I cannot stand ABC's crew.

I don't know I find it endearing when R Jeff tells me that multiple Pacers fouled SGA to send him to the line - but that SGA's pushoffs are in the flow of the game.

Then a few minutes later compares SGA and JWill to MJ and Pippen.

Seriously, your obsession with the officiating isn't borderline Aggy, it's well past that.

We get it.

If you see him in public and punch him in the face, when you get out of the emergency room I’ll bail you out of jail. I’ll do that for you. Just a sucker punch as hard as you can right upside his stupid, bald, alien-looking dome.

Refs have been fine tonight. They had a few pretty horrific calls in the 1H (one that Carlisle had to overturn) and R Jeff was defending SGA like a fucking groupie - I'm assuming because ESPN told him to.

And SGA keeps diving into the 8th row of the stands like a goofball as we speak.

I don't think that you are up 3-2 because of the officiating. But we are allowed to comment on the officiating and we are allowed to dislike an extremely unlikeable basketball team.

The officiating has been a push.  There have been good and bad calls on both sides, like any other series.  The fouls and free throws are almost even.

For whatever reasons, these teams play badly at the other teams arena.

Lulz. Guessing you're not used to football season and this site's vaginal reaction to officiating?

Probably a thread on the football side with someone still contesting a holding call from January 10.

I'll let you confirm. Nothing will surprise.

The amount of bitching in this thread. Jesus, do you guys even like watching basketball? Jeez....

Watch the games. Have a beer. Enjoy life.

Yes, we like watching basketball. We all, unilaterally, hate when players take actions with the sole intent to draw a foul with zero intent to try to make a basket.

Yeah, I've seen threads over there about non Texas games and it's all about officiating.  It's weird.

No, it's about Texas games.  Where saps dissect every play as if we're somehow the only team that ever gets a bad call. In reality, the players do and always will decide the games. Except for the idiots that somehow laughably believe the officials are always against Texas and they choose to go down the path that we'll inevitably lose because of them.

Good to hear. We're getting a game 7, fellas. Should be fun.

You guys have a great weekend.

I’m curious to see the odds in a winner take all game 7 after OKC showed the lack of a killer instinct tonight.

I tend to agree OKC is the better team on the whole, but the problem with allowing it to go to a game 7 is that anything can happen in a single game— players get hot, players get cold, team makeup, chemistry, nerves, coaching etc are more magnified.

Pacers feel like the “team of destiny” and Halliburton with the game winner would be rejected from a literary agent because it’s too on-the-nose and fake underdog cliche, but stranger things could happen….

who am I kidding. Bandana, Pollyanna, lilweezyiana. OKC in 7.

This is nothing more than the Denver vs OKC series. Tied at 2, Denver blows the game in the 4th qtr of game 5, a game they dominated. Both teams also blow game 4s while up 2-1. Denver goes back home, blows out OKC by 90 and we get the same talk of OKC being young and inexperienced and no killer instinct. OKC then goes back home for a game 7 and the game was over in the 2nd qtr. But just like the Denver series, OKC is allowed to play Indiana the complete opposite of how Indiana can play OKC. Dort and Carruso can play football on defense. Shai and company can foul hunt as free throw merchants. Indiana racks up fouls, completely taking the air out of their sails. Dwayne Wade and James Harden on steroids.

Fuck OKC and their style of play and fuck the NBA for allowing Scott Foster to be openly called The Extender. He's as dirty as Donnaghy, and refereed game 7 of the Denver OKC series. Donnaghy was just the fall guy. The NBA was as crooked as could be under Stern. It's a little better now but it's painfully obvious the NBA wants Shai as their golden boy, so they manufactured a star with what they allow him to do. There was a video of I think Artest watching the game live and the second he saw Scott Foster as the ref for game 4, he immediately changed his shirt and said OKC has the game in the bag. He's a former player and knows first hand how dirty he is. Well not so much dirty as just doing the job the NBA sends him to do. He shouldn't be reffing YMCA league games, much less game 7s to decide a series.

Lol they might get 9.5 before it's over. These games are pretty much inevitable in this league. Game 5 winner of a 2-2 series, goes on the road and lays an egg in a blowout loss. Goes back home and blows the other team out. Game 7 won't make Indiana be something they aren't.

OKC gets an amazing whistle on offense and gets away with murder on defense. And the Dort flops on screens are just *chefs kiss*.

You said it better than I could.

And Foster did 2 games of the DEN-OKC series. Thunder won both easily.

Counterpoint: Indiana didn't need ref help tonight and they didn't get it. They straight up whipped OKC's ass. And despite whatever "extending" you believe in Indiana has no one to blame but themselves for losing G4.

The NBA may put their finger on the scale - but at the end of the day you have to play basketball. That's how it's always been. There's a reason San Antonio has 5 titles - because if you're good enough the league can't really do anything about it.

Also - Indy has been in every game this series. OKC beat Denver by 43 in G2. Where is that result so far? Tonight was the biggest ass-beating of the series. Indiana is a better team than the Nuggets or the Timberwolves and if they lose G7 it will be because OKC is better - not because the NBA wants to gift OKC the trophy.

---

On another note - I will agree that they are very obviously, forcefully, trying to push SGA as some next-gen superstar and it's one of the most hilariously tonedeaf things I've seen. I think you could replace him with like 10 guys from the past 20 years and OKC would be just as good.

He's obviously a phenomenal player but he isn't cool, he doesn't have any personality, and he plays like a fucking bitch. At least Harden was like - fucking strippers and not giving a shit and growing his beard out. I don't understand why they want this guy to be the next face of the league.

Hopefully he and OKC faceplant on Sunday but I'm not counting on it.

You conspiracy losers gotta fuck up this thread, this might be the dumbest conspiracy theory since qanon. The NBA really wants to make a Canadian who plays for the 3rd smallest market the face of the league because why? Quit watching if you think everything is rigged morons

I just hate watching flopping ass floppers. That's the gripe. If you enjoy watching OKC flop around on every play then good for you.

Shais game is pure bull shit. theres just a tiny correlation between Shais whistle in W's vs Losses.  look at the FTA differences.

https://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/4278073/shai-gilgeous-alexander

and I know you watch the damn games. If they allow a defender to play defense, Shai falls over on his own doing without being rewarded. Hes gotta pick himself back up because Indys running the other way with the ball. Ive never seen a star end up on his back so many times, its ridiculous. cant play lateral defense against him because he'll dip his shoulder, flail up some slop and be rewarded with 2 points basically. So surprise!!, a defender has to play conservatively so Shai suddenly has wide open mid range shots(with the help of his forearm separation which is normally an offensive foul that he gets utilizes nightly), his bread and butter.

again I think he's super talented without the whistle. but that just adds a whole other dimension to his game that he takes advantage of...and his OKC teammates all encourage it. just like they all fucking whine when they get called for a defensive foul after hacking the majority of the game and on the other end they high five each other when the opponent gets called for a foul for playing the exact defense OKC gets away with. Fuck this OKC team with the heat of a thousand suns. hope Indy boat races them Sunday

OKCs like the very good beer league softball team with each player who shows up with 2 bats in their backpack, filled with ringers who play 5 nights a week on 5 different teams and go crazy when the score is 24-4 in the 3rd inning after belting their 8th home run of the game.

Idk how or why that comparison sticks with me but it does after my beer league days. I’m sure Vic would understand it lol
