Then I thought, "When am I ever going back to Haiti?"

Why are we interfering with Darwin's Law when we need it most? This is an even worse idea than the "missionaries" who try to convert the Sentinelese. -
Last year, my son and his cousin took a walk after the meal. I smirked at them when they left. Unfortunately, that cousin won't be able to join us this year. But I'm sure he'll volunteer to walk the dogs. He's so helpful during the holidays.

why, is there something wrong with that?

Don't tell me she puts beans in her chili....

Can’t help, but you might find this link interesting: http://npplan.com/parks-by-state/puerto-rico-national-parks/san-juan-national-historic-site-park-at-a-glance/san-juan-national-historic-site-castillo-san-cristobal/san-juan-national-historic-site-dungeon-of-castillo-san-cristobal/#:~:text=In the San Cristóbal dungeon, where the galleons are drawn. When my Dad was stationed at Fort Brooke (on the grounds of Castillo San Felipe del Morro) in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico during the early 1950s, we kids explored the 16th-18th century Spanish fortifications allthe time. In the neighboring fort of San Cristobal there were some creepy dungeon chambers that had centuries old drawings & scratched etchings on the walls that fascinated me. The colorful Hollywood pirate movies that were shown at the post theater were especially enjoyable since we were living in the middle of where it all happened in real life. I was actually thrilled to discover the above website link today, because those sailing ship drawings on the dungeon walls are the very same ones I saw firsthand when we played pirates in those tunnels without supervision 71+ years ago.

They should just use any light blue and license the color for a flat fee from some small time high school football program and then highlight it with their current dark blue. Isn’t Pearland light blue?

I got my degree in '02 but didn't get my license till '23 cuz life and yeah, it's hard as fuck. there's a reason a lot of people don't get through it on the first try, and many at all. I am proud to say I passed all my tests on first try. but yeah, I'm sure any joe blow off the street could pull it off. health, safety, and welfare indeed

I'm with you on bologna. I couldn't stomach that Oscar Meyer crap when I was growing up in the 70's but damn if I didn't love the potted meats (Deviled ham and chicken) and I'd eat a whole canister of Vienna sausages if you'd let me. Mortadella is insanely good, especially when it's pan-fried and used in a sandwich.

Doorbell etc. cam system, but NOT a Ring?

We use the Google Nest doorbell. We also have a few Nest cameras. One thing I liked is that Google's Nest Aware subscription gives you storage for all their devices on a single plan. Trying to figure out the storage/recording options on these different products was a pain. -
My dumbass brother became an attorney, so I get it 😂

If Steve does depart will-he nill-he, there isn't going to be a massive buyout, but the Mutually Acceptable Preservation of our Good Name parting agreement will fund a couple of years' rent on her Casa Loreal.

so sorry to hear this, seven. f cancer. you've always been a big part of this community and that will remain the case regardless of how this goes from here. keep your head up and do not go gently into that good night, my friend. try to get everything you can out of life from here.

Huh... 30 years in the profession and now I find out it's not a profession. Well, at least the great pay and short hours make up for... WAIT. FUCK. (yeah, this will go over super well in the A&E community - as an architect I needed to go through several years of mandatory internship then 9 exams. It's thankfully simplified now, although still rigorous. My engineering friends and colleagues have similar rigors to endure before becoming licensed. Sure would've been a lot easier to walk off campus with my degree and yell "I'm an architect now!" and been done with it.)

Is this because it might make a pardon from the dotard more difficult?

There used to be a nice little cafe in Jayton that I would stop at with some frequency a few decades ago. That town, like so many, has shrunk down to almost nothing now. Maybe 500 people?
