Using that .gif with Oregon involved in the recruiting is like posting a video to Jump Around with Wisconsin as the competition. Cheeky.

What's the reference?

1) No one should be getting compared to Bijan Robinson. He was a once every 5 years national RB recruit. That cannot be the bar.
2) Credit to Bobby connecting with the staff and conveying to the audience that they were going to do exactly what many posters on the boards were demanding with laughable entitlement - focusing resources for need and impact.
3) Atkinson is the best defensive player in this class. I said as much on this thread months ago. I didn’t think they’d land him. If they do, he’s an immediate impact player as a true freshman. Holy shit.

So I guess this answers my question I wanted to ask, he’s better than the Alabama LB we missed on.

With the services adjusting their rankings (today for Rivals) or folding into each other (Rivals with On3), it’s hard to know where Atkinson (or anyone) stands at the moment (it’s all subjective anyway) but a couple years ago, maybe as recently as last year, I would see his name at the very top of the 2026 prospect projections. He’s been a known stud and expected star since freshman year.

If I recall they're slightly different players (Griffin is bigger and rush-ier, Atkinson is more of a field general). Good players both, but Atkinson is the rarer skillset.

Not sure if I missed it, but did Black Cat ever respond to the poster asking about the 3 recruits? Something about making a splash for 3 big names? It kind of lined up with the same time Gerry/Bobby saying we’d get to 20-21 by August 1. Since then we’ve led for Cooper, now Atkinson. Any obvious picks for the 3rd?

Speaking of unsolved mysteries, what the hell ever became of the story floated by Nahlin last week (and seemingly confirmed here by some prominent posters) that a recruit headed elsewhere did something to ruin their career/life, maybe in a McDonald’s parking lot? I’ve googled the name we thought was associated with the story, and see nothing.

The only other “big name” left without flipping someone and who has visited (no offense to the TE Brown) is that safety Benjamin no?

Biggest name left out there on our board is Davon Benjamin I think. Believe he’s seen as an Oregon lean though but not sure anyone really knows.

  1. This might be the whitest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Right up there with Sweet Caroline at Red Sox games.
  2. I would, however, be interested in seeing more of the blondo in white pants to the camera guys left.

Gerry was just talking about Benjamin and a source told him that Benjamin is the smartest secondary player in Sark’s time at Texas.

Now we just need Lanning to film a commitment video with him to give him time to switch to the good guys on August 2

Thank you.  Next thing you know a running back who is shifty will be getting compared to Barry Sanders or Eric Metcalf.  GTFO.  As for Atkinson/Cooper, I'm considering burning one of my wife's crazy homage candles to Janis Joplin.  Don't mock, I've freely admitted I'm an old and I listen to jazz.

Just watched some of Atkinson’s HUDL and I can see why he’s working with DJ. Plays a lot like him already. Looks a lot like Ant in that can he can spy and drop well. The thought of him behind terry and Wesley is a scary thought.

Now watch this kid also play just like Derrick Johnson (that’s for @cafe society). Okpala is way underrated, we will be a problem for everyone.

Fuck the Georgia posters and the crying.  They've come in the state for years and took 5*'s/high 4*'s.

They can keep Justin Williams for now. We'll send them a care package for when we land Atkinson and Williams transfers here.

I see WAY more Baxter than Bijan. Bijan had ridiculous quickness and beyond elite contact balance.

This kid looks like a very good back, but none of the traits except speed that Bijan possessed, JMHO.

No one is like Bijan. Bijan is a freak. A unicorn.

Were they this salty about the #5, 6, and 7 recruits from Georgia all being committed to aggy?

Atkinson is apparently from NC, and moved to Georgia in 8th grade. The fuck?

Just a reminder for all the dumbfucks who like to say Gerry and Bobby don’t know shit, and they only say obvious shit and don’t have any inside sources, this morning Gerry aid 65/35 Texas and Bobby hinted strongly this would happen.

55/45 but who’s counting am I right?!!  hahahahahah

This is one of those recruitments that people tend to forget about until suddenly, a week before he commits, there's smoke.

Welcome to the board, Mr. Sone. What you got for us?

Okpala winds up as an old school OLB, known these days as a multiple Edge, I guess. He could wind up being great, but Atkinson will actually address the potential issue of real LB depth for the roster. I think they’re going to want another one at the second level before it’s all said and done as well. &nbsp

Yeah, Okpala told OTF on his recruiting livestream he was going to be an edge. My DJ comp was more for the chop motion, forcing fumbles and blowing up assholes when he arrives. The Atkinson tape blew me away with how much ground he can cover immediately after the snap. Pity the poor RB on a wheel route, and Tyler gets there just as the ball does, and cleans up. Sure tackler, too. How he’s not the #1 recruit in the country, I don’t know. He could add some weight, but he’s ready to be a difference maker in college today. If he really chooses us, mad respect for whoever made it happen.

According to Texas Parks & Wildlife, the state of Texas is home to seven different wild cat species: the bobcat, mountain lion, margay*, jaguarundi, jaguar, feral domestic cat, and ocelot.

*only one margay specimen has ever been found in Texas, so this is a debatable inclusion.

I feel like I missed something.

Also, about 8 years ago, my wife and daughter left the house to adopt a “kitty”. They came back with the weirdest juvenile cat in the world. Followed my wife around like a dog, hunted the children, could jump straight up close to 12 feet, refused to drink water where it ate, had really strange markings, was super long and super tall. Still is all of that weird shit, actually. Anyway, to your point, turns out it’s like a 3rd generation savannah cat. Look that shit up.

@SydneyCarton and his wife are wild ass cat people, so I’ve tried on multiple occasions to get them to adopt him away from our house. Even they’re not crazy enough to take him on.
