  1. Past hour
  2. No to the Nebraska/Rutgers guy. Actually, Fuck No.
  3. I strongly suspect on long shit like this there's a cadre of staffers sitting around him, and he just spews out things he wants in his posts, and they write something up and he "proofreads" it. There's no way a 79 year old man is using a pop culture phrase that my 13 year old daughter has been using the past month or so. Hell, he probably has never even heard the word "aura" in his life.
  4. Would be very Gilligan. Like I said, the dude isn’t interested in some Independence Day type show.
  5. Having spoken to people who were involved in that we were not outbid by LSU for Anderson and Martinez. Perhaps you've heard differently but it would surprise me if so. Obviously they were paying out the ass to help hold things together but plenty of programs, including our own, were offering just as much for guys to leave during the turmoil.
  6. As for the topic at hand, I struggle with the exit. And I see almost no chance this is anything but a structured investment. Sure as hell isn’t straight equity. And ZERO chance this is a $500mm equity investment per the headlines. PE ain’t stupid. Not going to promise that valuation on a nonprofitable brand. Now, if the structured investment turns equity-like, I wonder how the government will think about it. And exactly how they will find an exit then.
  7. Haven't seen this elsewhere yet, but Bloomberg rarely gets it wrong. I have a feeling the "routine training flight" mentioned above is related to this. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-12-10/us-seizes-oil-tanker-off-the-coast-of-venezuela?embedded-checkout=true
  8. Is that inspired trolling or plain ol' dumbassery?
  9. It's all 100% theater. For who though....
  10. PE is a great platform for ex-bankers to make and lose lots of money. Don’t sweat it!
  11. To add to this - saw a video that said to keep an eye on filing deadlines. Once those pass any GOP rep/senator that was worried about a Trump-sponsored primary challenge will begin to push back on Trump more openly. It won't be a revolt or anything but more along the lines of just telling him "no" or distancing themselves from his crazy shit. This will make Trump doubly pissed because not only will he be angry but he'll be powerless to do anything about it. This would likely be in more competitive districts so you won't see someone like Ronny Jackson doing this, nor will someone like Cornyn who is facing a primary challenge from someone like Paxton.
  12. I am looking at a country destroying public school education right now and that has no political stripe because New York is gutting their public schools in favor of charter schools the same as Texas is and those two states are polar opposites on most everything else. The results of this will not be seen until 15-20 years down the road. The United States has world class universities because the world has been coming to the United Staes to get educated because we used to believe that’s a good thing. Invite the world to come here to get educated and if you have something valuable to add to America we wanted these people to stay and work here. The last decade has shown that is no longer the case. When you actively scare off great professors and foreign students it has an effect and it’s one that will show up down the road. I use history as a guide on almost everything and history says what’s happening now will not end well for higher education.
  13. The Hustler is quite different The Color of Money might as well be from a different universe
  14. It's already been renewed for a second season, so we'll at least get that.
  15. Holy shit
  16. I think his style evolved before players could easily walk out and he never adjusted. From listening to Babers sounds like he’s always very much had a sink or swim approach.
  17. This was my first thought. My daughter had to read it for a class so I read it too. We decided to watch the movie after we both finished and were like WTF? The movie took almost nothing from the book. I think Shawshank is one of the few movies that turned out better than book. The Firm was a terrible remake that ruined a great ending. Felt like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was a fairly accurate adaptation.
  18. The mayor is welcome to his opinion. The mayor also got behind moving 130 east from its originally proposed location as a 35 bypass when the politics were pushed that way. Lotta money to be made on an external audit (other than the annual financial one Deloitte does already which of course, you all have read).
  19. I also mentioned that we are every impressed with the company and the brands they own. I'm not going to mention them here, as she would kill me. And yes, I am a very proud father, so I apologize for that.
