Such a likable group of athletes. They didn’t clown the other team when they had success, didn’t hang their heads or acknowledge clowning from the other side when they failed. They just went about their damn business and won a title.

Fantastic representation of our University.

And no stupid over-celebrating bat slams on walks. OU’s pig nose last year was the worst

Mia was one hit away from the Texas record for BA in a season. If she had one more hit instead of a walk or out, she’d have it. Will tie with Janae for a .446 season average

They mentioned it a few times, but still pretty unbelievable....Mia has 9 career hits against Canady, easily more than anyone else in the country and I'm pretty sure over a .500 average. And only one of those hits was in game 3 last night. She has 8 hits against a fresh, top of her game Canady. Absolutely insane to have that level of success against arguably the best pitcher in a decade.

Home depot had a little baseball game build for kids this morning.  You could pick men's or women's college world series stickers to put on it. He of course chose the women's in honor of the National Championship.

Plus they actually, you know, made the CWS.

Pitched the whole game, gave up walk off grand slam to Reese in game 1 ^

She pitched in relief in game 2 and had to work around a few walks, but ultimately no hits, no runs in 1.1 innings

Blew the save in game 3. Gave up 3 hits and 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th including a walk off single

Hopefully they dont actually ship without the "NS".

Would be weird walking around with a shit that says we are the Texas Longhor...

That’s covered by the sleeve of the front side image, eagle eyes. As is the s in champions.

That was nice.  Let's do it again next season.

I also want to thank JS1, troph, Pancho, and many others for sharing their knowledge and insight of softball, volleyball, women's basketball, and the other women's sports with the rest of us.  I've learned a lot from y'all.

The question is what will you say if Texas hammers Canady in game 3 and Kavan pitches lights out? Thats still very much in play since we will see Canady the 3rd time in 3 days while Kavan is rested.

I think we should have chased the win tonight but the entire strategy tonight was to set up favorable circumstances in game 3. What if those circumstances lead to an easy win?

This ended up being the right strategy.

Mike played it right. Rolling with a rested TK versus a tired Canady. And it very nearly could have worked in game 2

I overestimated Canady's capabilities, thought she could bring the heat in Game 3. Still think we win this in 2 games if we had gone to Kavan for Game 2. But I continue to unmercifully beat the fuck out of a dead horse.

I was just wondering if Plonsky was also banging Connie Clark. Not that I want that visual in my head.

I like how Mike White was thanking people in the administration last night and didnt even mention Plonsky. Thats all you need to know.

Maybe but there were risks in game 2 if we started Kavan. What if we lose and she's tired? What if she suffers an injury? The favorable circumstances were magnified much more in game 3 than in game 2.

I find myself enjoying Women’s sports more than Men’s anymore these days.

They play with joy and seem to have genuine love for their teammates. It’s quite refreshing.

Got the same. I will rock it in many places.

I watched the game with an aggy and a volunteer. We watch a lot of sports.

Yeah, they admitted I can claim WE ARE TEXAS.

Thank you @Js1 for keeping the thread rolling.

Yep very business like competitive team.   Makes them fun to watch compared to the rest of the prima donnas ruining the game currently.   College baseball isn't far from doing the same.

Damn I'm getting old, if I'm becoming the grump that hates the theatrics

Whole NYT/Athletic article posted the other day about TK and her no emotion pitching.

I'm not young by any means and I don't mind some of the theatrics on HR or double on  base celebrations, but those bats slams on walks are just plain ridiculous.....being as it is mostly done by OU makes it even more so.
