Im just furious at that dumbass 40 yard attempt to mosely with 9 min left… instead of running the ball, using another 40 seconds, and kicking the fg

it was an atrocious play call and completely out of sync with rest of games play calls

Apparently, to get it sponsored and make more money.

Noticed that too. My pure guess is the editors absolutely knew it was incorrect too and replaying it would throw gas on a fire they wanted no part of prior to general public opinion being aired. This way they don't come down on the wrong side of the masses' opinion. I am guessing it will come up more this week, but we shall see.

Why would they want to mention it?  Some of those boneheads (like the SEC  Network wrap up show)  have Vandy still making the playoffs in their brackets. That call along with the other non sense that went on late in game if they covered it correctly would blow up the narrative the game was close.

And if vandy came back to tie and then win, then that two point conversion would be all over the highlight shows.    But it didn't happen that way.  Not everything is a conspiracy.

The idea that the SEC or college football playoff committee etc etc wants vandy vs our ratings and money is just silly.

How about the referees getting together after the last onside kick clearly went out of bounds. They probably discussed is there any chance they can screw us again, but realized it was too blatant..

No people are saying the networks specifically the SEC network aren't bring it up for reasons.   I am saying, they didn't bring the 2pt conversion up because in the end, it didn't matter.

I don't think anyone is saying it's a grand conspiracy to get Vandy in the playoffs. Rather, that particular call combined with others is highly suspect. The refs are regular humans, and the record clearly reflects biases and choices can directly impact their choices in game. What exactly happened or why is anyone's guess, but rather than some grand conspiracy its likely a particular individual.

It's pretty clear if you watch Georgia gets a lot of officiating love.

Texas in the Big XII got a lot of officiating hate.

Okie State was a fix and you can't convince me otherwise.

That 2 point conversion flew in the face of the entire reasons for official review. If extremely clear camera angles dispute the horrible on field call, yet it's not overturned, the reviews are worthless and a waste of time. Get rid of them or investigate the idiots making such egregious errors.

On the 2-pointer: I know it's emotional, but the high angle (@ the ref's POV) showed the laces possibly breaking the plane, which would make it a score, and since the ref was right there and quickly called it a score, they weren't going to overturn the call on the field. So just shut up about it.

Without Eli Stowers, Pavia is absolute dog shit. Wheh your leading receiver for your entire team is a TE for two straight seasons, you know you aren't shit and there is no "great story." He's been carried by a possible first but most likely a second day pick his entire career.

Here's what his amazing stat line would have looked like without Stowers -

20/31 219/1  64% comp pct

Yeah, such a dawg.

I will give Junior Sherrill props, even though he benefitted from Stowers needing to be double covered.

Sunday

Bobby Burton

By Bobby Burton

For those of us wondering what Arch Manning would look like in a Quinn Ewers-style offense or perhaps how he would perform with good pass protection, well, our questions were answered…

With an exclamation point.

Manning was nothing short of phenomenal yesterday.

Completing 25 of 33 passes for 328 yards and 3 TDs, he was precision-like to the point where the opponent had no answers.

Many who watched this game will focus on the near collapse of the Texas pass defense in the fourth quarter. And yes that is of concern, though Texas was missing two starters almost the entire game at safety.

But one of the real takeaways from this contest, the thing that should stick with every Texas fan, was the sheer dominance of Manning and the Texas offense.

The Texas offense was so consistent and so on point that they were not even forced to punt until the fourth quarter. Every possession felt like a real opportunity to put more points on the board.

And Manning was the center piece of it all. Manning and his receivers dissected Vanderbilt and Clark Lea’s defense like a vulture does roadkill. They picked apart every little scrap of meat off the bone.

Manning did it in the short game, in the intermediate game and he can complete the long ball, too (or at least he could if there wasn’t a pass interference no-call).

There is literally no pass he can’t make… if he has the time.

While many will focus on the issues of the Texas secondary, those things can largely be fixed with healthier players. What can’t be fixed or as easily recreated is the play of Manning and the time he was given by the offensive line.

He was nothing short of phenomenal. And none of it looked forced.

If the OL can give Manning time, Texas has a chance to win every game left on its schedule.

**

A young Texas team is growing up before our eyes.

Four straight games decided in the fourth quarter or overtime have resulted in four straight wins.

That doesn’t just happen. It’s not merely luck.

The Longhorns are growing up. And I still think they can play even better.

**

While ESPN highlights are focusing on the Vandy comeback, that’s not the real takeaway from this game. Not for me at least.

The real takeaways are 1) Manning, when given time, can lead this team and the offense as far as it will go, and 2) a young Longhorn team is learning to win.

The issue isnt whether or not the ball crossed the plane. The laces crossed upon further review, or at least I can buy that from the camera shit

The real issue is that there was NO FUCKING WAY any ref could see that during the live play. Zero. Not without a microscope

If it was called “no good” on the field, it would have probably stayed “no good” on review. The fact that that was called good live action during the play is nuts

Our head coach took issue with it so much so he's requesting investigation, the Texas player on the field took issue with it at the time, many fans including myself took issue with it.

Then there is the fucking photo evidence. It was REVIEWED. Look at the images below.

Choosing to ignore evidence and insist upon yourself by telling others to shut up is really fucking dumb. Particularly when the god damn evidence doesn't support you nor the refs position.

Visual evidence! Not supposition nor guesses.

Also, you're on a Texas message board. In the game thread of a Texas message board during which the incident occurred. You are telling us to shut up about an obviously incorrect call based on all available evidence in the game thread the morning after the game.

Go fuck yourself dude.

That first shot shows you how close it was, how the laces may be touching, and that the ref might (low percentage IMO) could have been correct. The last one (the "Offset" one) isn't about being offset (though the camera is offset a little), it's about the wide angle distortion.

There was enough fuckery from the refs to not think this one was a set up. And it's very easy for Sark to lodge a complaint and satisfy the rubes in his fanbase.

Edit for your edit: I'm posting about it the next day, when morons like you are still calling it some kind of conspiracy.

Holy fucking shit that's a horrible take.

And no, with good quality image you can see green between the football and the goal line in the overhead view.

Want to ignore evidence, fine.

As the play happens, the ref has to make a call. Do you expect a ref to just shrug on a play like this? It was close enough that even with video replay one must study it to decide.

I don't believe in that fraction of a second a ref calculates all the stuff some here are claiming he did. Incompetence or errors do not constitute conspiracy. I hated sitting near rage addicts at games.

Why do you care what others are discussing in a thread for the game on a Texas discussion board.

No, it didn't. The closest the ball was at the pylon. It didn't touch the pylon, therefore it never crossed at anytime before that.

My buddies and I came off my couch as soon as the ball landed. We were for sure he caught it. Then, when we saw he didn't, but was basically being put in a chokehold, we were all pissed. Neither of them even have Texas ties, but seeing Pavia's mouth being shoved into his own asshole was enough for them to care. One is a Penn grad and the other UNC, but seeing Manning absolutely dominate, and Pavia getting sacked 6 fucking times was heroin. That got them pumped. So pissed about the no-call DPI.

Fuck those refs. Seriously, fuck em.

The replay was undisputable. The ball crossed right in front of the pylon at the absolute closet point it got to the goal line. There is no reason to look at any angles or any other frame. If it had touched the pylon, you'd have to look at whether the player was inbounds. Since it didn't, it should have been an obvious overturn. We don't need to guess whether a lace could have been over the line at some prior point. We know it wasn't because it didn't touch the pylon. It is just how the physics of our world works.

I don't know what you're talking about, honestly. The pylon shot was through a distorted lens (yes, slightly offset) and not dispositive. The best shot was from the ref's POV and it was super-close (I still think it was a bad call, should have gone to the D).

The angle doesn't fucking matter. The ball crossed at the pylon. It either touched it or it didn't. The pylon is the very edge of the goal line. If it didn't touch the pylon, it didn't break the goal line.

the offsetting foul wasn’t related to Pavia being a pussy, it happened in the back of the end zone but I guess cameras didn’t catch it.  Their WR slung our DB to the ground out the back of the end zone and he got up and shoved him in the chest.
