I am and I'm familar with the ant and the grasshopper and the tortoise and the hare, but I also believe that humans have a more complex brain structure than a scorpion or a frog, or an ant or a grasshopper, or a tortoise or a hare. I believe in the ability to change and in redemption, though the success stories are not as common as the failures, there are plenty of such success stories and the pathway out of this mess for sark is for him to realize his identity is not in the play calling but as the HC and that if his goal is to have a championship caliber program he has to be the HC not the OC. I think everything needed for him to change is in this mix, the only question is whether his ego blinds him or if his own story as he tells it is true and he changes to be the HC the program needs instead of the OC the program needs to replace.

I don’t think Sark should be fired this year, but this offseason is everything.

We’ve seen this before — 2003 with Mack Brown. We lost the Holiday Bowl, lost players, and people doubted the direction. Mack made real changes, and it led to the 2004–2009 run.

Sark needs that same moment. He has to look in the mirror — really look — and evaluate everything:

• his staff

• his scheme

• his playcalling

• whether he has the right people

• and whether he’s trying to do too much

Because right now it feels like too many voices. Too many hands in the kitchen. The DBs play one thing, the front plays another. No cohesion. No identity.

And we need to be real about this: Texas Tech, Indiana, Ohio State — they hit the portal right. They didn’t coddle players. They upgraded. And it paid off.

Look at A&M — they already had receivers, but they still went and got better ones. And now they’re a prolific offense. THAT is portal strategy.

Meanwhile, we played it safe. We needed RB help and didn’t get any because we were banking on Baxter — a guy who probably played 15–30% of the snaps all season.

You can’t be afraid to get better. Yes, I get wanting to develop your guys. I get not wanting everyone to transfer. But it can’t be the WHOLE damn roster you protect.

Sometimes you have to make hard decisions. You’re the head fucking coach.

You’re at Texas.

You have money.

You have NIL backing.

You can get almost any player you want.

We should’ve gone harder after Eric Singleton or Baron Browning.

We should’ve brought in another corner.

We should’ve brought in another OL.

We should’ve added a top WR.

We should’ve grabbed a veteran RB.

I know we can do it because Sark has done it! We’ve seen him do it.

And imagine David Bailey + Colin Simmons + Burke + Spence in a rotation. But we didn’t want to over spend so we could keep players like Wingo who can’t catch a contested deep ball or Jaylen Gilbeaux who is maybe the worse CB in the power 4.

Ohio State did that. We didn’t. Why not?

Competition makes teams better.

If a portal guy beats out your 5-star GOOD. That’s how the best programs are built.

But Sark was scared to upset the room. Scared to make players leave.

That’s not how you win in 2024.

Players won’t hesitate to leave for money  so why are we scared to replace them?

And on top of that Sark has to stop treating this like the NFL preseason. No hitting. Light practices. No physicality. We play soft because we practice soft. This is college football  not OTAs. And I get it Sark probably was scared because he felt like we should’ve won the championship the season before but injuries happen but fuck you can’t go through life scared.

This offseason will tell us EVERYTHING.

If we come out next year and we’re still undisciplined, still soft, still getting bullied  then something has to change.

We have too much talent to get pushed around and Fucking Kirby talking shit on Texas

No excuses left.

Arch has wanted to come to Texas since he was a kid. We all know this. He wants his degree. Everyone in the sports media has been salivating about him portaling since he chose to come here. I don’t know what he will do but my guess is he is sticking it out.

I don’t believe that Sark has been controlled by the Manning family whatsoever. I think people who do think that just need a scapegoat for sark’s shitty 2025 offseason and season. Instead of putting the onus on Sark where it belongs.

Texas has been very good to Sark as far as Im concerned. He can still leave here with an overall net positive tenure. There is another fork in the road where things end up so ugly for him that I would actually worry about the guy. Based on how he has looked so often this season I already am kind of worried for him. If he somehow actually gets a HC offer in the NFL he would be crazy not to take the opportunity for a change of scenery. I understand he cant give up playcalling duties. Thats the whole shooting match for him, what gets him out of bed in the morning. I also understand he isnt capable of calling the plays as a HC. I think its time for an amicable split where we wish him the best and continue to cheer for his success both on and off the field.

guess we’ll find out maybe BOW is right

Yeah I wouldn't be upset, but even if Sark could get a team interested in him which I think is a stretch at this point, he's taking a massive pay cut.

Nor would I.

I just don't see him getting an NFL head coaching gig. Maybe he'd take an OC job.

Might as well move on now at the end of the season. Why keep a guy around if he isn’t fully committed to running this program

It will be the end of his career if he does. He's not some monumental play caller. Him going to the Titans or wherever won't end with Superbowl's. It'll most likely end after three straight sub .500 seasons that get him terminated and the only folks interested are G5's or Wake Forest.

All that, instead of swallowing some fuckin pride. Realizing you're not God's gift to offensive football strategy. And hiring some great coaches to a great university and city. Pride really is a deadly sin. He certainly won't be the last it takes down if he walks that path.

This aspect hasn't really been talked about much anywhere but shitty coaching aside the players, particularly on defense, but really all of them seem to be edging closer towards disinterested or lack of faith. Georgia it really felt like the players not only poorly executed a bad game plan, but had no faith in it from the start. That's a very clear sign of a) "culture flaws" b) a coach losing a team or c) both

yea I noticed it more in the 2nd watch. It’s like the coaches half ass the game plan this the shocked looked on everyone’s face when Kirby onside kicked it.  But honestly it happened before that, on the fourth down conversion, look at the players , they all became unfocused

That's a lot of words. Even for me. Let me see what I can do.

Look dude Indiana didn't do anything special. They went and got a solid QB out of the transfer portal. Again. Three of their top 4 receivers are from the portal. Their two top RBs are also from the portal. Even then, last year they had a favorable schedule(like aggy) and got throttled by Ohio State 38-15 when they finally faced them. Then they lost their first game in the playoffs. That's a feel good story, FOR THEM. You can stay at Indiana for decades by repeating that process. Meanwhile here you guys wanna jettison Sark to the moon for being 7-3 against a schedule that included the number 1 and 5 teams, and two top 10 wins vs Oklahoma and Vandy. AFTER two straight playoff appearances.

You guys expect us to just reload like Ohio State and Georgia, but don't see that we don't get the talent they do. WE think our shit doesn't stink, but the top kids see us as a tier below them. And why wouldn't they? In their lifetime Texas hasn't been good. So we get project 5 stars, instead of the ready to go kids. Cam Williams was a project, and spent his time here busting protections with regularity. DJ Campbell still isn't polished. Wingo can't catch, isn't physical, and doesn't run crisp routes. But man can he run past defenders on lesser teams on screen passes. Let's not leave out our QB. Now thinking back to when I heard the Manning really wanted him to sit and learn, I realize they knew what we now know, which is the kid was behind developmentally.

Texas, Ohio State, and Georgia all replaced their QBs this season. We are the only ones struggling, and it's not just "the line". We have the worst QB of the three currently. We have the worst receiver corps of the three. We have the worst O-line of the three. We have the worst RBs of the three. We have the worst TEs of the three. I mean, we had 2 receivers go first round in the last few years. Ohio State has had 4. We got 2 4th round TEs. Ohio State had a 4th and 3rd. We got a 1st, 2nd, and 4th and 5th rnd back out the last few years. Ohio State has had 2 2nd rounders, so we got them there. But then we've gotten a 1st rounder, a 5th rounder, and two 6th round O-line drafted. In that same time frame Ohio State has had 3 1st round, a 3rd, 3th, 6th, and 7th.

When we won the National Championship, USC was the talk of the town. However, if you look back we were the better team across the board from top to bottom. When Bama was winning they were better top to bottom. Same with Georgia. Same with Ohio State last year. If we wanna get to winning titles we need to find a way to start getting better players.

Here are all your words back at you.

We're talking about resources not talent. Recruiting rankings (imperfect as they may be) and roster pricetag are really the only measures we have of "resources." And our resources indicate that we should be able to compete (and occasionally win) at the highest level.

You want to say OSU and UGA have more talent, fine. I actually agree. But it's not because of superior resources. We've had a top 5 recruiting class 5 years in a row, including the #1 class in 2025. We went into Georgia and poached their state's top recruit 2 years in a row. We reportedly have the most expensive roster in the country.

The fact that we aren't as talented as OSU/UGA is an indictment on our roster construction, evaluation, and development. All of that begins and ends with Sark.

I'm going to speak broadly from a sobriety perspective for a moment.

The first step in change is recognizing that you have an issue. To date I've seen zero examples, not one of Sark making any notes of issues relating to the coaching. He's pretty much blamed players to this point and blatantly missed glaring errors. (Running game comment vs Georgia and onside kick comment)

Once you recognize and acknowledge you have (a) problem(s) you have to take ownership of the issue(s). I don't recall Sark ever taking direct accountability for poor game planning and preparation.

Third, you have to want to change. Own step 1 and 2 and decide to change.

I agree with you that people can change but the hard reality, be it career, personal life or addiction is that it is extremely rare. It just is.

The fact that I've seen no steps or acknowledgment from Sark on step 1 and 2 gives me zero faith that at any point he will reach 3. Perhaps that will change but I think for that to happen he will unfortunately for him have his "gutter" or "low" point. I firmly believe that point has not come and he will no longer be coaching at Texas when it does.

He showed up talking the talk in year 1-3 and had the results to evidence it wasn't all talk... But I've already stated his current state is very suspect and hints at a possible relapse. I'm on record that he needs to change now or GTFO.  While i'm not in recovery nor an addict I'm very familiar with the addict or better stated for high functioners... the substance dependent personality. He's definitely showed signs of use.

if he is gone this year there's going to be some nasty leaks that follow i'm sure.

the question is who does CDC nab? it's a crowded field, despite the media saying Texas money whips folks, the history of it all suggests otherwise, we're pretty conservative on pay at least initially. and frankly CDC has owned the minor sports, but FB is totally different, so I'm not convinced we hire well on the next go round.

Sark coming out of the tunnel before the game had the exact same face we saw after the onside kick. Detached, unemotional, not present in the moment. He didn’t want to be there, and it was so fucking obvious. It didn’t even look like fear, it looked like he was hypnotized and apathetic which is even worse.

This coupled with Loreal’s Instagram video post recorded right after the loss saying “Luck of the draw, that’s how it goes sometimes. It’s not just football, it’s competition, we still have a really good team. I love our coaches, our staff, everybody.” Then proceeded to give credit to those who designed her fashion looks for the game and dropped her link to her YouTube channel called Life with Loreal Sarkisian.

These two couldn’t read a room with the writing on the wall.

This is the key point. Couple it with the reality that in only his second year Elko is vastly out performing Sark (related to this year and Sarks second year), Indiana university is showing how its done with fundamentals, great NIL and recruiting evaluation, Oregon rinse repeating success Texas stands alone. Alone in poor resources management. No staff in the nation is doing it worse, that still has a job.
