  1. Past hour
  2. Aggy wife has a good idea. She said the organization needs to fine pitchers for throwing balls and giving walks. Pitching coaching staff gets fined for losing by more than 3 runs per game.
  3. 1st day of school, too. So, that's a fun start to the school year. I mean, I guess we should be relieved that they weren't shot. Silver linings and all that.
  4. Yes, and you know what? A shitload of them have separated or want to when their time is up because they hate this shit, but most have their hands tied and have to bide their time until they finish their obligation and can separate, and they have to keep their noses clean and not publicly criticize any of the operations at the border, else they draw the anger of the higher-ups who don't want Abbott and Co. pissed. None of them signed up to do this shit - if they wanted to do this full-time, they would have joined Border Patrol/ICE, and they'd be paid a lot more (especially when they are putting in 60-80 hour weeks). People tend to forget that those NG troops that get ordered to the border are having to leave school or jobs (which are usually better paying) and they are having to leave their homes to live in some shitty hotel room or fuck-off field tent barracks. None of the college students (and college students make up a lot of NG members) are happy that they are putting their studies on hold because Abbott is desperately seeking Trump's attention. Those who had to leave decent jobs are sweating that those same jobs will still be there when they get back. Not to mention that if you have been in the NG for a while and you've been employed by the same company for a number of years and have done multiple deployments, after 5 years of cumulative leave for various deployments, your employer does not have to retain your job (and even if you're under the 5 year cap, there's all kinds of ways that employers can screw you over and still comply with the law). I've done the NG thing, and granted it was in the 90s, and so it was quite different in some ways (I never fathomed being deployed overseas multiple times, etc.), but it was made up of a shitload of people who had a lot of solid reasons to join the NG and not the active-duty military, none of which were to sit down on the border for long periods of time. And I live not too far from Camp Mabry, and my kids are friends with kids whose parents are at Camp Mabry in some capacity, and we have neighbors there, etc., and I've heard a lot of horror stories, and I'm not talking about the suicides/depression but people being stretched thin, having to work shit-tastic hours, etc. It's not a good look for the NG in general for a lot of younger folks who are looking at the NG, but fortunately for Abbott, a lot of NG soldiers have to stick it out either because they are trying to reach a certain number of years, or for college benefits, or any other number of reasons that have nothing to do with Abbott's desire to draw attention to Texas. 5 years from now, most of these people will have had the chance to separate or retire or go active duty, and you'll see a lot different NG.
  5. This. If that wasn’t evident by today’s game, I don’t know what would prove it to Levy.
  6. Swallowed a whole spare rib. Impressive.
  7. It’s nuts. There have been three rollovers in the Houston area this week, including two in the Cleveland school district. All 58 kids on that bus were taken to the hospital.
  8. ::quietly looks around:: I am one of those people... what do you get if you multiply six by nine "That's it. That's the lot."
  9. You were a bowler? Fucking nerd
  10. if liking BABYMETAL is wrong i don't wanna be right
  11. lol trying to start a meltdown?
  12. Watching Panama and Australia and this Austrialia coach needs to be launched into the sun. His pitcher who is practically crying on the mound has thrown like 18 straight balls. 3 runs on wild pitches so far. Almost beans a kid. The coach doesn’t call time out nothing. This kid is in full meltdown mode and he sucks as a pitcher as well but damn coach
  13. I retract that statement, it was Connor Stroh at RG. My fault yall. I seen a big ass white boy lined up inside and jumped to conclusions.
  14. Passed as they were $440 for upper level
  15. Popped in there for the first time in awhile today and holy shit.
  16. “Well Dad it could have been better. I asked for fall off the bone ribs for a reason. But NO! You have to cook em like you like. If I was fed properly I wouldn’t have been so hungry and on the brink of starvation for the last 1897 days in a row and make bad decisions like this.”
  17. Kids love Austin. Kids also love Baton Rouge. I know this can be hard to fathom if you've ever spent any amount of time in BR or Tallahassee, but Black kids age 18-23 fall in love with both fairly quickly. They get most/all of the benefits of playing big time football, and they do it in close proximity to Southern and FAMU, respectively. Kids choosing aggy, I find harder to explain away - the NIL and gold Trans Ams probably move the needle a bit.
  18. Gotcha.
  19. It does, I have come to really love the old Junior/Special sound. See edit above though, I meant junior not special. I always reverse them. There's a line of thinking the Juniors sound better with the single P90, I think because the single route maybe? I'm not sure, there's some reason though.
  20. Seems legit. Has the conversion of dollars to shekels right there
  21. One could argue that without porn there would be no internet.
  22. Lamenting the inevitable fall of the Republic instead sounds preferable.
