Seems like good news: According to Nick Harris of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Cowboys running back Jaydon Blue suffered a bone bruise in his heel on Thursday. Blue was stepped on during practice, initially looking at an ankle sprain. Thankfully, the MRI came back with some positive news. “Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue’s MRI revealed a bone bruise in his heel after it was stepped on in today’s practice, according to a @startelegram source,” Harris said via X. “No ankle sprain. Good news for the young back who has emerged as an offensive playmaker in camp.” Blue previously told Harris that an ankle injury was what he suffered. Questions about the running back’s availability for Saturday’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams are now present. Something to watch as kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT from SoFi Stadium. Dallas took Blue in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, hoping to address its running back situation. Blue played his college ball inside the Lone Star State, suiting up for the Texas Longhorns. Plenty of guys at the position have come out of Austin and found quick success. Blue is hoping to be the next one. For now, there is an injury for him to deal with. No exact timeline has been provided per a report or by a team official. Hopefully, Blue is able to get things cleared up quickly and get his first taste of the NFL before Sept. 4’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Texas A&M Football 2025 - On the Edge of Glory(holes)

Well, lets look at their schedule. This is just off the cuff without any real depth. UTSA - W Utah State - W @ND - L Auburn - This isn't an easy call W/L MSU - W Florida- L (I think a big L) @Pig Arkansas loves to give this one away - W @LSU These are two bad teams. I'll give it to LSU cause @ - L but possible W @Missouri - I'm torn here - L South Carolina - W/L but I have a weird pro SC bias this coming year for some reason Samford - W @Texas - L 7-8 wins and 5-6 losses. I think Auburn, Missouri and SC are what determines the aggy season. I believe Texas, ND and Florida are pretty much locks for the L column. Pig and LSU are weird ones as they seem to be on similar levels. SC is better coached and has an actual QB who is good. Its aggie so they will probably win one they shouldn't on some weird shit and lose one they shouldn't. Or.. in more concise terms they'll find a way to 7-6 or...more likely 8-5 -

Bud’s a lot of things. Mainly a hopeless FSU fan, but he’s an attorney and very plugged in. To outright dismiss him would be unwise. Regardless, Tech would be wise to spread it around to build a real roster. The Ojo money likely buys a starting OL for instance.

Javier's is so packed they strictly enforce 2 hours at the table. Food is consistently excellent - those Dungeness crab enchiladas...

This is clearly an AI bot with one of you sick bastards feeding lucci in as training content and then throwing in a few prompts after your third bourbon and seeing what it spits out

Archie never took a snap at Texas. Advantage: Arch.

Good thought exercise. I love watching old John Wayne movies. That’s be tough to leave behind. The problem is he predates much of modern cinema, probably the farthest I could go back is 1972. The Cowboys is a great if heartbreaking film. You’d also get : - The Godfather - Jeremiah Johnson - The Poseidon Adventure - The Candidate - Joe Kidd - Snoopy Come Home - Super Fly - The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean - Across 110th Street (awesome soundtrack)

Great episode. Dexter playing chess while the other psychos are playing checkers.

I mean, Graham's not wrong. Despite all the hype, all the expectations, and all the media coverage, can anyone remember a single time Arch has been to a Pro Bowl or earned NFC player of the year?
-
Yeah, f that, remember when the menu was 59, 79, 99. Show up with $3 plus a coupla coins for tax, and you got 5 items.

Saw this earlier today. Tomorrow (8/8) will mark two years since the fires. I still have somewhat of a hard time dealing with this, having watched it all unfold from up on the hill. I can't imagine what it would feel like to have been in the impact zone that day and/or to have had to deal with the aftermath over the past couple of years. Prayers up to Lahaina town. If you visit, please be respectful, don't book short term rentals from those who aren't local, and support local businesses. https://www.hawaiimagazine.com/lahaina-two-years-after-wildfires/

I agree with all of this. Everything I hear is positive with regard to the locker room. Everyone on the team gets paid a baseline, as well, even walk ons, unless that has changed from the original policy. I don't believe it has. It's impossible the have no resentment in any locker room but they are doing their best to take care of everyone fairly. This season is important but I don't think it's make or break as much as it's a proof of concept. Sustaining the practice going forward will be how the program is built.

99 on the northwest side is fucked so bad with traffic they're about to expand it. < 3 miles to daikin from here -
That number is completely made up, there's a 0% chance he did anything but pull that out of his ass for clicks. It is what it is. No one is saying Lubbock is a destination city lmao, just that many traditionally strong football schools are located in non-destination cities. It doesn't matter nearly as much as you want it to, especially now that it's much more about business. It's absolutely wild what a hornet's nest shit like this stirs up. Ohio State spent a gazillion dollars on a roster to win a natty, no one says a word, Arkansas spent more than anyone else to end up with an NCAA tourney 10 seed, etc etc, but Tech spending a mint to try and build a program is unacceptable to so many. I'm not saying that's the sentiment on Surly, it's just the wild shit I see on Twitter etc from SEC fans.

Someone, sorry don't recall who, did a chatGBT mock up of one of his pieces. It was really similar, iirc, sans some specific detail editing that would have polished it off. But yeah, Graham from Auburn absolutely has the aggie rhythm, cadence and content formula tied down. Thing is, his writing doesn't bother me at all, despite being full on aggie. It's more jealous in a "why didn't I think of that" way.

I think you’re confusing that with frankincense and myrrh

I floated out the following and I'll put it here for thought. I've previously found spaces in restaurants/bars for groups as part of a "tailgate" plan. Typically, less sports bar more local bar/restaurants tend to be more amenable to non-home team fans and affordable. In short, find a place we can all meet in the 11-2 range, eat some lunch, watch early games and have libations prior to heading to a actual tailgate closer to the stadium or wherever. I'm not at all tied to the idea, but have reached out to get an idea of price for space and potentially food. I'll report back cost here and gage interest from folks traveling in the thread.

The test for TT’s approach is already being taken- after paying a premium to sign new players (NFL free agency has shown that key additions can make a huge difference), are they also taking care of current players, too? To keep the locker together? The2022 Ags didn’t. Veterans were getting fractions of what the new blue chip freshmen were getting. They (justifiably) felt taken advantage of. Get into a tight game with App State, an assistant entreats the starters and key backups to dig deeper, and they think, “Why don’t you ask the freshman over there to win the game? He’s the one getting all the money”. This season will show how TT handled it.
