6th straight series win taking the 1st 2 games.

21-6 since the Minnesota series, and that's with the dead weight that is White, Kemp, and Gurriel while losing Altuve, Springer, and Correa.

You forgot the White Sox split last week but I get your point.

Yes, they are 12-0 in the last 6 series games 1&2. 4-5 in the remaining games of those series.

8-0-1 in last 9 series.

2-0 in 33 game stretch before asb

2-0 in 18 game stretch vs mediocre teams. would be nice to get some guys back by june 20th series @nyy.

A couple of 2018 picks had nice days at the ballpark.

Good series win.  It would be nice to finish off the sweep this time.

Yeah, knocking them back 3 games despite all the injuries would be a pretty good gut punch for the A's.

c'mon rookies.  Grab a broom...or bat,  and make yourself useful.

Guessing just a regular rest day, but no Tucker for Round Rock today.

Today is the first day he can be called up without it costing the Astros a year of control (if he were to stay up the rest of the year).

I think fisher gets the rest of this road trip before they make the tucker / fisher decision

It’s a good problem to have but suuuuuuuucks for the guys stuck in the minors

i just hope we avoid the AJ reed situation, holding onto a prospect too long and not getting anything in return

Fisher’s the only one close to being in that boat right now and they’ve still managed to get him some time.
Just hope he gets hot for the next month.

Pick 3 - fisher / straw / kemp / white

Pick 1 - a young arm (not Whitley or Bukaukas)

that should be enough to get a quality  #2/3 starter

mariners and nationals are sellers

hell, throw in reed too

It'll be interesting to see what happens with mid-season trades this year with the hard July 31 deadline. It would seem reasonable to expect the timetable of serious trade talks to move up. We are now about 8 weeks from the deadline, so could get interesting in the next few weeks.

I'd expect to see the Astros begin "cashing in" some of the guys that figure to be squeezed from the roster (Fisher, White, Straw, etc) like they did with JD Davis. Maybe they include some of them in a trade to upgrade the rotation, but they may also just trade them for lower-level prospects to get something for them (this seems like it will be White's fate).

I'm sure they want to know more about the injuries to Springer/Altuve/Diaz and when they are likely to be back to 100% before really settling in on a plan of action.

I’m hoping Lunhow has some injury updates during the radio pregame today

Seattle pitching matchups:

Mon: RHP Corbin Martin (1-1, 5.51) vs. LHP Wade LeBlanc (2-2, 6.99)

Tues: LHP Wade Miley (5-3, 3.25) vs. TBA

Wed: RHP Brad Peacock (5-2, 3.17) vs. RHP Mike Leake (4-6, 4.71)

Thur: Justin Verlander (9-2 2.27) vs. LHP Tommy Milone (1-1, 3.60)

There is only explanation for sitting Tyler White against a lefty starter yesterday with Altuve, Springer, Correa, and Diaz out, especially knowing that they are starting a right hander today.  White is on the move for Scherzer, possibly straight up if the Nats are willing to eat some of Scherzer's contract.

Lefty heavy lineup. (No White jokes)

Left Heavy on the bench you mean

(Plenty of White jokes)

There’s UTexasFight, tall lanky fucker, black shirt, walking into the frame on the right with arm extended.

I told my 4 yo to get ready when he came to the plate. But had him positioned 30’ too shallow.

Should have known

Alvarez's swing is so effortless.  Looks like he's hitting grounders for taking infield.

And IBB second plate appearance.
Lulz

And IBB third plate appearance.
Round Rock really needs to stop hitting doubles a batter or two in front of him

We're gonna get you the second big league hit today Mayfield.

Per hinch, Diaz will get a rehab assignment before coming back. He’ll be the first one back

Per lunhow, expecting joe Smith back before the all star break

Martin’s development is not hurting this team. The plan is to give him a long look as a starter

Springer the furthest away from coming back. Damn

Josh Rojas is showing lot of promise in AA/AAA. In the mix for a call up

alvarez will be LF / DH, when called up. He’ll get a call up this season, sounded like sept

Astros minor league system has less arm injuries than the rest of league.

Nothing about Altuve?

All he said was Diaz will be back before Altuve.

He did say lot of agents contacted him about trades when all the injuries hit. The plan is to let the new kids play and prove themselves

I am worried he's still not healed from last year and they aren't sure how long it's going to take.
