Spieth getting hammered at Buffalo Wild Wings waiting on his buddy (scheffler) after a mediocre weekend at the US Open…sounds like a surly poster (except substitute “local goat ranch” for “US Open”)

More names in the field this week than I thought there would be.

Scottie with an 8 under score of 62 to tie for the lead.

Quite the blatantly different conditions this week. Guess it makes for a good mental weekend, which those that played last week needed pretty bad.

Rory with a 64.

Reports of his demise were maybe exaggerated. Think his 67 on Sunday was the low round?

I think you’re right, and he was the lowest Sunday.

Had to feel good after the first three days. 😂

Jordan withdrew due to back/neck issues. Maybe he wanted to hit up it up again

Yeah, that didn’t age well at all.

“I’m still young enough that that doesn’t really bother me.”

Orly?

31 ain’t 21!

Scottie gives one back on 6, sitting real pretty for the bounce back on 7.

The guy he was tied with hasn't teed off yet, but highest on the course other than Scottie is Henley at -5 and he's on 17. Rest at the top will be on the course by 12:45.

ETA: JJ's +6 through 7.

Rory is the king of the Sunday backdoor though. Him acting all petulant and not talking to the media at the PGA was really weird.

He seems to be in his Big Ern phase. Very strange considering he had the golf world in his hand in April.

Scottie making an absolute mess of the first hole. Pretty rare.

Makes a triple.

I hope so.

Keegan gonna get inside his head today, win the event...and give Tommy nightmares at the Black course in September

I may have miscalculated, if Scottie gets in the clubhouse at -14 the pressure goes up with each par putt

I will never understand how people continue yelling random shit in public when the crowd inevitably turns to them with looks of disgust and embarrassment every time. And I'm someone who has ingested his fair share of alcohol and said his fair share of stupid shit in public. But golf bros are the absolute fucking worst. "Bruh, that was me yelling 'Light the candle!' to Scottie on 14."

These Traveler's Insurance commercials are intense. From "we'll call the Secret Service for your ass to get your money back" to "we'll go to the ends of the earth to find your lost dog."

Poor Tommy, but Keegan was stones. He needs to play in the Ryder Cup.

Can he realistically though? Feels like a lot to be a player and the captain. They kind of fucked him over (again) by making him the captain.

I switched over to the Dodgers, and came back to what was Tommy up 1 on 18 to Bradley winning it.  What happened?

5 foot putts are fucking hard.

The individual fans yelling stupid shit with the ball in the air are morons and always will be, but the overall crowd was insane down the stretch with some Ryder Cup vibes and Fleetwood withered. Nice preview for September.

Keegan has to play at this point. He energizes everything in that area of the country.

I agree it's a lot. But after the top 5-6 players, things get shaky for the US squad. Keegan's had a really good year.

He was a fantastic pick for captain at Bethpage Black. I feel good about the team's intensity and focus with him off the course, but even better with him on it.
