How I envision most of the night crew and the importance of this thread in their lives:20 points

Found this board a week+ ago and haven’t had this much entertainment, well since the Saban to UT rumors way back when...let me add my unsolicited 2 cents worth. - Not going to Bama...wins would always be tainted as riding Saban’s coat tails... - ND, meh maybe, but don’t see Jelly leaving soon... -UT...blue blood also....UM can return the stories program to prominence, become winningest coach, succeed where turtle Tom could not and UM would prove who the master is and allow him to give the ultimate FU to turtle tom - This PIC shows Gainesville, Columbus and Austin.......Gainesville and Austin are close enough to the same latitude to almost form a right triangle....triangles are viewed in some cultures as representing trinities....1 trinity a triangle is said to describe is Past, Present and Future....if you start with Gainesville you can figure the rest out and where it leads. It’s happening ......Get your Horns up!20 points

None of this makes sense. From all the rumors and reports. 1. Urban had indicated to Texas he wants to coach again and would only do so at Notre Dame, Texas, USC. 2. Flirtation between Texas and Urban since the ou game. 3. Urban gives Texas his list of demands, and Texas says yes to everything. 4. Urban is totally uncomfortable on the fox set and it starts to leak that it’s happening Sunday morning. 5. Sunday evening complete 180 flip that he’s not coming because of health reasons but he still may coach somewhere later. What the fuck. None of this makes sense. Who the hell turns down 80 million. His fucking grandkids would be set for life and then their their grandkids would be set for life as well. He publicly turned down the tOSU job just take it 2 weeks later. He has yet to even mention the Texas job and they completely avoid showing him on the Fox set when they talk about Texas. All the while, CDC continues to leave Herman out to dry. After all the quick movement with Meyer, nothing has come out all week as to whom they may be targeting. I’m with alpha horn. It’s going to be Meyer. Everyone plugged in on Sunday was jumping saying it was done. What changed? Health reasons is the dumbest excuse because no way you get that far into negotiating for a job if you’re not sure you’re healthy enough to coach again.17 points

Nothing better than going to a burger joint and you have to know a secret menu to make it fucking edible. I’ve had In N out once and that was more than enough. Below average burger and completely inedible fries...I could make better fries out of a frozen bag in the air fryer. I will never understand the hype15 points

One thing to remember about the "He loves Ohio State" narrative - it's false. He still has close relationships with the coaches and support staff, and there are some players he likes, but the administration of the school made him the scapegoat to end the Zach Smith scandal, removed him from his role as HC, and did nothing ultimately to shield him from the embarrassment that transpired. I'm not apologizing for the guy, given that I think he was a piece of shit for lying about Smith in the first place, but anyone thinking he's got some sort of lasting affinity for the school, that's bullshit. That's why it's hilarious watching all of the OSU honks talk about how much he loves and respects the school.14 points

So according to FCB, UT is leaning towards keeping Herman. Urban is leaning towards not coaching. He’s leaning away from Texas. I’m leaning towards pm’ing my nude album of awesomeness. Which of these statements is true? Which is false? Is there even a barometer here? Until there is an unequivocal No from UM I tend to believe in all the smoke. And until CDC says “Hey guys! Burn your season tickets! I’m keeping Herman for 2021! Gotta give his new staff a chance to gel. Covid is a rough year to do this!” I will continue to hold out hope that we still have a shot with UM. Shame on you, day crew! Shame! Bringing me down man!14 points

So since this is very much happening how do we want it to go down? My vote is he announces at the end of his last Fox broadcast that "You can go to hell -- I'm going to Texas" and walks off the set.13 points

Mask compliance here is shit - maybe 60%? And my hospital is absolutely swamped right now. We have 103 inpatients currently in a 268 bed facility. We currently have an additional 21 PUIs. And the admission criteria has gotten more strict, so these patients are much sicker than the ones who were hospitalized in earlier waves. We just had to convert our PACU to handle our ICU overflow. We’ve canceled elective procedures again. We’re scrambling to find competent locums physicians to come work for our ED and hospitalist group and we’re also using some of our surgeons for coverage there. We’ve put out a call for retired nurses and docs to come help. This is the worst it’s been since the pandemic started and yet no leaders are even suggesting rolling back to the mitigation measures we had in place in the spring when we were running around 25 hospitalized cases. I had to call the actual police today. A visiting family member was absolutely berating one of our staff who screens anyone coming in the hospital. It’s madness and I’m afraid and I’m exhausted.13 points

I'm of the opinion that I don't give one fuck what something is called in the Czech Republic. Here, in this state, kolaches have meat in them. When some hipster or foodie dipshit who overrates themselves and their importance pipes up pedantically to tell a room what they're actually "supposed" to be called during a breakfast meeting, they're shouted down and told to shut the fuck off, and we take their fucking kolaches away.12 points

The Preliminary Statement basically tells Texas to get fucked. PRELIMINARY STATEMENT Since Election Day, State and Federal courts throughout the country have been flooded with frivolous lawsuits aimed at disenfranchising large swaths of voters and undermining the legitimacy of the election. The State of Texas has now added its voice to the cacophony of bogus claims. Texas seeks to invalidate elections in four states for yielding results with which it disagrees. Its request for this Court to exercise its original jurisdiction and then anoint Texas’s preferred candidate for President is legally indefensible and is an afront to principles of constitutional democracy. What Texas is doing in this proceeding is to ask this Court to reconsider a mass of baseless claims about problems with the election that have already been considered, and rejected, by this Court and other courts. It attempts to exploit this Court’s sparingly used original jurisdiction to relitigate those matters. But Texas obviously lacks standing to bring such claims, which, in any event, are barred by laches, and are moot, meritless, and dangerous. Texas has not suffered harm simply because it dislikes the result of the election, and nothing in the text, history, or structure of the Constitution supports Texas’s view that it can dictate the manner in which four other states run their elections. Nor is that view grounded in any precedent from this Court. Texas does not seek to have the Court interpret the Constitution, so much as disregard it. The cascading series of compounding defects in Texas’s filings is only underscored by the surreal alternate reality that those filings attempt to construct. That alternate reality includes an absurd statistical 2 analysis positing that the probability of PresidentElect Biden winning the election was “one in a quadrillion.” Bill of Complaint at 6. Texas’s effort to get this Court to pick the next President has no basis in law or fact. The Court should not abide this seditious abuse of the judicial process, and should send a clear and unmistakable signal that such abuse must never be replicated.11 points

And here they are - the fucking circlejerking, pretentious food clowns who can't accept what's been indoctrinated into common vernacular in Texas regarding what a kolache is. I'm guessing you guys all also take a hearty amount of pride in correcting millennial dipshits when they misuse "literally", correct anyone when they use "can" instead of "may", and are ardent supporters of the handlebar-moustached bartender movement to didactically correct anyone who deins to show up at a bar and order a vodka martini because of what constituted a martini in the strictest since roughly 80 years ago. Congrats on your pedantry, day crew. Meanwhile, there are numerous fucking shops selling kolaches with sausage, brisket, boudin, ham, cheese and sundry other savory items throughout the state, and calling them that. "Well I'd never order a 'kolache' from Shipley's or the Kolache Shoppe. Pfffft. I'd never stoop to such levels, sir. I happen to travel out to Rosenberg or Columbus when I crave a proper klobisnicky, as they're known by the pure Czech epicurean connoisseurs, and I look down on the rest of you heathens the entire 90 minute drive there, and as I rush the 90 minutes back before blowing out my asshole on my curated Japanese toilet." Good for you guys. I'm sure y'all are all a blast at parties. Also, getting some pretty definitive statements from places that Urban Meyer is more or less just working to destroy Herman's career and isn't incredibly interested in the Texas job after hearing about the "complications" at length from a former beloved, sweet, magnanimous HC at Texas who'd never, ever worry about anyone else impacting his legacy from his time at Texas.10 points

I thought there was 0% chance UM was going to take the job, but that interview is causing me to reconsider. Here's the thing: he could have easily said "I'm open to taking the perfect job in the future, but where I'm right now is that it would impact my health too much, so I'm not going to be taking a job this year." That would have relieved a lot of people of some anxiety and uncertainty-- OSU assistants that he might take with him, Herman, Herman's assistants, fans of both fanbases, family friends, etc. But that's not what he said. He said nothing about this year. He just made a general statement. So now there's a lot of people whose lives would be impacted if he takes the job, who are going to need to twist in the wind a while longer. And if he was truly decided on not taking a job this year due to his health, I don't see any reason in the world that he wouldn't just state clearly that it wasn't going to be this year. He wouldn't need to mention Texas, or confirm that Texas contacted him, or anything. So, I'm not sure if it was just imprecise phrasing on his part, or if he's playing games for ratings or to screw with Herman, or if he is still open to the idea of accepting the UT job this year. It's sort of puzzling.10 points

First off, I'm 100% Texan so I know what I'm talking about. These are kolaches. Kolaches are meat filled baked goods from I-35 and Hwy 71. I'm not saying I dont like fruit pastries (sort of like a Kolache but with fruit), but let's get the nomenclature correct. I will agree that The Czech Stop is grossly overrated, but I'm just comparing them to your mom's, which are BY FAR the best, hands down10 points

If Trump, who lost the electoral college by the same margin he won in 2016 that was a "historic blowout" by their own standards, is somehow President of the United States after 12:01pm on January 20, 2021, the entire country will rip apart. Civil War and Secession 2.010 points

The lawsuit is fucked up for multiple reasons. Obviously, there is the question of standing and states' right - "the law". Obviously there is the fact that the basis for the challenge lacks any compelling evidence - "the facts". But something I think what is being under-appreciated is how fucked up it is that the official state governments are using not only the tax dollars, but the authority, of the state to pursue a purely political endeavor. This is not fighting for water rights for all Texans, or even a partisan policy issue like abortion rights. This is purely an attempt to install a political ally, and using the state government to do so. It is extremely similar to what Trump got impeached for - using the government's funds and position for purely political gain. It is corruption, right out in the open.10 points

From SCOTUS BLOG: A group of prominent Republican lawyers and former senior government officials filed a “friend of the court” brief supporting the four states. They told the justices that there are “myriad” reasons to turn down Texas’ lawsuit but emphasized one: The “Constitution does not make this Court the multidistrict litigation panel for trials of presidential election disputes.” Texas’ claims, they argued, “make a mockery of federalism and separation of powers.”10 points
