Why the hell would you put the fentanyl IN the watka? Drop care packages of needles, fentanyl and vodka. Throw in some Ritz crackers and ball point pens for giggles.

i was 5, we were living close enough to get inches of ash. I couldn't be convinced that it wasn't snow and my parents basically had to tie me to the couch. I remember seeing the big whitish grey explosion cloud in the distance(didn't impress 5 year old me all that much) then the sky going grey for days and all the associated clean up/freak out/vehicles, heatpumps, gutters, roofs damaged. Towards the end of the clean up the fire department came and washed the ash into the storm sewers(probably wouldn't do that today). Somewhere in the family collectables are mason jars filled with ash. as you describe, very fine and powdery.

I love seeing movies in the theater, but people fucking talking out loud or looking at their fucking phones during the movie are just a beating. They can eabod and diaf. Seriously. The prices suck, but if they got rid of the inconsiderate assholes, I'd pay even more. Last movie I saw with an intermission iirc was Reds, when I was in high school in like 1980. It was brutal. /csb

It’s August and the kudzu, morning glories, thistles and commentator diarrhea is clogging up tv sports. Like someone posted, just run some decent games from the past, with radio synced for either team. We be starving for college football.

That's absolutely what the Astros should have done with Correa. If the new owner wants to pay $50M to dump $50M, great--Urias goes to 2B and Dubon to the OF.

I'm looking for a knee replacement orthopedic surgeon in the Dallas/McKinney area. The MRI shows significant damage. TIA

The ankles comment was about someone else, Myron Charles I believe -
Nah, ignore him. He's never even in the F1 thread, and most of us there enjoyed the movie despite the rather inconsequential hollywood-ized silly moments. Like I said earlier, yeah, there are some things they got wrong, but no deal-breakers. It was a good flick. Is it Grand Prix or Le Mans? No, but imho nobody will ever do it that well again, which is crazy when you consider the era in which those movies were shot and the challenges they faced getting onboard shots. They remind me of 2001 vs modern sci-fi movies.

It was good to hear Bobby mention Ffrench and Lockett as making great progress since the spring. -
I am curious how Kwame really feels about it though. Wish he'd stop sugar coating his thoughts.

When my son was just a little slug, i.e., 2-3 years old, he enjoyed listening to certain songs in his old man's music collection. One of said songs was Whipped Cream. His dad enjoyed looking at the CD cover while the music played.

I was living in Kennewick, Washington when Saint Helens blew. Being east of the Cascades the weather is always sunny and clear there, and when I woke up that morning, deeply hung over, I walked out of my apartment to drive to get coffee at the convenience store and instantly saw the several inches of ash covering the ground and my car. Giant, dark rolling clouds filled the sky, and I instantly assumed there had been a nuclear war, that the ash was fallout, and I would go back inside and turn on the TV and figure out when I would die from radiation. It was quite the relief to realize it was only a volcano natural disaster. One thing nobody talks about now was that the ash fell in such fine particles that everyone’s radiators immediately became clogged and cars overheated, and had to stop. I was a court administrator for the Benton Franklin County Superior Court at the time, and trials were conducted in the town of Prosser about 20 miles away, as they were the county seat. It took many weeks before people could drive 20 miles and not have their cars overheat. This included most first responder vehicle vehicles as well. It was definitely a thing that impacted everyone in the state for a while if they were in the plume penumbra.

I agree with you that it's stupid to waste your vote on third party candidates in general elections. But one must ask why this even happens? Did the Democrats squander an opportunity to build credibility? Why do so many people stay home or throw their votes away?

Apparently she knew his finances/will were a mess and didn't want to be involved in the fight for $$ when he passed.
