Yesterday was a home game Forrest. Please try to keep up.

Your statement said that he’s only used as a pinch hitter in road games.  That’s not correct. Your english was ambiguous and did not actually communicate what you were trying to say.  It’s also silly to make declarative statements after one road game with him on the roster.

Fan purity tests are retarded. This isn't the clinching game of the WS.

Alright buddy. Why isn’t Mancini starting at first over Yuli?

Yuli is “38” in Cuban years and a UFA in 2023. The Astros should at least want to figure what they have in Mancini at age 30 with a legit birth certificate and a mutual option for 2023.

We got us a streak going.   Do it again tomorrow, boys.

He hates Esch as much as the rest of us.

Wasn't he the heir apparent to Craig Roberts at one point? He's been involved in Houston sports a long fucking time. Everyone may hate him, but damn that dude is living all our dreams.

I think you got your wires crossed and are arguing with someone on your side

lulz @ Cleveland broadcast - Astros are so deep that  mccormick and maldonado are the ones that kill us tonight. not yordan, bregman, altuve. lol

surly thread pre game - burn it all down, we're never winning a game again !!!!

Nobody said that. At all. They said it was another shitty lineup by Dusty and it was. He played Dubon with a sub 600 ops rather than Mancini, with a. 750 ops and hit a HR yesterday. He also chose a guy at catcher 35% below league average over the guy 8% above league average.
Those are facts. It worked out tonight. Which is, you know, awesome since we are all Astros fans here.
sometimes, it works out in blackjack to sit on 16 against a dealers 10 but just because something worked out doesn’t mean it’s the optimum play.
Yet, the main thing is, once again you are ascribing statements to “people” who said nothing of the sort. You are whacking away at a straw man.

The Astros have been the best team in the AL since 2017, and have 1 WS title to show for it. Questioning a manager that has never won a title despite managing some of the greatest individual talent to ever play the game and has been fired from 4 teams isn't some crazy notion you seem to think it is. Click traded for two guys that represent upgrades at 2 of the team's weakest hitters, the fact that Dusty isn't playing them isn't surprising given that he's been fired 4 times and never won a title.

Look, I’m glad we won. But trading for Mancini and not playing him everyday weakens the lineup. DH and 1B are excellent options on the road. He should he playing 6 days a week.

Did you ever think that the manager has to manage the clubhouse, and not just the games?

How do you think it would impact the team for Dusty to immediately bench two players who have been a large part of this team’s success for a long time and are well-liked in favor of two new arrivals?   Give it time and let Dusty work these guys in naturally.

Sending Maldy and Yuli to go get their shine boxes on day 1-2 after these guys get here would not go over well.

I’m sure Mancini and Vasquez get it and are just waiting for their opportunity to contribute to a winner.

You act like these guys are petulant children and Dusty is their nursemaid. I expect them to act like professionals that are being paid millions to root for their teammates' success if they are playing or not.

Go back and read my first post on this thread where I said we were going to win 98 games and cruise to the division while being short on bats that will be a major fucking problem in the playoffs. So, you know, just about exactly what will happen for this team.
more- how about when I said it’s a real fucking problem to rely on Brantley and Yuli bc they are old and likely to get dinged and not be productive.
or, calling the Odorizi things the second he signed while also saying he wasn’t trash and was just a league average dude but we wouldn’t want to pay him because he’s unnecessary.
or- how about the thing I’ve said over and over and over again that Dusty continues to make sub optimal lineups and sometimes they will work because this is a game of probability and not certainty.
you get real chesty whenever Maldonado or Dubon or whatever other weird thing Dusty does with the lineup (hitting Goodrum 3rd, refusing to play Chas against LHP- whatever) works out and ignore the times that the law of large numbers goes to work fucking this suboptimal strategy up the ass, all while ascribing bullshit straw men arguments to anyone who disagrees with you.

Click playing 4D Winter Meeting Chess while y’all playing checkers.

The off-season season goals should be

1) Resign Verlander

2) Sign as many of the young controlable pitchers to 4-5 year deals.

3) Trade whoever doesn't sign for a controlable position player at either 1B/C/CF.

In an ideal world, yes, but that’s not where we live.

Hinch was manager for 3 of those years and only got 1 WS. He also had Verlander all 3 years unlike Dusty.
