  1. Past hour
  2. I don't trust a word that social media freak/alleged home wrecker has to say. He'll do anything for attention. Having said that, I was there this weekend and noticed it was a bit light. I think the complaints about high prices are just that: complaints rather than objections. Last year the fair had its highest attendance of all time and prices were steady as far as I could tell. We'll get a better picture of fair attendance during the shootout and final weekend of the fair as they're the busiest.
  3. No. I think the idiocracy is so strong in this country that that the label "progressive" is problematic. I think because of this idiocracy progressives do need to focus and simplify the message, and redefine their approach to law enforcements' trampling on civil rights and creating equality of opportunity without focusing on "identity" outside of economic status. Just because anyone with a brain knows that Black Lives Matter doesn't mean the term hasn't been turned into a weight by the rabble.
  4. Love the idea but is ANYONE in the D party doing any kind of messaging at all? Their silence for the past 10 months juxtaposed against what we all know the R's would be doing if the script were flipped is nauseating.

    Austin FC

Biggest game in club history. Let's go get our first trophy.
  6. Day 4 of some bullshit that feels like a combo sinus infection and Flu that settled in my lymph nodes. on the upswing as far as pain but still lethargic.
  7. Pretty unimaginable stuff to hear from a Speaker of the House in any context. I can’t recall a single instance of one saying how awesome it would be if the President could do stuff without Congress at all. We are basically gone as a constitutional republic, as 2/3 branches just…willingly handed over everything to the third. https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/johnson-shutdown-ultimately-could-benefit-162049837.html
  8. this isn’t that hard. have someone on the left send out the only messaging any dem should use across all platforms or in person. something like, “a year ago, americans voted in a bunch of dishonest and incompetent republicans who now control the house, the senate, and the presidency. you are seeing that dishonesty and incompetence in action. elections have consequences and we’re tired of being the fucking janitors every time the republicans make a mess. we will continue to use our limited power to keep you healthy and safe. that’s what we’re fighting for.” if the gop wants to let this country burn for a year, they’ll find out next nov.
  9. Did all of the criminals who marched through a ransacked Capitol yelling “hang Mike Pence,” lose their jobs?
  10. It's giving if Chanel and Gucci got together and then did a retro telecom logo from the 90's
  11. Rocket went live today with their takeover of Mr. Cooper. Lots of calls.
  12. Rocket went live today with their takeover of Mr. Cooper. Lots of calls.
  13. It could just be a scenario where they called a route right into coverage. It happens. I did like this video, I think this guy does a really good job. Nice to see his assessment that Arch snapped out of it and was a different player. I could feel that in the game, I hope he just doesn't have to work into that every game.
  14. What are the viable alternatives? I have read that the Euro leagues only pay the absolute top players large salaries and the rest get the scraps. The 3 on 3 does not have the capacity to absorb the entire league even at their current salaries. Are there really alternatives that pay the same amount for 4 months of work? Yet multiple WNBA agents, granted anonymity in order to openly discuss details of overseas payouts, estimate only five to 10 players make more than $500,000 in a given season abroad, and that is when high-paying countries like China and Russia are fully accessible to WNBA players. “It’s always been a very small elite group that are getting paid like that,” one agent says. “And everybody else is getting paid OK.” What do WNBA players make overseas? Not as much as you’ve heard - The Athletic This doesn't even touch things like the Russian billionaire money laundering accusations etc
  15. We did, went in August. We had a great time. After 2 days, our 5 year old told my wife, "I thought they were talking weird, but now I know that's just the way they talk here." To see his world open in that moment was very cool and about 99% of the reason to bring the kids. If you're going with family, let me know and I can throw a couple of things your way. As far as the language, pretty much everyone you interact with speaks good English. Whenever we went anywhere, out of respect, we would always great them in French and try to ask what we needed in French as well ("quatre pains au chocolat, s'il vous plaît", etc), but as soon as there was a mispronunciation or wrong inflection, they would switch to English. It's just a generational thing for younger French people. They don't care.
  16. meh on that Nike branding effort logo for CC. Expected something a lot better...
  17. It's a negotiation, at least partially happening publicly in the media. That's why we get owners lying about their true costs, or at a minimum not correcting people who make egregious assumptions about "the W has and never will turn a profit!," and the players are going to do it from the other side to appear reasonable by saying "hey we're just asking for the same deal the men have, not on a dollar but on a percentage-basis." Like any negotiation, it will land somewhere in the middle. The owners don't get to set the value of their labor, that is set in the market and the players do have alternatives that currently pay them more, especially the stars. The owners just need to decide if they're willing to pay the new market rate, or go for a lockout. And I guess the players need to decide if the value of the WNBA's amazing platform is worth giving a discount to on their salaries. I come down more on the side of the players than the billionaires, but none of us here know what's actually going on in the room where it happens.
  18. NASA must not have got the memo
  19. My best friend in Seattle went to the UW-tOSU game and sat with the Big Cigars. He said that Jedd Fisch is going to leave Washington at the end of the season. Even though Florida isn't open yet, Fisch has already expressed interest in other jobs, and the Big Cigars really hate him. I hope we hire Ryan Grubb this time.
  20. You left off using tariff revenue to bail out soybean farmers.
  21. Chuck Schumer is so fucking worthless, how does he keep getting elected as Minority Leader? The guy can't communicate, he's senile and he's the only known dinosaur that is also an invertebrate. Someone called Hakeem Jefferies "AIPAC Shakur" and I think that's hilariously accurate. He's worthless too, now I see why the Dem establishment picked him as the next Speaker. Dems need to champion issues, not the process and rules. The issue isn't that you are not agreeing to a CR, the issue is that the American people don't even know what the fuck you are holding out for.
  22. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/trump-defunding-council-of-inspectors-general/ It’s happening.
  23. Just struck me that President Huff & Puff (while not blaming everything on Joe Biden) is actually embracing Socialism (or is it Communism...well anyway) Japan handing over $500 billion in investment funds that require Goverment (aka Trump) approval. Taking a stake in Intel, MP Materials, Lithium Americas, and a "golden share" in US Steel and those are the ones that come to mind. I can barely imagine what MAGA, conservatives, Republicans and Libertarians would say if Obama or Biden said they wanted to take a stake in a Company. Feel free to tear apart the details of these deals, add ones that I missed and/or to point out how awesome it is that the US is getting it's money's worth vs. picking winners.
