He said Quinn never played like this. The point being he did and in several games. I just gave one example. It's not the QBs; it's Sark's offense.

Bama 19-20 was Sarks offense also…. now whats the problem???

No crying from me, but we can all realize this team isnt going to the playoffs.

The performance on the field in this game is showing some real issues with the foundation of this team. Pointing it out isnt crying its being realistic.

Our D was on the field 39 minutes.

Basically double that of Kentucky.

You want to shit on Arch, our OL, Sark, our WRs or whatever, fine, but don't shit on the D.

Kentucky had long drives that gave them all that possession time, you stop them and you get off the field.

“Good” is relative—and not the right word— with this offense but:

Ohio st: poor

San Jose st: good

UTEP: poor

Sam Houston: good

Florida: poor

Oklahoma: good

Kentucky: poor

extrapolate that out,

Miss St: good

Vandy: poor

UGA: good

arky: poor

A&M: good

win the “good” games and a poor game against Arky leaves you with 1 remaining loss (to Vandy).

a man can dream

One game doesn't make a trend. His offense has chocked against elite competition in almost every game he has been here.

That Cotton Bowl game against Miami might be the worse Texas loss ever considering what was on the line.

I sat on the 40 yard line about 20 rows up in the Cotton Bowl to see that debacle. It still haunts me to this day.  I believe Miami set a record for penalties if I’m not mistaken.

Are you comparing him with the third-year Quinn? Quinn would have made the intermediate throws but he would also have been sacked many more times and would have missed some of the tight strikes that Arch did. What you're experiencing is the recency bias.

Where do you guys get this "Quinn would be sacked many more times"? Somehow you think what Arch does is what Quinn would do. Quinn gets rid of the football and is going to hit receivers that are open. So all the blitzing KY was doing dont happen. Last year almost everyone played us with a light box because they aere afraid of Quinn lighting us up. That said Arch doesn't get the same respect and if you were paying attention tonight we KY had the box loaded up and refused to allow us to run on them.

Elite defenses don't get pushed around by Kentucky.

Without our elite defense you would be witnessing something that might get Sark James Franklin’d. Like, 2-5 with a couple of 30 point losses. I don’t think you understand what our D is doing for us.

You do know that we did just that in the first half right? If your offense gets 171 total yards and has 44 yards rushing a defense tires out in the second half.

This isn't complicated, but you wont get it.

Here’s the problem with that. Football is complementary. You think for one second PK doesn’t know what’s going in with the offensive side of the ball?  He absolutely does and so he knows the one thing he can’t do is allow the opposition to get quick points in buckets early and bury things before they ever really get started. So he sets up the defense to prevent that. The expense is you get a lot of the dink and dunk and underneath stuff that KY got tonight (and Florida got at the beginning of that game and hell OU was getting early as well). You then tighten up as the field shrinks as we generally have and hold them to minimal points for their efforts.

Fielding an all out attack defense that was vulnerable to tons of big chunk plays and sudden scores would be a fucking disaster for this team.

PK is the one coach who seems to know what the fuck he is trying to do strategically given the abilities of his unit and the overall team.

This requires a basic level of fundamental football knowledge.

Pretty sure that's beyond his comprehension.

Sark is gonna manage the fuck out of the score in that game.  I expect a ton of short passes, manning runs, other runs, just to try to keep the clock running.

Better do the same with Vandy. That game could be ugly.

We play too tight on offense for some reason, which usually makes you do stupid things in the most inopportune moment. Maybe our attitude is a reflection of how Sark is.

That false start to start the final drive in the fourth quarter should be more than enough to fire his ass. I knew it was going to happen before it did, but damn it should not be continuing to happen. I may need to step away from this team for a few weeks. I am the definition of insanity thinking Sark is going to give us a different result after the same bullshit week after miserable week.

That’s such a tone deaf response.  You understand that when the offense doesn’t pick up first downs that the defense is out there for the majority of the game and therefore leads to fatigue, mistakes, etc…

Was the defense perfect… no.  But they absolutely won the game for Texas today.  And 2 niblett special teams returns.  The defense can only stop them so many times.

I get it just fine and we have lots of depth on defense. Kentucky did make plays on offense and had long drives.

This is 2010 all over again. The stupidest people around me at games would get furious when the defense would give up a first down in the fourth quarter in a game we were losing 7-6 when the D had been on the field all game.

You should be saying nothing but “thank you” to our defense for allowing us to not be the biggest embarrassment in college football.

texas performance today was completely unacceptable, because almost all of their wounds were self inflicted.  ridiculous mistakes, poor decision making, questionable playcalling, and just some utter incompetence.

that said, im not sure kentucky is quite as bad as people want to make them out to be.  last year they nearly beat georgia, vandy and tennessee, beat ole miss on the road, and even gave texas a bit of a challenge in austin.  earlier this year they gave ole miss a pretty big scare again.  they arent a great football team, but i dont think they are complete garbage as some are saying.  and texas is a young team still growing, with an inexperienced QB getting some solid tests in hostile road environments.  im curious to see if they grow from this, or crumble.

and tbh struggling against teams like this isnt exactly new territory for texas either.  lets not forget two years ago they were challenged pretty good by houston, tcu and iowa state, while losing a game they had no business losing to OU, but that season still turned out pretty solid.  even last year, the games against vandy, arkansas and kentucky were all much closer than they should have been.

this team isnt exactly looking like a championship contender, but if they improve as a talented young team should, they absolutely can still compete to play for the SEC championship and a playoff spot.

Halloween is still 13 days away, Bill Little

Arch sucks ass.  Sark needs to give up OC duties and we need to spend $ on the OL like we do the DL.  Arch inability to play pitch and catch is a sign he’s not a Texas level qb 1.  We need to cut our losses and move on period end of story. Newman HS in New Orleans masked his talent.  Nice kid , good athlete but he’s a group of 5 QB

This! The Kentucky folks next to me were saying how bad he was. One OG said that Arch is in the same suck category as David Ash and Garrett Gilbert.

Nailing the PK hire is the reason Sark is still employed, or at the very least in a very hot seat.

We're also lucky Kenticky's OC and HC appear to have had mini strokes at several points during the game, including Kentucky's goal to go series in OT.

What I don’t get is he was making the throws this year. I’m accepting the fact that the hype all year got to him and he has what golfers would call the yips. Yes the line is a huge issue but if we probably had 95% of the other QBs that played today, we would have easily won. If their qb played for us, we would have dominated. I get it but it’s tough because Caldwell should get some snaps just to see but he missed another 4 wide open throws today that would have set up scores.

44% completion percentage against the worst D in the SEC? No quicker way to lose a team then to give a guy who is playing as badly as Arch a pass and not benching him for someone else.

I thought Auburn was stupid as fuck for continuing to run Jackson Arnold out there but we’re just as stupid for continuing to run manning out there.

The chances of us improving enough to go to the SEC championship game and playoffs is slim
