The defendants admitted falsity. The system is different without the burden of proof. Your conspiracy nut is showing. And you almost saved yourself. -

It goes even deeper than that, because their citizens enjoy many qualities of life that we don't have here in America, like free health care and education, because their military is heavily subsidized by us. If they suddenly had to fund their own wars, they would be unable to provide these services to their citizens, and their society would collapse very quickly. It's all a massive house of cards. I'm not saying I want it to collapse, I don't, but the leverage we hold over them should be a goddamn Sword of Damocles considering what they do with our money, but we just pretend it doesn't exist.

Yesterday two House committees (Energy and Commerce Committee, Education and Workforce) advanced the Student Compensation and Opportunity through Rights and Endorsements Act (SCORE). Here's an article from this morning's Inside Higher Education that gives the best summary I've seen so far of major aspects of the bill. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/students/athletics/2025/07/24/republicans-rethink-structure-college-athletics Some key points: pre-empts existing state-level NIL rules prohibits student athletes from being recognized as university employees exempts NCAA from certain antitrust laws ties athlete compensation to how much TV revenue the team generates codifies the right to retain an agent caps compensation level at 5 percent [not sure of what -- article unclear] and outlines regulations for revenue sharing requires most colleges to maintain at least 16 sports programs prohibits colleges from using student fees to support the athletic department. Party-line vote in committee, although there was initially bipartisan support The student fee bit is a big one, as so many (see UW-Milwaukee report above) rely on that model. Others mentioned in the article as having recently raised student fees: Minnesota, Clemson, Fresno State. Article concludes there's a long way to go before it reaches the presidential desk. My guess: if this passes and keeps most of its form, non-revenue intercollegiate sports don't have much longer to live at most schools (by that I mean the vast majority of the 4,000 colleges and universities in the U.S., many or even most of which don't have them already). NCAA has a little more than 1,100 members and the NAIA about 250. I also think Title IX as it applies to sports would be dead. SCORE and Title IX are pretty antithetical to each other, as Title IX is absolutely revenue-blind and SCORE is all about the revenue. There's some nice coverage and good quotes from various parties in this piece. Worth a read if you're following this kind of stuff.

A thing that stuck out to me at the end of season 3 this time was the “we found a body!” bit with Johnny OD’ing in Hamsterdam. The timeline is fuzzy on that whole thing but it was going for months? They would have had people dropping out every day starting in week 1. That’s how it would have fallen apart.

I used to worry because I was conflicted between buying more fentanyl or coffee. Now that coffee is becoming unaffordable, I have much less stress. Bless you, President Trump. -
We had no more than a 2 minute wait in the middle of June for the cable cars. What about the canals because it's mostly canals. 8-)

Matt Hayes used to write stories about Urban Meyer "trying" to bring the spread to the SEC. In both The Sporting News and on multiple CFB tv and radio shows, he adamantly sermonized that Meyer was going to fail in the SEC because of his offense. If there's anyone at a national level who is constantly as idiotic and wrong as Bohls and Liucci, it's that assclown. -
I know this is the concern for some of you. Do you know why I'm not concerned because 1) we will never agree to the definition of when we get there so we will never get there 2) the free press 3) the courts 4) we've got too many people like you and others who actually believe this is the fight and are fighting it 5) i don't believe that Trump, even with some people like this in his ear, ultimately wants that. (insert all your kilmar abrego retort here) For all his faults he's a business man who will sell out ANYONE for his image/ buck. In the end he knows being a racist klepto has no end game except being a 3rd world country. So He's doing, right or wrong to you, what he thinks is best for country, which was IN FACT, walking toward economic disaster. its first and always first about the economy. That said he has made his personal social views align with half the country who have anti-left social views. So good for him and those that think like him, i guess. For too long this country has favored social justice issues over simple economics. It didn't have to be either or but in my opinion we took our eye off the ball for dumb shit for too long. As for Trumps family making money on whatever. IF he's broken the law, prosecute him. IF not why do you care? We haven't done much about how AOC a former bar tender is now worth 20million. The hypocrisy is on both sides. if i had cable maybe
