  1. that entire post is full of shit, and nothing but whiny excuses trying to justify TTU's blatantly unjustified spite and hatred towards Beard, the man who took the TTU program to never before seen heights, only to take the *obviously better job* at his alma mater. fuck y'all's excuses for acting like petulant little bitches, as they're all complete horse shit. just own it at this point. just say, "Chris Beard was our best chance to be relevant and now he's gone and we're upset." stop with the ridiculous justifications for the TTU reaction to Beard leaving.

  2. Happy stray story. I saw this little dude wandering down the street one day about a month ago. Stopped to see if he was someone's puppy and he ran straight up to my truck and jumped in when I opened the door. Dirty and skinny as hell. No chip, not fixed. A bona fide stray. Wife took him to the vet and got him checked out and we held onto him for a few nights while trying to find someone to take him. If we were looking for a new dog we'd have kept him in a second, but we've already got 2 rescues and absolutely not in the market for a 3rd. Luckily, he was young and cute as a button and it only took 3 days to find him a great family in the neighborhood. Here he is a month later in his new home. Was only 21 lbs when we found him, now up to 30, should eventually top at out 40.

  3. The continued fear mongering shit is what is getting me. Watched one of the national news shows last night and big headlines on the "Fourth Surge" and some public official (not federal govt, some local guy from midwest or NE) saying we could be weeks away from hospitals being overrun again, etc. I mean absent vaccines not working against a variant or a variant causing more severe cases in younger population that's pretty much statistically impossible at this point given where we are in the vaccination process. Why can't people just make the point that it would be a shame to get sick or die this close to vaccination so to be safe just a while longer without the over-the-top fear porn that makes anyone remotely intelligent roll their eyes? You completely waste any useful messaging when it's littered with intellectually ridiculous arguments. I've been pretty conservative throughout the pandemic but I'm starting to think there really is something to there being a certain segment of population that will fight any sense of normalcy until there is zero risk of getting sick (which was never the fucking point).

  5. Lots of aggy-esque angst and bitterness over Drew and Baylor. They won. Get over it. College coaches with questionable dealings, personal shortcomings and differing private / public personas? Who knew? I’m sure all of our coaches are saints at home and at work It is easy for some to hold others to the highest standard yet be lax in holding themselves to the same. Baylor is good. Really good. Drew has become a better coach. We aren’t good and are now with yet another new coach. In the end does it really matter? Is this that important to you?

  6. Personally, I think we should refuse to pay the $4M buy out and claim sovereign immunity. Then take that $4M and give it to Coach Leach and say the rest of TX is trying to apologize that is the embarrassment of TX Tech.

  7. Well not quite the baller above with the GT3 (although the more time I spend on the configurator the closer I get to the gt3 MSRP) but I snagged a MY2022 allocation for a C2S. Now I get to fuck around with configs for a while. Likely a Nov delivery is what I’m being told. I’ve waited my whole life to own a 911 and my one regret is not being able to do Euro delivery right now but oh well. Here’s my current spec that will no doubt change 20 times before the build locks. I’m between gentian and shark blue. Shark looks awesome but I’m not sure if it’s too poser on a non-gt car

  9. Nope, we can't discuss this. The American dream is to have a 1 in 100,000 chance of being super-rich, and for the other 99,999, suck it. To conceive of any other economic outcome is socialism, and means you are an evil commie conspiring with the ghost of Hugo Chavez. Go back to Venezuela, commie!

  12. I see what you are saying, but I don't think that's what the thread's spirit was. It was simply fuck them, especially for their rape enabling and murdering culture. They don't deserve to have anything good happen to them ever and it's fine to say that even when good things do happen to them. Fuck Baylor.

Ours is the shaman. See they got Jimmy's Jammin' Jambalaya. We got Donny's Lyin' Gumbo. We both got Cajun rice, shrimp, chicken, Andouille sausage and a spicy broth. But they cook their rice in the pot. Our rice is cooked separately.

  15. He left UNLV for Tech without coaching a single game. He wasn't even there 3 weeks until he left. Spare me on how "low" it was for Beard to leave Tech for UT after 5 years. He makes business decisions. Get the fuck over it.

  17. That Baylor team definitely deserved it. They were kicking ass all season. Great squad. That said, Baylor fans are still complete trash and Scott Drew is a dirty SOB. Nothing Christian about that school in the least.

  19. They didn't need an upper hand. Juvenile "trials" don't so much adjudicate guilt as make some kind of attempt to figure out wtf is wrong with them and what will result in effective rehabilitation. Having to adjudicate guilt and engage in an adversary process to determine a plan of rehabilitation is an expensive waste of time for everyone. If it can be done mostly by agreement, that's a benefit for all involved. It's probably safe to assume that these kids were raised by wolves, so a part of their "punishment" is likely to be being placed in an environment where they will be raised by humans as humans. If they continue to fuck up, they will be treated increasingly harshly. You can count on obtaining a diploma or GED being a part of their punishment. The whole juvenile system is premised on the idea that kids make mistakes. Sometimes horrendous, horrid mistakes. The adult prison system is damned near useless as far as anything but temporarily removing most offenders from society. That's great as far as it goes, I guess, but it also virtually guarantees that inmates will be nonfunctional upon return to society. There are mountains of evidence to support that. The juvenile system is premised on rehabilitation and makes an effort. As a general proposition it is much more effective than the rest of our carceral state.

  21. Zags might win a game if it was a 7 game series but no way they would win a 7 game series. They had no answer for Baylor. I think in the Sweet 16 against Nova, Baylor shot terribly from 3. And they just pounded it inside. That is what they would do against Gonzaga if their outside shots weren't falling (gee, like we should have did against ACU). Gonzaga might make some adjustments but there is no adjusting to a team that is more powerful and athletic across the board. Vital was a man among boys on the glass. And it isn't like Gonzaga shot poorly. The thing that could have made this different was all the Gonzaga turnovers. They were sloppy at times but I think that had to do with Baylor's defense. Gonzaga's offense usually looks like a well oiled machine that looks poetic to watch. Not last night, though. Baylor made them look like a team from a mid major that had no business playing with a big dog.

  28. Well when I met John wooden, I just had to ask him if he had any regrets in his coaching career. Almost before I could finish the question, he immediately replied that he did have one major regret and it was that he never left UCLA for the absolute privilege of coaching at Texas tech.

  31. I think most on here are unrealistic about the situation Beard had in Lubbock. He had a GREAT situation there. And while Tech isn't Kentucky, Beard was good enough to get them to the title game and if the ball bounces a little differently, he wins a National Title (and probably never leaves). He was gradually improving the facilities, culture and recruiting. Fan support was excellent. This was a very hard decision for him. He didn't hate Lubbock or he wouldn't have spent 15 years of his life there. I think it is telling that he didn't give Tech a chance to make him an offer. Because if they trot out a $10M / year offer (and they damn well might have done it), he was going to have to stay. What he had in Lubbock reminds me of dating a girl and actually being in love, having a long history and being reasonably happy, but knowing that ultimately someone out there is better for you. Some people end up sticking around out of obligation, but always slightly regret not making a break when they had a chance. Like in a movie where the guy says "if I go back in that apartment, I'm never leaving". That is exactly what would have happened if Beard gave Tech a chance to make their offer, because it would have been a Godfather offer.

  33. I have a cousin who went to Baylor and who subsequently sent her daughters to Baylor as well. They are staunch Baptists and are constantly playing the David vs the big bad Goliath of UT, be it in sports or whatever. Poor little tiny Baylor is so smart for being on the same level as UT, and even besting them repeatedly at major sports! Plus not just anyone can go to Baylor, it's very expensive, don't you know? That makes Baylor like the Ivy League school of Texas. But with GOD! I hear this shit constantly, and never anything about the rape enabling, cat mutilating, drug dealing basketball players or the Dennehy murder. To this day they still slant things against Bliss, making him the scapegoat. I'm sure he played a part, but I doubt seriously he was the lynchpin of the whole thing. Baylor is dirty, top to bottom when it comes to athletics. They need money to pay off that gold and green toilet bowl on the Brazos. It's been this way since Teaff was there. People pulling strings behind the scenes to get and keep the athletes they need. Using money, drugs, co-eds, whatever. And the whole time they do this, the rest of the world just lets them do it. Like pretend it doesn't happen and all is good. Instead they hold Baylor up as that holier than thou institute and applaud their David act against the rest of the secular world. I'm sick of it, and they don't deserve to be in the Big 12, or any organized athletics. But then money talks more than actual morals. Drew and Mulkey are about as slimy as stewed okra. Cat torture case Example of recent Blame Bliss articles.    Lazy journalism plagiarizing a documentary from some time back.
