  1. Past hour
  2. I guess Redstone believes that she'll be able to do just enough to get the transaction approved, but I think she's going to end up joining the long list of folks that end up being Lando to Trump's Vader ("pray I don't alter the deal further"). I think Jon Stewart said it pretty damn well yesterday:
  3. Same.
  4. Jubilee is a uniquely, monstrously cynical and hollow media org. It's literally just trying to capture the appeal of Roman gladiatorial combat in media form except it's boring/depressing as fuck.
  5. "Bless those who persecute you?" YOU aren't being persecuted, or is there something you're hiding? Do we need to ask your son to check your porn logs?
  6. Shane Gillis is hilarious. Tires is a masterpiece. If you think he's not funny, then just watch his bit about going to Mt. Vernon and George Washington. Or his bit about his uncle with Down Syndrome, grilled cheeses, the Special Olympics and John Cena. If you still don't like him, then fine but I think he is very funny.
  7. This. It surrounds morons with an agreeable audience that amps them up. In a world where talking loud, repetitively, and fast means you "won" the argument. Sure, smart people get to sit back and point and laugh about how fucking stupid and crazy these people are. But these idiots--and those like them watching--get power in feeling like they just owned some intellectual, annoying lib. What's the point? Get them one on one and dismantle their whole belief system without other racists to back them up.
  8. Someone, somewhere in this thread mentioned the bone in question was the hamate which makes sense from the perspective that surgery really won't repair the problem. I remember Griffey Jr. having a broken hamate and went to look up information on his issues and found an article talking about Jr. having the bone removed which also included this line in the story, "On May 26, 1995, Griffey fractured two bones in his left wrist while making a spectacular catch against the Kingdome’s right-center field wall. Griffey missed 73 games, but returned to play the rest of the season with a 4-inch metal plate and seven screws attached to his wrist." Not wanting to go angry old man who talks about back in my day players didn't take days off and we don't know the full details, but when I read the comments from Alvarez etc...and am reminded that AFTER returning from surgery with a FUCKING plate in this late wrist he hit over 200 HR's in his next 4 seasons for Seattle, wtf is going on with Alvarez and I don't believe it is all the Astros medical staff.
  9. Missing layups while nobody plays defense. Such a great sport.
  10. Me logging on the Masters app to collect my practice round tickets:
  11. dean corll (the candy man) is the subject of episodes 210-212 of last podcast on the left. worst serial killer in american history (to that point) was operating in houston and the police just didn't give a shit because the heights was a shitty neighborhood and the cops really didn't investigate crimes against gay men and teens. "he probably just ran away"
  12. What an evil, sanctimonious, perverted git.
  13. The guy over Scottie's shoulder graduated from high school with my daughter. Played a little college golf and then quit to become an "influencer". Had a little bit of a run, but hasn't posted anything in a year or so. I know he was doing some stuff with Bryson, so maybe he has just become more behind the scenes.
  14. Seems like networks have come full circle. Originally those timeslots were the old test screens. NBC decided to fill the slot with the tonight show bringing in multiple advertisers rather than just one sponsor. The model took off and spread. Now that we can get highlights anytime we want online, no need to watch the full show. Definitely speaks to the state of tv. It was mentioned on the doc I watched. Carson highlights were talked about that water cooler the next day and if you missed it, too bad.
  15. Sportswriters are the dumbest people in the world who get paid to write. Bohls personifies that. He's also always overcompensated in his Texas writing for fear of being called a homer. He was covering A&M during the Sherrill years and clearly liked tooting their horn. You can't really expect the moron chorus of sportswriters to grasp such a complicated proposition as two (two!!!!) different sources of revenue for a player. They also run like a herd, these idiots. Expect this notion about Texas being different and sorta evil to take hold for a while as the morons keep quoting each other about it. At some point, a sports pundit will want to be contrary and contest this notion about Texas. Then the herd will thunder in that direction because everybody really wants to associate with success.
  16. I don't know how y'all do it. I find this format absolutely unwatchable.
  17. This is true but a few things. It's hot in Texas anyway. Prices are lower because its off season. There is the ocean and pools to cool off. You usually get a coastal breeze.
  18. Dude is so inbred he's probably 24 years old and looks 47.
  19. Been using Merlin for several years. Great little app.
  20. About fucking time. Will be nice to finally have a true goal scorer on the squad instead of relying on every other player on the pitch that isn't Kai Havertz.
  21. I still suck at recruiting so that’s fun
  22. If you still want to go, I can send you a file for you to open?
  23. Uh huh. Sure, they'll bitch and moan (louder than normal) for a couple months about not getting their military tribunals. Then what, Marge? What are you loonies going to do then? You'll rationalize that it still beats the alternative and keep marching right along.
