  1. Past hour
  2. But see, the Cato institute is clearly a libtard plot. Wait, what's that, they're one of the longest-standing libertarian think tanks? Huh. Interedasting.
  3. aggy isn't a "major college football job"?
  4. Pretty sure Moore did have a concussion early in the season then missed the following game. I'm too lazy to look up game threads but people were happy he was back when he made a tough catch to give Arch confidence despite the poor throw. Hate that this forum craps on any player as soon as they leave and all of sudden the player is a diva and worthless. Just found an article about his return game. https://ontexasfootball.com/news/articles/deandre-moore-jrs-return-from-injury-has-injected-texas-with-confidence-energy-on-offense-r2429/
  5. You are literally linking a Newsweek article that is citing a widely and thoroughly debunked as a shot for shot remake of this same dogshit study done by FAIR (literally a hate group started by white supremacist eugenicist cocksucker John Tanton) in 2017. https://www.cato.org/blog/fairs-fiscal-burden-illegal-immigration-study-fatally-flawed You are, as per usual, completely fucking retarded.
  6. #23. Reacts with pleasure and delight to marital congress.
  7. Now include the math on how much the Texas Public Policy Foundation, one of the most conservative think-tanks around, saved on construction by using efficient (and likely relatively low-paid) hispanic labor that almost certainly included undocumented workers. And multiply that savings by.....every construction outfit from California to Louisiana, and a shitload of other places. And now include the math on how much consumers - including you - saved on produce harvested by undocumented labor. And now include the math on how much consumers - including you - saved on meals out where the back-of-house staff included undocumented labor. And on and on and on. It's amazing that laissez-faire "economic freedom" types, who demand that the market set everything, with no regulation....don't want to let the market respond to demands and supplies of labor. TPPF wanted a good, efficient construction crew at a fair price. There was a team of brown dudes that originated in latin america ready to meet that need. They met, and the market worked. And EVERYONE benefited. And yeah, even you, because the building you office in is cheaper because it was built, maintained, and is presently cleaned by a crew that very likely includes undocumented labor. Are you mad that your rent is 5% lower than it otherwise would be? That your building maintenance is 5% cheaper? BTW, we could set up a system that allowed for such transactions, tracked the workers doing them, provided for taxes, etc....but we won't, and you know exactly why we won't (GWB tried to do exactly that, and got destroyed by your people). Somehow, I never see people complaining about THOSE effects of undocumented labor. Huh. Interesting. I guess they live in a world where math only works in one direction. Interesting physics, I guess. And yeah, what Brian posted - it was a bullshit study, and most data on the point has shown, from a TAX DOLLARS PERSPECTIVE, it's a pretty neutral issue. Sorry, the reason your state government doesn't fund your schools and repair your roads isn't because "DEM ILLEGALS DONE TOOK ALL OUR MONEY!" It's because the people you keep voting for want to kill our schools and fuck over the people of the state for the benefit of literally a half dozen billionaires, who have convinced you to ram a stick up your own ass and call it winning.
  8. All the LISD high schools except Glenn are 6A now.
  9. How many 1-pitch outings next season?
  10. fuck, that's the guy that prosecuted Phil Spector.
  11. At least we stopped pretending it was about drugs and are openly stating it's about oil. Not sure what land they stole, or should I say "Land" but yeah...
  12. Kinda like Texas did to you I guess.
  13. That doofus almost cost us the Kentucky game by running out of bounds
  14. Yeah, it gets into the whole discussion about the fact that if we don't, China will happily fill that void, and what will be the economic and other repercussions for that. I'm oversimplifying, but when you look at the British up through the 1940s, and then our filling that void during and after WWII, both the Brits and us were not doing it solely out of some benevolent act of goodness or to prevent future wars (although that was a huge driver obviously for the US after 1945, and we used it to accumulate a lot of forward bases overseas). However, a huge driver of it was to make sure that the markets and resources in other parts of the world were open to our commercial interests. Even when you factor in the Soviets during the Cold War and discuss the political/ideological implications, at the end of the day, you could argue that having a massive Navy (and Air Force) was driven mostly by financial reasoning. We could dress it up and say it was Communism vs Democracy or whatever terms you wanted to use, but we knew that where the Soviets exerted their power, that those were markets and resources that American companies would be locked out of. And arguably that economic access helped pay for our massive military. The same holds true now, only with the Chinese. In that aspect, Ukraine and our tariff situation are catalysts - where we pull back, China quietly moves in - they've even made overtures to Europe in terms of the economic aspect. But that's more for a thread on China. Ss pulling back as the arsenal of democracy over the last 4 years is going to be a huge issue going forward - countries will pivot away from us and to Europe and South Korea for their defense needs. Both of those could be threads in the business/finance forum.
  15. We’re really doing this?
  16. Portal doesn't even actually open until Jan. 2nd. These are just people who announced early that they'll be in it. It will grow every day and then probably explode on Jan 2.
  17. In 2023 we did a 10,000 Burpee Challenge. That was a useful accountability tool for me and I enjoyed having a thread and tracking my progress through the year. 2026 I want to do another fitness/exercise type goal. There are about 15 days left in the year, so if anyone would like to suggest a different goal that folks here can share, I am game. As it is for me, the goal I am thinking about is 2500 miles "cycled" (whether its road or peloton or whatever else) and 10,000 pushups. I think that 10k pushups should be fairly easy, 2500 miles might be a bit of a reach but I think I can do it. Both of those together I think are a good challenge. That's where I'm at for me right now, but this is fun as a group thing so if there is a different goal that people here would be interested in tracking together, I'm game. Unless it's 10,000 burpees.

  19. He averaged 3 catches for 44 yards on the year. He will be missed dearly.
