Compensation & WFH debate ($120K vs 240K)
Anastasis replied to Nice Guy Eddie's topic in Daily Texan
It's pretty straightforward to monetize some aspects of benefits of WAH vs. in office setting, but some the other aspects you outlined are certainly harder to put to value to. And the value assessment will vary based on a significant number of very individuals or personal factors. -
Sark out here firing the wrong coordinator. . im torn on this, I hope it workouts for us. That grass ain’t always greener on the other other side

If Tom Brady hasn't taken a snap for two years and Tony Romo has led his unit to to four straight top 13 defensive FEI seasons, probably not unless Romo makes me think he's gonna walk and I need to be making calls to potential replacements. I'm not saying it was a bad move - I think it's the best hire Sark could have made. I just think folks should be real about where it's coming from and the challenges associated with it. Muschamp was an analyst. Smart and Schumann know a thing or two about defense. This isn't gonna have a material impact on Georgia's defense.

Compensation & WFH debate ($120K vs 240K)
Brisketexan replied to Nice Guy Eddie's topic in Daily Texan
While the comparison of the scenarios has to be a adjusted for potential variables (if I'm avoiding 3 hours a day of commute time, that is a real difference-maker, for example), the above has a lot of truth. As do the points about mentoring and the like. And yes, I also had first-hand experience with people for whom "WFH" meant "do the absolute minimum, and actually, I'm gonna be outside gardening, walking my dog, etc., during working hours." All of that said, the real driver is "what kind of job is it?" There are absolutely a shitload of good white collar jobs that can be done entirely or almost entirely WFH. There are a lot of PROFESSIONS that benefit greatly from being in-office/in person. I had plenty of depositions, hearings, mediations, and even trials by zoom during the COVID times. I can assure you, ALL of those things work much better in person. And yeah, having associates here, in the office, where they are part of spontaneous conversations, work sessions, task assignments, etc., develops them so much better. So, it depends on the job. -
My denist is aggy. Good dude. His wife (no pics), also aggy, is our vet. Anyway, on my first visit, he said he didn't usually work on Longhorn teeth. I told him it was more difficult because . . . more teeth. Today, I didn't mention beating them like a drum. I just feigned interest in their playoff prospects. Told him Miami was a lock and tOSU was totally beatable if things tipped their way. They're totally losing to Miami.

I mean, I like Mischamp and he has a better understanding of the SEC than most, but PK did fine. He can't control the offendive ineptitude. Fire Akina and find someone else. Why fire PK + Akina, but Orphey is cool? I mean, he did show improvement during the season progression, but this totally sounds like desperation mode for Sark. I think CDC didn't just explain why we didn't make it, but after the last 2 seasons and being wingless against the two warm bodies on the schedule, he was forced to make the change. I guess the good thing about Mischamp is he wants his players to kill everyone. He's the most passionate DC I've ever seen. He's still the only DC I've ever seen who almost ripped his own face off to get to the ears. At least I'll always have the memory of Sergio Kindle sending Taylor Potts to an uncharted dimension, so he knows when to send the dogs. Georgia's defense was much, much better with Mischamp advising. -
everyone ends up dead

I hope they paid the mother-father more than Jimbo. All other positions are walk on (12th man hurda hurda). They'll fuck this up just like they always do.

Was there. The collective gasp was one of the coolest things I've ever heard in a stadium.
-
Rolls Phantom. And it was my backup driver lol Also 3 of the 4 perps ended up dead so winning?
-
If Tom Brady is available and you have Tony Romo, are you making the move? I am. It also simultaneously weakens our biggest rival. This was a big move. A smart move.
-
If Lefau ends up at BYU its probably a good move for him and his family. Instead of being our only Polyneisian he can tap into a network
