It might explain why Trump didn't get an invite to Chelsea's wedding.

LOA from Baylor. Now being replaced as CFP Chair. *** The moves come hours after Baylor athletic director and selection committee chair Mack Rhoades took a leave of absence from his job for personal reasons amid a university investigation. "We are deeply appreciative of Mack Rhoades' leadership and service as chair of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee this season," CFP executive director Rich Clark said in a news release. "Mack has informed us of his decision to step down for personal reasons, and our thoughts are with him and his family during this time. Rhoades told ESPN on Thursday that he initiated the leave from his Baylor role but declined to explain why. Baylor told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg that the university received allegations involving Rhoades on Monday. The allegations do not involve Title IX, student welfare or NCAA rules and do not involve the football program, indicating it is a separate incident from Rhoades' alleged altercation with a football player during a September game. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/46953809/arkansas-yurachek-named-cfp-chair-utah-harlan-returns

The person doesn't even need to be that rich or powerful. Back when I was in private practice, my boss got the owner of a middling, unbranded-gasoline distribution company to admit to participating in a price-fixing scheme during her deposition. He kept dancing around asking the question because you don't want to let them answer "No" necessarily. But he had his Gessup moment and finally flat out asked her, "Did you participate in price-fixing scheme." She looked at him and answered, "Yes." No. Further. Questions. He wasn't even a very good lawyer.

Yeah Ron Swanson is a main character. THIS is my favorite side character on Parks and Rec but there are several great ones:

Imagine us missing the decency and competence of people like Cohen and Scaramucci.....Holy fucking shit.

And apparently used to working with the well regarded

Just today in my hood, a Waymo stopped to allow some pedestrians to cross the street. I thought what a polite robot.
-
Necro-bumping this thread because I just saw a photo of Michael Cohen on MSNBC. I always enjoyed hearing from him in the first Trump term. Back in the old days. Good times.

Bolded the word that is missing from every GQP person. I mean, it's like a missing chromosome or something -- it just ain't fucking there, and it ain't never gonna be there.

Is Canecutter Airlines still around, plying the routes between Opelika, Bogalusa, and Biloxi?
-
Yes but you’re legitimate retarded, so…
-
Because Whoever has damning shit on everybody. Trump seems to be the only one who can't counter-scandal.

And...yep. The cross-examination of Colonel Jessup, and the observation that "I think he WANTS to say it" (that he ordered the code red) was not made up. It's how people (mostly men) like him operate. I've examined witnesses like him - and yeah, that often happens. Get them going, and they will give you the "fuck yeah we did" answer of some sort (it's usually not as dramatic as Jessup's, but sometimes just as meaningful). And yeah....I've also defended a couple of witnesses like that. And there is no controlling them or "training that tendency out of them." They are who they are, and no piss-ant lawyer's gonna tell 'em what to do. Occasionally, the smarter ones will later sheepishly acknowledge "well, I guess I made a pretty big mess for you to clean up." The only proper answer is "yes you did. But that's what you're paying me for." If you bill by the hour....those can be good clients/witnesses to have. There are some interesting observations here that I do wish more of the general population actually knew and understood (e.g., how the rich and powerful don't conceal their shitbaggery). There's probably a good list of "shit we have learned about people over the years" that we should compile. Lawyers have a lot of such lessons/perspectives, but I know that engineers, managers, and the like, have their own observed truths to share too.

All Encompassing Mortgage and Real Estate Thread
Sbbruin replied to UTPhil2006's topic in Business and Markets
Thoughts from the mortgage bros on portable mortgages? I assume the rate would only apply to the balance you currently have on your existing mortgage, of course. But what other unintended consequences might arise? -
So one side is releasing a lot of emails about Trump. Why isn’t the other side releasing a lot of emails about whoever?
-
Also, I find it ironic that Ghizlane Maxwell's email is "GMAX" but she's in minimum security prison. Irony is dead. And another thing, I just saw someone on TV saying what the Justice Dept has on Trump is a million times more damning that what has been released. I also saw Thomas Massie read off descriptions of men in the Epstein list but not name names. Is there some reason they can't talk about this? If someone like Trump has a problem with that then lets do a lawsuit and all that big beautiful discover.

Glad you found some peeps to take em.

Until they don’t when it goes up. I dumped that Disney Hulu bundle a few months ago. If I switch from yttv it will be direct tv or fubo.
