ignoring plenty.

As far as you and I know, they have that person at the table already. We won't know about it until the powers that be want us to know.

All we've been hearing for years is how much money Texas has. But I have heard Sark say they have a number for certain positions or players and that's just it. Are we trying to prove some point by not using all of that money? Or are the alumi a bunch of cheap bastards? Please explain why we are not dominating the portal and outbidding everyone for recruits.

That’s the problem right there.   This is not a good season to be coach hunting.

Aggie could have kept Jimbo and made him at least work for the money but they rolled the dice canned his ass and swung and missed on DeBoer and almost settled on Mike Stoops but fucked him over on the tarmac after an online fan revolt and slinked away with Elko whom they barely gave a celebratory intro. He came back for their weird asses and they basically barely rolled out the welcome mat. Two years later and they are undefeated. Best season they have had in a fucking century. People can complain about their schedule but what makes any of you think we would be undefeated with their schedule or still viable for the CCG or playoffs? What makes people think an 3 loss to Jawja deserves to get to the playoffs just so we can fucking blow it and take a slot from a more deserving team. All this shit happened at Aggie. They lucked into a good coach. He has them undefeated. They came back from 27 point deficit, we routinely struggle to score 27.  But we should stick with Sark for whose sake? His fans?

TTU's Matador Club and Cody Campbell spent $28M in the transfer portal prior to this season.. did our alum not see that coming?  David Booth just gave KU $300M to spend on football and facilities.  They know exactly what's going on and who can be money-whipped.

Of course they knew, you're arguing semantics. The point is he WAS unavailable to do his job. (Actions are doing the job) Unavailable to do them is missing them.

Missing Actions of your job. MIA.

If his behavior forced him to miss actions of his job his was MIA and if you have a behavior clause in your contract, that's a direct violation. This isn't rocket science but again, you're not even trying to discuss the issues. You are playing word games like a troll.

Well the argument for fans of HC’s who routinely underperform is usually our talent. They still believe we are at a deficit from Mack brown and don’t have comparable talent to the other teams and they overrate our recruits and when HCs around them run circles around their favorite HC with less money and talent these same people will cry that their favorite HC is building the team the right way!!! We don’t need a stinking two years turn around!!!
we need a five year plan!!!! I mean six years!!! Wait…maybe seven!!!!

Don’t forget during this time we had a all conference caliber player visit that plays LG and would have tremendously helped this team

I agree with a lot of what you say but this Texas team could actually be undefeated with their schedule, legit.

Not if we can hold

We lost to Florida. Aggie beat Florida. Hence we would have a loss. At least. Because we lost after a fucking bye week. Same for today. Let’s see if Aggie can make CCG. I don’t even know if we can spoil it for them.

so something happens that you believe amounts to justification of firing for cause, but you don't pull the trigger. don't even put it in the personnel file. but you can come back to that incident months later, a year later and then quote it as your justification to fire something..... not the results on the field? how does that work? how long do you get to hold that joker in the deck? genuinely curious about this. lawyers?

Deboer and Cignetti were winners.   Where has sark actually won.  They ave a system.  Other three are leaders

We have at worst a top five payroll but I don’t think we’ll spend money for the sake of spending it.  We didn’t sign that softball player that tech got

40m plus budget to build a roster and this is how a Steve Sarkisian's team looks like when he goes against good coaches.  He aint it.  He only wins when he has overwhelming talent.  His a fucking OC pretending to be HC.

I agree. IMHO, there are only two ways Sark isn't here next year.

1) He's fired for cause. Sark skipped work for a month, including skipping Junior Day. All possible explanations for that are bad, but if rumors of Sark drinking again are true and it's both really bad, and easily proven, it's plausible Sark could be fired for cause, or convinced to leave to keep from being fired for cause.

2) Rumors of bad blood between Sark/Saban are true and Saban wants to stick it to Sark for personal reasons.

I don't think either is very likely, so we'll see Sark squatting on the sidelines next season.

So.. it is fact that we could NOT go undefeated with aggies schedule.

well, people shouldn't be gaslit for having expectations when they are driven by the coach. what are we talking about here. you can find easy examples of coaches preaching caution in the preseason and muting expectations, but Sark specifically went the other way, in response to questions about the roster.

this is him at SEC Media Days

"“I think this is a championship roster. Now we’ve got to play like a championship team, but I do think it’s a championship roster,” Sarkisian said."

It is fans problem for buying into 995 and coach speak yes

Agreed.

and for the record, if #1 is true (not saying it is) I would hope my university would allow a LOA for him to get some help, I care about him as a person. I would hope they wouldn’t sit on months of this possibly occurring and just file it away for a big loss as justification. I would not be proud of my school for that. Not at all. Bottom line if #1 is true and the powers that be are sitting on something like that while a human being self destructs himself and the team I would be very disgusted. We cut bait with Herman pretty quick into his disaster of off the field shit his final year, we just didn’t want to do it during the season/bowl what have you. We don’t fire mid season, it’s an amateur move no matter how many other decisions these people also mess up.
