Is the rest of the team gonna have to eat beans during the fall?

Burnt toast

We've got the skill talent now if we can get 2-3 more OL we will be absolutely killing it. Elite talent at RB suddenly makes the OL look decent (go back and watch Bijan behind a shit offensive line).

Also Arch's wheels and more quick hitters/screens to speed guys will keep defenses from being able to get too wild on pass rush.

Pretty funny now after seeing a few skill guys portal out everyone online was like OH GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING TO TEXAS THEY ARE FALLING APART!

But in reality they were told they are getting upgrades at your position you won't get the same snaps so consider going getting a bag somewhere else.

NEW TEXAS FRESHMAN moving into dorms today too...

@Hank_Hill knows what's up, he is just an optimist when it comes to recruiting. I am not.

We've been shit at evaluating inside offensive linemen all of Sark's tenure here. Now the same people who missed on evals the first time are in charge of making a second evaluation. We portaled in Keilan Robinson, AD Mitchell, and Golden. We've not portaled in a single O-lineman that can help us. Again, skill players don't help if you can't block enough to get the ball. WE HAVE TO GET SOME LINEMEN.

#1 WR....check! #1 LB....check! #2 & #5 backs.....check! #6 DL.....check! #4 CB.....check. Williams and Black coming back....check! Things are gonna be okay. There isn't much left in the portal offensive line wise, but it's possible players could still jump in. The sky is falling.

This is the outcome that solidifies our new horror film "Nightmare on Rainey Street" as the new horror film franchise. It will be right there with "Halloween, "Friday the 13th," "Scream," and all the others.

Our first installment ends when the murders suddenly stop on Rainey Street and police are baffled and wonder if they will ever solve this serial killer mystery.

Little do they know that the killings have only ceased "for now" because of the signing of Cam Coleman.

Our killer watches and waits and could be triggered again at any time things go astray again.

The BMDs are awesome. Now the expectations are even higher.

We all type fast with two thumbs and without complete copywriting efforts from time to time- pretty sure he’s not saying there’s no room for improvement on the skill side - he’s railed on the WR output at times - but get this - if Sark isn’t a stubborn mule on his offensive sets and play calling, if we had an OL pipeline like Sark says is needed in the SECx3, if he opened the WR rotation to freshmen 5* (one of a few positions freshman can really contribute) , if he had some god damned discipline on the OL (penalties) then Texas is a deep run play off team this year. No one is saying sark isn’t trying right now, but his flaws are fatal absent some heroic football by some of the guys on and coming to the roster. Frankly, it wasn’t much different the last two years either there were just better players so Texas got closer.

I'm told now that the SEC hasn't made the title game in 3 years that the SEC sucks and somehow the Big10 and ACC are really tough lol

how about no depth at all?

if the .xls is correct, after robertson, the next center on the roster isn't even on campus yet and is an EE that's going to shirt

that's right

center, snapper, deep snapper, current depth is:

2026 senior: 0

2027 senior: 0

2028 senior: 0

2029 senior: 0

We lost 6 offensive linemen and got one back. This is a huge issue. We better hope we get the young guys coached up fast. The good thing is Muschamp's defense will help the linemen get ready for the season. I am a firm believer that the reason Colt's O-line was decent despite the lack of talent was because they had to face Boom's defense everyday.

feeling better, but we still need to get more guys on OL and depth on defense and maybe 1 more WR for depth

In our new world, depth will always be a problem. The depth if it is any good will be portaling at the end of the season or more troubling redshirting during the season. I suggest making in season redshirting a serious felony. If asked the Leg. will pass it.

not surprised that we have the right story/offer for guys that see arch as their path to the 2nd round

devastated that the 6 or 7 OL signings required to tread water during the flood disaster have totalled 1

Much dryer.

Yall told me Texas was bad at this portal thing. Disappointed World Cup GIF by Goldmaster

You would think looking at the portal talent we just added we checked a lot of boxes that would be VERY appealing for an OL prospect to block for. You also never know who might come into the portal off Miami and Indiana for example from their depth charts? Do I wish we had some more warm bodies at OL? OF course. But I am pretty pleased at how my extreme worries at LB and RB have been addressed. Simply as my fear was lack of OL potentially was going to scare off the guys we just got!

You also have to think from a purely budgetary perspective having Coleman, Smother and Biles aboard, makes you budgeting a little easier.

I have a feeling we may all be feeling pretty fucking good about this crazy ass portal shit before long. But today is a beautiful day... and it's not over yet!

I thought that was what made star rankings...

Someone who has never played a down has a lot of potential. My son who played one year of defense and led his team in tackles as a 5'7" 150 lb OLB has a lot of potential.

Production matters more than potential and measurable. It shouldn't even have been a topic for discussion. But alas, we are here.

Wrong, potential means ain't done nothing yet. Your son has done something. Good for him.

Some variables that cant be replicated:

1) You’re just not going to portal a QB like Mendoza every year

2) The extra covid year will be cycling off

3) Indiana has an exceptional coach. Put that same roster management in the hands of Tom Herman and see what happens. Mendoza’s used as a battering ram, your secondary is blowing their shoulders out, and when a player comes to the head coaches office, hes wiping the blow from his nostrils.

Deion Sanders strategy is a good demonstration of how relying on the portal can be disastrous

Just changed my depends and ready to go again until we send a starting interior lineman and utility linemen.

3 or 4 of those and 2 or 3 solid P4 guys allows universal enchubbenment

We are not signing 7 offensive linemen out of the portal. What kind of expectation is that?

one based on the asswater disaster that kept us out of the playoffs

this is worse than mack mailing it in

this is worse than no depth

this is worse than stroh

sark and flood have taken us to defcon 2

florida proved it: no one can win with asswater

we are 1 Play Away from asswater

This is why Ty Haywood should be looked at closely, there's just not that many quality lineman out there to get.

This guy was a bigger recruit than Goosby and look what Goosby did as a redshirt freshman.

Being from Denton Ryan High doesn't hurt either and was the jewel of their O-line class at Michigan.

Edited by NBHorn7

Pretty concerned about the lack of effort on the offensive side of the ball after those commits

They've filled every other need, but I'm sure the staff completely forgot about OL and is doing absolutely nothing about it. Some of you are the most miserable folks I have ever come across.

Well I could wait and see if Sark gets OL depth in the next week or I can just be angry that it hasn't happened already. Tough call.

if last season's asswater flood had not occurred the plane would have not already hit the mountain

if the strategery was FIRST get the arch supporting cast, SECOND get him protection, if this is by design, then we have nothing to worry about

tough call

Momentum is undeniable right now, I’d assume we get some decent bigs the next few days.

That wasn’t the plan, Harris was big game hunting on the OL straight up and whiffed.
