This band has a lot of depth that continues to fascinate me. They might be a product of their main single success and glossed over as a result but some of you that were actually around for this era could probably correct me.

This is a phenomenal rock song. The sound they crafted on this album as a whole is really spectacular when you stack it up against a lot of other stuff that was being made during that era. Sure they had plenty of 80s cheese and glam but they also kept an edge and musicality about them that really stops me in my tracks and makes me dissect some of their stuff whenever it comes up. A lot of 70s metal influence can be heard on this.

Also - their lead singer had some fucking PIPES. I tried to sing a couple of these and holy shit his register is high and hard to emulate.

What you want is just outside your reach
You keep on searchin'
You're walking down that Pensacola beach
You keep repeatin'
While you're waiting for that sound
Apparatus to the ground
You're stealing from the lost and found
But what you find
Ain't what you had in mind
Until you find your Rolex in the sand
You won't be stopping
Until that solid gold is in your hand
You'll be happy
Call your office on the phone
Say you won't be coming home
You fell into
Vacations on our own

Listening to the Deluxe Edition of Led Zeppelin IV/Symbols/Zoso/Runes/the Untitled Title

Didn't realize today is the 50th anniversary of its United States release.

go ahead, take away "Stairway to Heaven."  I don't care, without it...it's still one of the 5 greatest rock albums ever recorded.

Loved the Outfield, the wife and I saw them at an 80’s concert in San Antonio in the early 2000’s. I used to crank my stereo up at the beginning of Bangin’ and get peoples attention, underrated song.
