Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
Foosters replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Gerry posited that Smith's ascension doesn't necessarily mean a one for one replacement with a current starter, but rather the staff would really like to give Hill more plays off during the course of the season to ensure he's healthy and fresh in January. Seemed like they think Smith can provide tons of snaps at either LB spot. -

Okay I had to go back and fact check the bolded. Technically you are correct. But, Priest was hurt in the spring and missed the entire 1995 season and Ricky and Shon stats below. After looking a bit further, they had the exact same amount of touches combining receiving and rushing attempts. -

This made me laugh out loud. The sphinctoid mouth repeated on so many huge (relative to the humans) images for some reason raises a fair notion for a cartoon to something really funny and apt.

The cheese might be starting to slip off her cracker. In fairness her "weight loss commercial" was pretty funny. Nathan has worked his ass off, think he wins. Corrinne on the Aussie version still gets my vote.

I dunno, could be an interesting tussle. Both pretty clearly entitled to use BU, the question then becoming a) is the interlocking design sufficiently distinctive and b) is anyone actually confused as to origin, sponsorship, or approval of his or her goods, services, or commercial activities by another person. I think the answer to b) is a fairly resounding: Probably also the answer to a), as well. But the "property theory" of trademarks is likely to come into play. Like most trademark cases, this will probably settle.

Nice! Finally? We should be destroying anything coming from North Korea or Iran. We absolutely have the intel.

oh no no no this guy is no friend. in fact we don’t even get along.

He should call a press conference to challenge Trump to a game of dodge ball, drop a fat kid joke then moonwalk out.

I think it's important to distinguish people who may have a centrist approach who don't necessarily feel a kinship with the wealthy Dem establishment. There are centrists who want progress, and the Dem establishment fell asleep on the job and lost labor, lost safety and security, and allowed themselves to be painted as bad on the economy. I'm for massive immigration but with rigid controls. I'm pro-law enforcement but holding them to the highest standards. I think we should be radically affirmative action based on economic need and lack of economic opportunity and think that should replace any race-based criteria. (That might look Republican-y a few decades ago, but calling anything Republican-y is literally just saying it's pro-mendacity and pro-corruption and anti-Constitution.) More important than those policy preferences is rule of law and separation of powers and ethical standards. I'm for the most progressive tax system possible without clearly harming the economy. I'm libertarian on most issues and want some more gun regulation. I want the fucking old-Testament religious nationalists crucified along 35 between West and Salado. I view that as relatively centrist. The Dem Establishment blew their chance to get us there and we might just have to build back better with Progressives. Any alternative is a non-starter. We haven't ever lived in an easier time to pick the greater of evils.

I understand where you’re coming from, but it is a condemnation of Mitchell. I do not disagree with the premise that a backup could be better. This not a good example of the second string being way better. Ricky as a freshman was not the same as Ricky as a junior or senior. I am one that believes an frosh can be productive but generally lacks in the intangibles relative to a more experienced player. And even on a per tote basis Michell’s 1995 was better than Ricky’s senior year. Based on Priests numbers and return from injury, it’s difficult to argue he was better than Shon at that time. Priest was awesome versus UNC then memorable versus Nebraska but otherwise somewhat pedestrian. I don’t necessarily blame that on him as he proved with the Chiefs that he could get it done. And in a big way. Priest is a great example of timing, needing an opportunity and then situationally being in the right fit. You could say NFL teams missed on him twice. I’m not arguing for it, but someone could argue that Priest was a better RB than Lewis yet backed him up. Ricky and Priest were pretty special at times with Ricky being more special at Texas and Priest more so in the pros. Shon if he were to come through now, he might be viewed differently in a positive way since his skills/frame are better suited to the open field game. As for talent, Priest/Ricky are up there. I might just add that’s a pretty talented and balanced threesome. Now as for Manning last year, I won’t buy others argument that he wasn’t ready or that he was less likely to get the job done. We don’t know that he wasn’t better suited than Ewers last year. We certainly saw glimpses that he could have been.

Im sure the skank has plenty of money in savings to pay this off swiftly if she lost.

From time to time I’ll wear a Baylor quarter zip in the NE and people will ask me if its Boston University. Plus isn't a part of owning a trademark the responsibility of enforcing it? IIRC that's why the Aggies sued the NFL Seahawks over the twelfth man thing.

Jimbo should decline the money for his next job. He could say something like "...in order to help the football budget I'll do it for free since I already have enough money". Stupid eventually fixes itself.

Yeah, my dad passed in 2014 and I’m glad he was spared the Trump turn taken by his Republican Party. I generally avoided politics with my family but that’s over with Trump. You can’t defend yourself any longer so I’m ruthless. No decent person supports Trump and if you support him then the only thing any Democrat ever did that bothered you was having “(D)” next to their name on the ballot (or being black). -
Most great QBs sat behind another QB. It’s more common for that to be the case than to come in and start right away. Elway sat behind Turk Schonert Peyton sat behind Jerry Colquitt and then Todd Helton. Cam Newton sat behind Tebow before getting kicked off the team. The list could go on and on
