Cowboys vs. Patriots: Return of the Zeke

Zeke had  6 carries for 16 yards, 2 receptions for 6 yards, and no scores.

Point of emphasis why he is no longer a Cowboy.  That shit got old a long time ago.

Mac Jones is the very definition of jag. He was the bus driver for a loaded Bama team. All he had to do is keep the thing on the road, nothing more than that. I would expect Belichick to be smart enough to realize that fact. Is it possible the GOAT's of both the NFL and CFB are fading at the same time?

So are people still talking about this magic Bill has? Lmao. Hasn't did jack shit since he couldn't ride Brady's coat tails any longer. He's basically Jason Garrett now.

What did Mac Jones do to be hate inducing? I don't know anything about him other than Sark made him a ton of money.

He's a cheap shot artist and has actively tried to hurt guys.  Fuck that entitled piece of shit.  He's the type of guy who was a lieutenant in Vietnam who's company killed him and blamed it on land mine.

The Belichik take is just bad.  Yes he had Tom Brady and that was obviously a big key but he also saw that team through about 6 different versions around Tom and kept winning through them all.

Besides, name a legendary pro coach with the kind of resume Bill has that DOESN'T have transcendent players.  You can't.

On another note I think, when healthy, this Cowboys team is pretty good.  I don't think they are at the 49ers level, but they are probably at the Eagles level.  When healthy is key though...this team gets really shaky on offense when Plan Bs have to start coming into play en masse.

only 3 coaches have won super bowls with different QB's - George Seifert, Joe Gibbs(3), Bill Parcells.  Parcells was of course when Simms went down with injury and Hostetler came in to finish the season.  Seifert had 2 HOF QB's

Gibbs won 3 super bowls with 3 different QB's who aren't in the HOF.  hate the Skins but dude could coach his ass off.

Fair, none of those guys has 6 though and QB isn't the only player on the field.  Bill had some JAG named Lawrence Taylor. Gibbs had Monk, Green, Riggins and some pretty awesome linemen.

They all won with some pretty fucking amazing players.

Coaching matters a lot, but you can't really be a legendary coach without great Jimmies and Joes.

I think there was a line of reasoning or argument that Belichick could win with any ole' QB, just give him time.  It happens all the time, who's more to credit for championships -- the great player or the immortalized coach?  And it happens in a ton of sports.  Bill is a great coach, no one is disputing it, but Tom Brady is the engine that moved those teams, there's almost no denying it now.  Bill was certainly more instrumental in the first or second one but I think it's safe to say, Brady was the straw that stirred the Pats dynasty, and folks are simply having fun with it now.

Belichik is one of the greatest coaches ever. And Brady is the GOAT. Their synergy was remarkable because both outworked their competition, and those teams had a ton of great players.

Where Bill has really failed since Tom left is in his role as GM. The team is littered with failed draft picks, a lack of speed, and a bad o line. And his approach to assistant coaches and coordinators is foolish.

Bill should have retired when Tom left and polished his legacy.

correct,  I was just pointing out how hard it is to do.  Belichick is a great defensive mind so you could say that without Belichick Brady may not have near the success if he was with a head coach that couldn't put great defenses together.

Belichick is good at X's and O's. He is also a prick, and players don't like him. Brady was the glue that held the team together. Heard an interview with a player, and the interviewer asked him about Brady. He said he had just come from a team where when the QB walked down the hall, everyone else was supposed to get out of the way. Said the first time he met Brady, Brady walked up to him, introduced himself, already knew his name, and welcomed him to the Patriots.

Belichick's move on Brady before Brady went to the Buccaneers was classic Belichick. After Brady had taken middle of the road contracts for the good of the team his entire career, Belichick gave him an offer typical for a back up quarterback. Brady made his teammates feel important. That's why they came out of retirement to make one last run with him with the Buccaneers.

Brady was a better quarterback than Belichick was as a coach. People took pay cuts to play for Brady. They wouldn't take a piss to play for Belichick.

The whole situation has a beautiful irony to it. Bill always tried to move on from players as soon as he had the chance. And now he's the one they need to move on from and he's trying to stick around and probably feels it is "owed" to him. If he was in Kraft's shoes he'd move on from himself without a thought.

Belichik won rings and put together a dynasty in a system built to prevent them. He did that by revamping the team each year and totally changing strategies several times. The first ring teams were different than the Randy moss teams vs the later ones. There’s no questioning his brilliance, and at the same time questioning his current arrogance and failure. I think Kraft is losing patience.

We are looking at the two greatest coaches, Bill and Saban, retiring soon. Who would want to take those jobs?
You want to be the guy hired to replace those guys.
