Can we be politically honest here for a second. Nobody outside of the very politically online set in certain geographical regions even knew that there was important democracy taking place today.

I’m normally in agreement on claims like this, but you’re flat out wrong here.  The Mamdani stuff absolutely crossed over into normie world.

I've heard this before. I can ask the first ten people I see tomorrow if they voted today, and how many of them are interesting the NYC Mayor race and I would wager any amount you wish on under with a o/u  line set at 1.5.

I sure hope that nobody with power decides that mamdani needs to be potus in 28.  I think we’ve proven pretty convincingly that not enough people are ready for something other than white Christian man.

Yes, nobody outside the very politically online knew that there was important democrary taking place tonight.

So much, so, that citizens of a deep red state contacted their state reps wondering why they weren’t voting and everyone else was not realizing their state isn’t in an election season or a special election.

Let's assume the original premise was correct.  The only people that were aware of any of these elections were the people of those states and a very small minority online.

What would we need to be "politically honest" about?  The NYC mayoral election holds less weight?  California being able to re-district for the upcoming 2028 election is no longer a valid win for the democrats?

Sounds like someone trying to act like they're playing 5D chess and the rest of us are too stupid to realize it.

It is not that hard. You don't need to strawmen. Simply put, the vast majority of America didn't even know democracy was happening today.

Everyone in my circle did. Maybe hang out with better citizens. Just saying.

Its not about your curated circle or mine. I assume that we can both circulate in public. Same wager offered...

I have never welched on a bet here, and I have been very generous in terms of not requiring proof of payment on the ones the went my way.

Too bad we don't have access to the posts from ca. 2017 elections to back test on.

That would be so rad. Too bad indeed.

I'd just like to take this time to point out that outside of college football fans, current students of the University of Texas and Vanderbilt, and the alumni of those schools, the vast majority of the United States is unaware that Arch played very well this Saturday.  Just saying.

Thank you, captain obvious.

Look guys. I tried to compliment you on the regional wins and my perspective on the general merit of having political differences that play out in the real world. Viva la difference.

But miss me when you get too expansive on the broader political strokes. Thought yall may have learned something watching these cycles play out from 2016-2018-2020-2022-2024, but maybe not.

I’m pretty bummed we didn’t win the presidency today.

I got to admit. I laughed at the thread title of "Election Day 2025"

There should be a limit to how many times per page someone can post

They held a vote on that tonight but not enough people voted so it doesn't count.

Overall a solid night but i cant help but feel like it’s winning a tier two bowl game or NIT

When you feel like your program has been operating under the death penalty for a full year--and apathy and ignorance seems rampant--the NIT is pretty sweet.

1st Question: What is your native language?

2nd Question: What is/was the native language of the people who raised you?

What kind of a stupid gotcha is this?

I got a great ethnic background story if you want to hear it. And if you want to question my day to day exposure, I will clown you.

It is your incorrect conjugation of a verb… twice… that is never a mistake made by native English speakers that had me wondering if you were a bot or just someone who didn’t grow up with English in the house.

Others’ interactions with you led me to believe that you were a known member, not a bot. So then I wondered what language or languages hampered your English.

I have fiends from all over the world and visited some in 6 of the 7 countries that I visited this summer. I am familiar with a lack of understanding when to use various conjugations of a verb. Your errors varied from typical poor grammar of a native English speaker.

I didn’t encounter the errors in Cuba or Miami last month, but that’s because I was speaking Spanish whenever I could.

So what were the native languages of the people who raised you?

Probably more like University of Florida fans right now.  Could your school screw up the coaching hire again?  Absolutely.  But if the alternative was keeping Sunbelt Billy around for another 1.5 seasons, you're thrilled.
