  1. Fuck all the noise. Kid is a lifelong Longhorn fan. He is from Texas. He lives in Texas. Texas now has a HC and QB coach that can develop him and put him in the NFL. There is a proven track record. We have Winfield, We have Blue. We are going to get Stewart, Thompson, and whoever else the fuck we want. If Ewers doesnt come to Texas with this staff, this class, and the way he fits in Sark's offense so much better, then he was never ever coming to Texas. It is the perfect situation for him. The staff knows it, Ohio Fuck off State knows it, Ewers parents know it. and yeah, Quinn knows it. Come home son. Texas forever.

  2. I know we’re off on a “VotEr fRaUD” tangent but to bring it back to AOC and Tlaib and other members of “The Squad”.... I have have a real fucking problem with all these Republican men trying to belittle and mansplain about trauma without acknowledging how female trauma is fundamentally different than male trauma. Until you spend your entire existence knowing 50% of the population is physically stronger and bigger than you. And live with the fear that the same 50% has a element of sexual violence that often accompanies physical violence that isn’t usually a threat to men. And being told your whole life that it’s your responsibility to “act right” (don’t go anywhere alone at night, don’t dress a “certain way”, be “polite” to vulgar predators to placate them instead of pushing back, to take the responsibility to avoid “problems” instead of forcing the predators to “act right”, to just grin and bear and it. Women live with a entirely unfair and unjust system that requires them to modify their existence in order to “be safe”. All that conditioning from the time we’re faced with the fact that hatred from men includes an acknowledgment that any threat to use includes a calculation most men never have to even think about in passing. Men may have to worry about getting beat up - women have to worry about sexual violence on top of physical violence. Do we think Adam Schiff or Bernie Sanders or Ted Lieu get very detailed rape threats? No, of course not. That element of threat to women adds an entire extra level of fear. That manifests itself in more severe fear and anxiety and a trauma. So for men to brush off that very significant element of the difference between how men and women deal with threats and the resulting lasting trauma. So, in conclusion, until I hear these men acknowledge that there is an extra level of threat when it comes to women vs. men I invite them to shut the fuck up.

  4. I appreciate the honesty. What I'm about to say is not meant as an insult, it's meant as a description. You are not a voter of conservative principle or a believer in democracy, you are a supporter of the Republican Party in whatever form it presents itself to be. On one hand you are honest enough to admit that Trump and his sycophantic followers perpetuated monstrous lies to try and steal an election President Biden won free and fair, but on the other hand you're cool with the Cawthorns, Beiberts, Hawleys, Goehmerts, and Marjorie Taylor Greenes because "sAY nO tO LiBS!" We are not asking you to not be a Republican or abandon your conservative beliefs, we're asking you to be a goddamn sensible American. Put your love of country over your love of party and stand with us in demanding full accountability of those seditionists who perpetuated the Big Lie that led to the Jan 6th insurrection. When you tepidly just wish DJT would go away and become invisible and you just shrug your shoulders at the GOP empowering lunatic crazies in Congress, you are rubber stamping the move to fascism in the GOP. YOU. ARE. THE. PROBLEM.

  6. Got a worried call from the neighbor last night, “Something is wrong with Charlie and Tommy is at practice, can you come help?” When I got there Charlie was lying in the back yard and couldn’t stand up. He looked really down. I talked to him for a minute and then carried him in and laid him on the couch. He passed a few hours later. RIP Charlie, you were a damn good dog. I feel so bad for my neighbors: Charlie predates all three of their young boys.

  8. I mean, all manner of yucky things can be found funny by some but intent is more important than the humor. That dumb meme wasn’t meant to be funny. It was meant to put AOC in the same category of Jussie Smollet - who actually fabricated an attack by MAGAs for attention. Literally none of that applies to what happened to AOC on January 6th. It’s a radical right wing attempt to deflect from the violence and sedition perpetuated by people like GRHorn and make it about the bullshit narrative that AOC is a lying attention seeker. Impressionable yokels see that and it confirms their racist and sexist attitudes and thus becomes truth. It’s dangerous and it is a tactic taken directly from disinformation efforts propagated by our foreign adversaries. Dress up an outright lie in a “funny meme” and studies show that method has staying power in minds primed to believe that garbage more than an article or a tweet. It’s part of the reason assholes like Trump and his merry band of fascists were successful. The plausible deniability by dressing it up as a “joke” gives them cover for disseminating lies and propaganda. So no, stripping away the intent to reduce it to “just for laughs” plays right into their strategy of trying to minimize their complicity and attempts to victim blame and flip the narrative away from the culpability and redirect to blaming the victims. It’s garbage and not the least bit funny. Stripping away the disgusting intent renders any feeble attempt at “It’s just jokes guys! Why so serious?” moot. TL;DR - no, it’s not funny.

  9. This is #bothsides-ing an issue without two sides. We have a "stable voting system". You are continuing to add gasoline to the fire, you're just doing it with a squirt gun so you don't feel so bad about it. Recount after recount after recount . . . zero . . . ZERO . . . nada . . . zed evidence of any fraud or even mildly consequential irregularities. I think the thing I tire of the most is this bizarre notion that opinions are facts. No, facts are facts. You don't get to contradict facts and justify doing so just because you see things differently. You see things differently because you either have not been trained to set aside bias, or worse, you know you are biased but won't make the effort to seek out the truth. The truth doesn't matter to you. It's a flaw in your development, your upbringing, your education. It's a crying shame.

  11. Yeah, all those Squad bitches are jus drama queens. It’s not like they have been getting legitimate death threats that required the FBI to step in since the day they were sworn in or anything. It’s not like Ilhan Omar got disgusting threats from one of the actual insurrectionists prior the the riot. And reported him to law enforcement authorities and nothing was done. Just attention seeking dramatics, right???

  12. Dude, russian did fuck with previous election. But it didn't do it by manipulating voting systems. It did it by manipulating voters. It isn't the same issue and it won't be solved by the same solution. The fact that you equate the two just shows how ignorant, arrogant, and/or willfully obtuse you are. There has been no substantial allegations that Trump didn't win the 2016 election. The allegations and evidence have been that he was materially assisted by a foreign adversary with its own agenda. These are essentially undeniable at this point to anyone who is even somewhat rational and informed.

The humblebrag is our teachers actually care about our children and aren't mind controlled by or beholden to idiotic fucking anti-science teacher associations or unions that don't give a single solitary fuck about the well being of students. And if they were so inclined, we would fire their asses and have a line of people waiting to replace them.

  16. Focusing on tiny aberrations in voting systems state to state ignores FAR bigger problems like voter suppression and gerrymandering. Take Alabama: * voter ID is required, but public housing IDs don't count, thereby disenfranchising primarily minority voters * voter registration sites were completely closed in primarily minority counties, requiring potential voters to travel 10s of miles in a car they don't own and on public transportation that doesn't exist Or consider Harris County, TX, where they shut down all but one voter dropoff location for a county of nearly 5M people. Come on. We have problems with our voting "systems" in this country, but those related to ballot counting are absolutely dwarfed by malicious actions intended to suppress minority votes. You're barking about the wrong thing.

  22. Richard Dawkins has long argued that we should not respect people's religious beliefs because it gives them credence; it basically says "OK, if you believe that, great, your belief is just as valid as that which we can actually observe in the natural world." Well, this was kind of his point. This is how you get to a place in which people believe that their totally absurd, baseless ideas about reality are just as valid as actual reality. The crossover into politics and power is as old as time itself. World views have to be rooted in something; when groups of people cannot agree on basic facts - even those that are observed, known, etc. - then there is no reasoning, there is no logic; only chaos and barbarism.

  26. Before a single vote was cast, Trump repeatedly said the only way he could lose would be if the election were rigged. The R Senate refused to take up HB 2722, which would have required a paper trail from these voting machines. The House passed other election security bills which were ignored by the Senate. Voting by mail has a paper trail built in to the system, but the POTUS continually sowed distrust in that voting method prior to the election. It is hard not to see the insurrection as the culmination of an ongoing strategy. Reports that Trump appointees hamstrung capitol police response further supports that belief. Conceding elections, after losing the vote, is in the best interest of the nation. Any person who puts personal ambition above the country’s best interest is a shitty person. A Party that supports an individual putting themselves above the country is a shitty Party. Rs need to clean up their shitty Party.

For me to know this information, though, I’d have to either 1) be Stan Drayton (again, I’m not); 2) have been there in person; or 3) have heard the story directly from Stan Drayton. I can assure you I fall in one of those categories. You telling someone he’s full of shit... Oh, the irony.

  30. Comments like this always bother me. I think our fanbase is reasonable and patient. There are 2 sports that really matters (especially when it comes to $), football & men's hoops. In the last half century, covering 100 seasons of the 2 most important sports, Texas has 1 championship. What has out fanbase done? We've made the University of Texas the wealthiest athletics department. We've given a lot, with very little return, and we keep giving.
