QB1 Arch Manning: Doing his best JAG impression to fool scouts
hobbes2702 replied to LTtxfan's topic in Football
You keep pretending that playing another quarterback is a reasonable position to take and that we should treat those moronic opinions reasonably. Here’s the options at QB… 1) Arch 2) a guy who went 3-7 at Troy 3) a true freshman that weighs 180 lbs. Just stop. -
No, but I found that when I went to nut, often nothing or very little would come out

I think a major question of this moment is: at what point do sane people engage in violent resistance? Trump has clearly done a lot of authoritarian shit over the last 9 months, so why haven’t we seen widespread violence in opposition of those things? It’s one thing to talk shit on the Internet and lament how crazy/bad things are. But if all these things are as bad as most of the regular commenters on this thread are saying they are, then doing shit like message board banter, voting, peaceful protest, etc. is all weak, pointless, and woefully inadequate. Of all the commenters talking shit about people downplaying things, I am pretty sure none of them have actually done anything other than whine about how bad things are and maybe donate a few dollars to opposition groups. But taking meaningful action involves serious consequences. It means risking your life and the safety of your family. That’s a different animal. And for just about everyone, the tipping point for choosing that path hasn’t yet arrived, and it’s very very difficult to determine what that point will be and how to recognize it when it gets here. I do think there’s a chance some real shit could go down on Oct 18.

He might not have a similar game. Or even close. Just trying to make you feel better. I don’t know shit about Denver’s run D this year. I will say I will take ten guys with his heart and passion and spark and evenly disperse them on our coaching staff, offense and defense. He ignites something. Watching him and Dart joke around like they were long lost brothers who just found each other 5 weeks ago is awesome. I love seeing passion. I don’t care for the Giants but that was the most fun I’ve had watching any football game CFB or NFL all season. Something about energy and pure love for the game between Dart and Skattebo was contagious. Even if it doesn’t last. That was fucking fun.

I am not seeing this. Show me plays where these guys are getting out talented and they physically just can't do what's asked.

As far as bringing a few bottles of bourbon to CR, is that ok?

A necessary condition for Marshall Plan and Japan reconstruction included occupation by Allies, complete elimination of their pre-war governments, rewriting of their constitutions, and total disarmament: reconstruction on total Allied terms. And Marshall Plan/reconstruction in this was was more than direct USG funds, it signaled an environment that could receive private investment and activity both foreign and domestic. That’s why a post-Gaza that doesn’t combine some form of Palestinian entity with the total exclusion of Hamas isn’t a slogan but a necessity. Things can’t be done long-term via complex international org and NGOs; those are a bandaid. There’s no states outside of the ME or multinational firms that will be interested in investment in a political entity where Hamas plays a role in post-war governance. For that matter, any local capital will continue to flee and seek safer harbor. Until that nut is cracked you’re going to be hard-pressed to envision a meaningful reconstruction scheme. It also doesn’t help that most of Europe is rightfully going to be more focused on the massive costs ans opportunities to eventually reconstruct and reintegrate Ukraine.

A healthy Florida defense is far better than our offense. By a bunch. -

This isn't about attitude or swagger or heart or desire or lockerroom speeches from former players. It is about talent. We need interior offensive linemen who don't fucking suck. -

The only way for me to get liquid is to sell IBRX or RVPH and I believe there’s a good chance RVPH blasts off by mid 2026. I still love IBRX, but can make money in the here and now in critical minerals stocks. It, certainly, doesn’t mean I won’t be buying IBRX back at some point. After all, they have a drug that will cure cancer. Seems like there should be some upside with that.

Lemme guess - Trump's going to end up having his Qatari 747 serviced at the Qatari air force facility in perpetuity in return for charging Qatar $20/year for the right to have the facility and associated training in the U.S. Sound about right?

The OU "In the weeds" guys did some tape breakdown of how teams are scheming three-one sets or motioning TEs to take Anthony Hill out of the box so that they deal with less linebackers and only the IDL guys. By doing so teams are making sure the ILB is the focus of the blocking to make sure he cannot bridge the gap. I need to stop watching these breakdowns because it just makes everything we are seeing in real-time even more frustrating because we are being out coached on top just our play.

I am not predicting protests will be met with violence, but do think that scenario would change minds. turnip’s comment about the Austin protest was in response to the COA waiving fees. ICE activities are where the provocation occurs. So far, like the protests, the resistance has been overwhelmingly non-violent. I think this country knows Republicans want violence, and that violence would only give Republicans an excuse to declare martial law under the insurrection act. The No Kings protests appear to be gaining momentum, though, so maybe Republicans will make a mistake. *** FAUX-KING’S THUGS S*CK SATAN’S C*CK ***
