  1. Past hour
  2. and this guy bernie m something is heading it up. a real wizard.
  3. we played 18 Sunday morning....one of my buddies marks his ball about four feet from the cup and says to the other, who is a good 45+ feet away, "is my mark in your line?" I'm standing right there, the mark is clearly in the line, but it ain't my business. Buddy says, "nah, I'll never make it" and putts. The ball hits the mark, bounces a little bit and goes in the hole. and then I watched HG2 last night so...how long until "patrons" are yelling "that's what she said!" when Xander tees off?
  4. Why do so many people constantly talk about a fake version of the Democratic party that's even worse at politics than the real Democratic party? Why is their "solution" to the problems of this fake party always what the real party has been doing (and which has proven insufficient)? Dems have been trying to hide from social issues, duck culture war shit, and focus on kitchen table issues every single election since 1992. When do you think that will start actually working? Before or after they've herded us all into gas chambers? Ducking from culture war fights is how you lose the fucking culture war and that fight is much more important to most people than economic issues they don't understand. When you tell voters that your opponents are right on their culture war shit, you're telling them to vote for your opponents. THAT is what has driven people to vote Republican. It wasn't telling them that we support trans rights, it was refusing to tell them they should too.
  5. That couldn't happen to a more deserving fellow. He sold out every principle he ever had for Trump and it would be fitting if it's his turn for the leopards to eat his face.
  6. Well, we can still troll our aggy friends and relatives with regards to Tito's though, right? Because I've definitely been doing that...like a lot.
  7. Do you have your own radio show? It's not good sophistry, but it's good enough for the right audience.
  8. I remember the uproar when Sherrill was hired for something like 250k per year. People couldn't believe a head coach making more than the university president. At least aggy was on the cutting edge of something.
  9. This sounds suspiciously right-wingy.
  10. It really does amaze me how they can craft shit out of whole cloth and then wear it as the obvious truth from there forward. Tito's Vodka isn't giving anything to NIL. They're a vice company according to the NIL rules and they can't. They do a sponsorship to TOF for low 5 figures, and they're doing sponsorships of that ilk in other places. Do they do a lot of sponsorship with UT? Sure. As with other programs. The notion has now reach "giving 8 figures to NIL" and that's probably the most absurd thing I've heard those goobers say in a while.
  11. I played in stage band for a couple of years. Trombonist. So much fun playing Chuck Mangione, Duke Ellington, Glen Miller, Weather Report, Spyro Gyra, Stevie Wonder...
  12. Late to the show but enjoyed the episodes I caught over the last week. There's def some suspension of disbelief but overall its better than 90% of what's on the streaming services. One problem with many streaming dramas is that the beginning premise was well thought out, perhaps for years by the creator. Then they and the other writers have to pump out 9-12 episodes and set up a season 2. There's just a natural quality decline. I do find the Mel character to be insufferable.
  13. so...how long until "patrons" are yelling "that's what she said!" when Xander tees off?
  14. I’ve said plenty and there is major institutional investment occurring now. Dividends are announced every Wednesday morning from the activity that took place Monday through Friday of week before. They release daily transactions and holdings every single day, and they have people tracking gains/losses, AUM increases and new shares.
  15. You're being a real trouper about this. A lot of people have a deep-seated resistance to accept they're using wrong terms in idioms.
  16. I figured no one would like my post But many of the ideas in this thread boil down to, "How do we manipulate voters into doing what we want?" That sounds an awful lot like a certain cult I know. I understand that it may feel like the only option left, but realize that you are erecting and joining your own cult. Yay, team? I would rather see Dems consider, "How do we bring ourselves more into alignment with the concerns of the majority of voters and get them to understand that we have done it?" My overcomplicated post is really just focusing solely on economic populism and effectively reaching voters with that platform. It's not unlike your suggestion, but without making up vile shit. You don't have to make anything up if you can effectively target and talk to the economically pained US voter about their pain and how what you are going to do about it will be better than what the oligarchs are doing about it. Give them nothing else to make their decision on, nothing else for the opposition to use against you. That's ALL you stand for -- helping the most U.S. citizens as possible live lives free of financial distress. It's should be soooo easy, and yet... it hasn't been done. Why? Ineptitude? A void of strategic vision? Dems also being in bed with and dependent on the billionaires? Fear of all the rednecks with guns who would just as soon vote from the rooftops as ballot box? Some ratio of all of the above? Those questions are why I've transitioned from crusader to apathetic observer. The fundamental flaw in this thread is stated in its title. "Dem strategery". The only effective strategy I see on display from Dems is, "How can we lose ridiculously without the majority of our base coming to the conclusion that we are fucking ridiculous?"
  17. The only people in that article I have ever heard of are Rogan and Gillis. Sounds like some of these people just moved here because Rogan did. I mean who the fuck moves here thinking it’s going to be like LA or NYC?
  18. Love how many of them are such discerning connoisseurs of vodka that they can be sure that Tito’s is shitty.
  19. Especially when you hear "Reber" (the way they pronounce Reba McEntire's first name) sing it. Lulz.
  20. Noped the fuck out of there.
  21. https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/28/health/alzheimers-disease-walking-exercise-wellness I'm sure all these studies are good and absolutely movement is important. My own Father is starting to exhibit sure signs of sundowner's and random lost moments. At other times sharp as a tack, just talks slower. He's 81. He always took care of his cardio. Was random with his weight lifting. Slim build. Due to various reasons we've never been super close. I called him on Father's Day and we had a 20 minute conversation. Everything was fine and then around minute 15 he couldn't follow me at all. Shook me (and I didn't think it would). I had heard about him having random falls here and there. I'm going to visit him in August because I know once this stuff starts it never gets better. I guess I'm saying obviously we should do the best we can regarding exercise, diet, e.t.c but there are no guarantees other than death one day. I know duh, that's no revelation. My Dad is the youngest of four brothers all still alive. Some have had cancer battles, one has a pace maker, all 3 drink. two of them heavily. Dad is a teetotaller. Yet Dad is the one developing quite obvious dementia symptoms. For all I know the exercise kept him from developing them earlier. I resemble him physically more than any of my other siblings. So it spooks me that I'm looking at a similar fate at some point regardless of whether I exercise, take care of my diet, whatever.
  22. Revenge bod. It’s a powerful motivator
