I love Vokietaitas's physicality.

I see a big skinny white kid, I get worries about how physical they're going to be. No worries with that kid.

I see a future hated Texas player in our opponents' future.

I understand there's some polish needed, but easier to coach polish than toughness. You either have it or you don't.

Traore has been a mess.

out of control.  Traore needs to just slow down a bit.

When’s the last time he played an actual game?  He should be rusty.

Last possession was a waste.

But we're up at half. I'm going to love how they talk about all the things Duke did so well in the first half if the Blue Devils go in to the locker room down by one.

He's got grit zero question.

Trust the coach to polish him i suppose.

Night and day difference between the toughness, rebounding and defense inside from last year … hoping mark and pope start getting comfortable … they look like they aren’t sure what we are trying for I run on offense

I think this team can hang with anyone if we can hit some outside shots

If he can learn a drop step, he will be problem down low.

How about the rebounding. What a refreshing change.

Beard level D

Team height to compete with sec

Uncharacteristically good FT shooting

Horrible at the rim finishing

And characteristically Texas shitty outside shooting

All true but Duke plays really good D as well.  Very encouraging so far.

Vok is NOT a skinny white kid. He is muscular AF for a sophomore 7 footer. And he wants to create contact and bang. Wonderful to see.

I was actually mildly pleased with Traore. That dude is a gifted rebounder. If you just watch him, he is always getting in position and has great rebounding instincts. He is just a little out of control right now, but is getting back from injury.

The guards (Wilcher, mark and pope) are shooting 1 for 7 with 1 assist (I count weaver as a small forward) …. If we can get about 15 points and 5-7 assists total from them a game we should be pretty stout

Yes. I agree. That was my first impression. My first impression was wrong.
