I just strongly considered buying a 1972 Chevy. Basic model, manual transmission. Restored, but not pristine restoration. It was about $25,000, as are all Ford and Chevy pick ups in that era.

Sidenote. Today’s manly men need to have a $150,000+ jacked up dually to take their jet ski to the lake.

I could be wrong but if you are willing to accept some “patina”, you can get one cheaper than $25k. I question its ability to pull a passenger jet however.
My Dad recently handed me down his 72’ that’s spent its life in Bonham, Tx.

The bed-to-cab ratio is insane.

It is.  It’s a 8 foot bed and they made an 8.5 foot bed call the “Longhorn”.

Had a Business Professor at McNeese that occasionally drove a Columbia Blue trimmed version of that truck (if I remember right). Always had the windows down in SWLA with no AC. No thank you for me, but it was in mint condition for its age.

It was built as a truck, not a grocery getter.  It wasn't designed to take Little Johnny to baseball practice, but could take the whole team in the bed.

I might be bias.
