Rumors are not the issue for me. Its Sark's truly shitty performance in multiple ways with lots of data. See my post on page 229.

Now you feel compelled to attack me because you don't like the data.

That tracks.

You responded to my post on page 229.

So you're well aware and trolling but you'll continue to do so.

Based on your facts I would be fine parting ways with Sark. I think there is a close to zero chance of that happening though.

And I've owned many times the possibility of him returning is absolutely real. So we disagree in % chance of his departure and nothing else it seems.

The only thing I don’t like as someone beyond frustrated with sark when I argue with people I mostly respect here even if we disagree on sark and our root problems on the team this year—that’s fine.

but there is this serious need to tell us to calm the fuck down all the time? Like I am calmer than you are dudes, lol. Seriously though I see that a lot in the political debates. Calm down…you are irrational man. I don’t see that many irrational people on either side of the Sark argument so it’s weird to me. I don’t see people going that turbo on either side, that is one thing that is kinda lame, hey pearl clutches!!! lol,

I don’t see a lot of middle finger emojis either. We seem to be calm. It’s all good, damn. It’s just a pet peeve and if it’s been used on any of you in another debate over a different topic you know it sucks when you are being fairly rational to have someone immediately discredit you as being unhinged as a means of a debate, 😂

No matter whether the rumors about L’Oréal or Sark are being unfaithful to each other outside their marriage multiple names have been brought up on both sides and some connected to our fucking team. Does that sound professional and or winning a MNC to you?

Between you and me yeah. The gossip I roll my eyes at. What’s your %?  I don’t think there’s a snowball’s chance in hell of him getting fired for performance until at least after next season.

If any of yall needed any clearer explanation why things have been so off this year…

An angry Sark on the SEC Conference Call today per the Chronicle.

Quote

AUSTIN — Sark’s staying.

Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian prefaced his designated time period on the SEC conference call Wednesday by defiantly clarifying that he is going nowhere else and implored media and fans to ignore the false and hurtful rumors that suggest he could leave.

“Yes, I'd like to comment on something before I get into our team, something that is has been bothering me now over the past few weeks,” Sarkisian said Wednesday afternoon. “And that is people reporting that or insinuating that there's a possibility I could leave the University of Texas, and that is absolutely false and untrue. I'm not going anywhere.”

Sarkisian didn’t distinguish between the media or mention that all the speculation has come from national outlets, including the latest from SEC partner ESPN. A well-connected Texas source told the Houston Chronicle on Monday that these rumors are “stupid BS” and Sarkisian will definitely be back next season.

The fifth-year Longhorn head coach said he felt the need to address the rumors that have persisted since The Athletic wrote that he or his agents, Jimmy Sexton and Ed Marynowitz, have put out feelers that Sarkisian is interested in taking an NFL job soon.

Sarkisian angrily denounced that report on the night that Texas survived a road game with Mississippi State and said there was no truth to it. His representatives also put out a statement that day denying the story as well.

However, ESPN GameDay analyst Desmond Howard on Monday doubled down on the rumors in a video post on Instagram and suggested he won’t be surprised if there is “a mutual parting of the ways” for Sarkisian and Texas.

Sarkisian, whose 7-3 Texas team faces struggling Arkansas at Royal-Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon after losing to Georgia 35-10 and falling to No. 17 in the College Football Playoff rankings, said he is choosing to speak out so forcefully to avoid distracting his team. Five of the top 10 teams in the CFP reveal Tuesday are SEC teams.

“Never do I do this because I never want to be a distraction, so I never address these things,” he said. “But at this point now, I feel like that is important, that I do do this because it's important for our team. It's important for our university. I've had no discussions, not with my agent, not with the university, not with any other school, not with any NFL team, but ever going anywhere else.”

He didn’t stop there and spoke to his long-term future in Austin.

“I came here to win championships,” he said. “I've got two kids enrolled at the University of Texas, one in law school, one on our team. I've got a third that hopefully decides to enroll at the University of Texas next fall. And my wife and I just had our son here in Austin. This is our home. We came here to win championships.”

Sarkisian was given a contract extension for the second time in four seasons when he agreed in January to a pact that ties him to Texas through the 2031 season and pays him $10.8 million this season. He is scheduled to make $12.3 million in the final season of that agreement.

His current team, which was the consensus preseason No. 1 team in the nation in both the Associated Press writers and broadcaster’s poll as well as the coaches poll, has only a distant shot at reaching the CFP for a record third straight year.

But Sarkisian stressed Texas has two big home games left against Arkansas and No. 3 Texas A&M, which gives the Longhorns a shot at a third win against a Top 10 team this season. His teams have a 32-8 mark the last three seasons.

“We've built a damn good football program in the five years that we've been here, and we've been to two college football playoffs,” Sarkisian said. “We won a Big 12 championship. We went to the SEC championship game in year one. We've had 23 players drafted the last two years, which is more than any other school in the country. And our team, GPA, is at an all time high.

“So can we please stop putting things out there that you have absolutely zero evidence on? And then can we please stop retweeting, putting it back out there as if it's true, as if it's the gospel. It is not true. If you have a question about my future, call me or call Chris Del Conte, our athletic director, and we can set the record straight for you. So everybody understand. So moving forward, when some Joe Blow decides to put something on social media out there, we all don't run with it like it's the gospel. Can we all agree on that, on this call?”

Well, I put it all in my long ass post but mostly I have very real concerns that the smoke (fake or real) is being fanned by people who want him gone. I suspect these people are big NIL donors frustrated with his off season blunders last year, his attitude and lack of production this year. Admittedly, this is all wild speculation but when you look at the time lines, things track to that logic.

So, based on what I do know (data from the past 2 season as well as spring and summer behaviors that are all absolutely verified facts, compounded with horrible performance this year) with the aligned smoke, now recruiting issues starting to  (possible NIL doner angst), I'm leaning above 70-80% chance he's gone.

Here's the bad part for me, while fear of change doesn't prevent me from wanting a change I don't have a ton of faith in Texas finally hiring a coach that isn't a mid or project, for the 6th time in a row. I'm hoping with CDC and NIL folks figure it out, but..

All that said, my real concern with Sark returning is NIL drying up, Sark not changing at all, and things getting substantially worst next season with a much tougher schedule.

But I'll close with, I'd love to be wrong, have Sark come back, do a wholesale change from GM to OC, drop off OC duties, become an engaged HC and win an NC. I would happily eat the shit ton of crow served here and put in a good chunk of money on a mock BurntEyes pre-National Championship game HH in Las Vegas next year before the game. I just firmly believe its far less likely than Texas finding a far better replacement.

I have no idea what our administration will do. All signs so far point to his returning. And we know that means nothing at this time. We can guess at it. I do think the outcome of the next two games might have some bearing on the decision. Like if we lose both. One loss definitely ends our playoff hopes which are on life support anyway but not DOA. The committee it seems likes UT.

if he stays I imagine the following:

some type of potential rehab + bring back regular practices + bring back spring game + pound the portal to submission to fill holes + players who don’t want to play can hit the portal + staff changes he might not want to make + he already said he will never give up playcalling + so something must change there + greater attention to QB development and possibly added staff + going to Junior Day and so on.

In my view he is only gone if the multiple fires are too much to fix AND he won’t agree to the micromanagement. Millionaires want their fucking ROI and the pitch has to get the money for the athletes they need. If he is gone it because of what I said above. And we fire up the UT night crew coach search thread. If he stays we pray like hell it works and his demons can be corralled and we have a great season and that’s predicated on hope that nothing messier occurs than has been rumored to already have occurred.

A lot of people here were on shaggy and I was too. And I remember when he was fired at USC and what everyone here said. All sorts of bad shit was said about him and how he had to be drunk the whole time and everything and no wonder it was shit and blah blah blah, some though most were supportive of him in recovery though and wished him well, but most took shots at him, no wonder the season sucked and so on.

Sark has lost three or more games (including playoffs) in 11 of his 13 seasons as a coach.  1 of the years he didn't lose 3 was at USC, where he was 3-2.  Why so many of you treat him like the next Saban is beyond me.  He's mid

That's something I should address. Im closing in on 12 years sober.

Let me make one thing clear. I truly hope that that the drinking issues are not true. For Steve Sarkisian, for Loreal, for his children and all his family.

If they are, I want it known I would be the first in line to sponsor him, suggest a sponsor in Austin or support whatever treatment path he chooses.

That is all I have to say about that aspect of all this.

That's admirable, but for someone who understands the struggle of substance abuse, you have engaged in the worst type of speculation.

Just want to say as I heard from a customer today (aggy) and an out of state co worker (aggy) that are all coming to game in Austin who raved how a ton of their aggy friends are also coming that to the Horn season ticket holders that sold their tickets to aggies that you can get fucked.

Do some fucking due diligence you fucktards

So ole Miss fans admire how Sark said he would stay and wish Lane would be more like sark and say the same.

for the record I think Sark is far more talented but like the Kevin Costner character in Tin Cup is foiled by his pride and other things. Kiffin would be the Don Johnson character in this analogy.

The difference is Kiffin has better, higher-profile options than his current gig, whereas Sark obviously does not.

I thought the same thing about him in 2022 when he had Quinn throwing deep ball after deep ball incompletions in the OK State game

I think he is when he gives us his best game. Like what is the biggest game Kiffin has won as a HC vs Sark? Sark is capable of beating the best if he doesn’t get in his own way. I don’t know if Kiffin can. Jmo.

When he takes what a defense gives him which is rare and scripts a good one he is one of the best. Kiffin is like Ice Man more consistent. His main deal is he’s a dick. And he’s talented but his stubbornness isn’t that big an issue. And he’s not trying to be OC and HC and I have never seen Sark as a HC without being an OC.

both Kiffin and Sark have demons but Kiffin’s is mainly snatch and both have lost jobs bc of their demons.

I cannot answer that. Ole Miss seems to really want to keep him. When has he won  a major game as a HC though? A big one? Has he bested the best coaches? Sark has bested some damn fine coaches but with other good HCs  he is their bitch.

Another plausible explanation for why winning is hard is that our roster isn't as good as you think it is, particularly on offense.

Kiffin beat UGA’s ass last year. Then he lost to Kentucky and Florida which kept him out of the playoffs.
