  1. Past hour
  2. Seen today… It will be wonderful, you’ll see!!
  3. This is exactly what I am talking about. We all know the Duke offense was the worst unit on the field for Duke. We know the offense struggled. We know the Duke coaches brought in someone to upgrade the QB position in the portal. Despite all of that, you argue he did his job. As the saying goes "Do not let the facts get in the way of truth".
  4. I've said it multiple times on this thread, Ewers was an outstanding QB when he was healthy. Unfortunately, I don't think he ever was ever completely healthy after getting planted by Dallas Turner at DKR. If he was, I think that hit was in the back of his mind the entire time he played at Texas. That's the biggest knock on him -- he's not an overly big guy and he has a tendency to get injured. When/if healthy, I think he can be a NFL quarterback.
  5. There is also a strategy to see your money put to use before you die. I can understand that someone wants to play it safe and keep funds just in case they live to 105 or the more cynical view that they want to control their heirs a bit more, but there's also the good feeling of seeing how your life's work is benefiting others either through inheritance or donations.
  6. In the quiet of an offline conversation, Sarkisian is capable of expressing genuine disdain for the ATM football program. He’s not a fan of Elko either. A lot of it carries over from Fisher and Elko fucking the state of affairs for everyone while he was still at Bama. A lot of their bullshit about him with recruits and the media (feeding negative shit to their people in the media and the national guys) started when he was there and carried over to Texas. Fisher is a piece of human shit. Excluding Elko from that label for the time being, but he’s not some jolly kind man just because he’s fatter than Santa Claus. So it is funny to me that the aggie fanbase is so desperate to hate him. They have a pathological need to both deify their coaches and vilify the Texas coaches. Sarkisian will never say a negative thing about them in public, yet they’ll manufacture their anger because of some psychological shortcoming as a fanbase that only they possess. In any event, he gets them in ways it only took the bonfire game for Mack Brown to comprehend. I think he’s going to do everything he can to blow them out everytime Texas plays them.
  7. Ty Anthony Smith
  8. Everything is politics.
  9. This is the foundational problem. Reporting on simple facts, like "the temperature data gathered in the Gulf of Maine over the past 50 years shows that the body has reached a temp 4 degrees warmer than its long-term average" is liberal slant/bias. You have a POTUS firing the head of the BLS because....it reported and adjusted job numbers using the EXACT same methodology it has used forever, including during his first term, Obama's term, Biden's term, etc. Reporting of ACTUAL FACTS is...to use the exact word from the leader of "conservatives" is "rigged." A society never gets over that. We are going to gut every single entity that gathers or reports on objective data and facts. Because....objective data and facts are enemy #1 of an authoritarian government. It's not any more complicated than that.
  10. His back tracking wasn't very good "I didn't say it wasn't a valid title!" Yeah bro, you did. "It doesn't hold up as a genuine title" "It deserves as asterisk"
  11. Not to get political, because it's next to impossible to achieve that, but what will be the impact now that we will all know that the govt reported financial numbers are cooked? I know a cynical person will reply that they were always cooked but at least they followed the same formula and process, including negative #s. We now know that everyone in govt has to report good news only. Or will this be a new era that govt numbers will start to be ignored and we should count on the private sector only to report on macro economic #s?
  12. We're headed down to SPI for a few days this Sunday and planning on hitting Butter's in Sinton (hi Bill). The plan is to arrive right at 9 when they open. Any of you guys been there on a sunday and have an feel for the line? We can adjust our plan if line needed to get us there earlier. Its stop #3 on our Texas Monthly BBQ tour.
  13. Michigan State and Jonathan Smith add member of Texas staff By Doug Samuels Aug 4, 2025 Jonathan Smith's construction of the Oregon State program from 2-wins in year one to 10-wins in year five at his alma mater is a big reason why he brought to East Lansing to get Michigan State back on track. After winning five games last season, narrowly missing bowl eligibility, Smith and company return a junior at quarterback who completed nearly 60% of his passes last season, as well as some key pieces around him to go along with some critical additions from the transfer portal heading into year two. With all his coordinators returning and the vast majority of the staff back for a second season with the Spartans, Smith has made a hire from a College Football Playoff program to bolster his support staff. Michael Morales, who spent the past three seasons on Steve Sarkisian's staff at Texas, has joined Michigan State as a player personnel analyst. With a significant background in data analytics, Morales has worked in player evaluation and football operations as well. Prior to joining the Longhorns staff, Morales spent time working for Pro Football Focus where he focused on statistical analysis.
