  1. Right wingers couldn't trust the media because Fox News told them that all other media, the so-called liberal media, was lying to them. Then they convinced people that liberals were "the intellectual elite." They convinced the uneducated that being educated was actually a bad thing, which didn't take much of a push. So, liberals are liars, intellectuals are liberals and therefore liars, and therefore you can't trust any expert on anything. You can only come here for the truth. We're Fair and Balanced. From that point on, the truth for half of this country has been whatever Fox News wanted it to be. And the soccer moms on Facebook who did their research on the shitter that morning perpetuate the bullshit to their echo chambers. Everybody feels good, and validated, and part of the in-group, and see, those other people are idiots for going to college because we ended up smarter than them anyway. And now this mob of well-armed morons is so well-conditioned and intellectually malleable that the bad guys really shouldn't have to worry about any election for the next generation. Maybe ever. Hell, Joe Rogan has the younger generation on board already. I don't see how any of this is fixable. The continued dumbing down of public education all the way up to the university level will shift the numbers even more in their favor. I think we're all going to be old men and women someday lamenting what this country once was, most of us from abroad.

  2. Omfg... Stop blaming Democrats. It's not their fault that 77 million people voted for the dumbest worst candidate to ever run for any office ever. Those people wanted to hate and look down on others, they wanted revenge and retribution, they wanted to be childish and selfish and immature. They were obviously lied to over and over again and they know it but chose to believe it any way so they could watch him hurt the ones they want hurt. Dems weren't out-messaged or out campaigned for fucks sake. They were out-lied. His people are incompetent. His policies stupid. So unless you want Dems to blatantly lie or promise to hurt people, then I have no idea what you are trying to convey other than - Dems have lost touch hurrrr durrrr!!!! And the fact this same pattern is happening everywhere around the globe tells me it's not a Dem messaging problem. Look at the places where it isn't working and you will find that media outlets like Fox News are banned or simply don't exist.

  4. That JV Vench speech was full of lots of lies and distortions. It’s no surprise a certain someone is mesmerized by it while making the asinine claim that the Black woman VP wouldn’t have been able to even walk into the room without help. You’ve been hooked by the right wing propaganda but keep telling yourself you’re too smart to have fallen for it.

  11. We certainly have a disconnect, as you saying, I am β€œnot grounded in their class or privilege” hits my ears the same way as β€œdrain the swamp” - a phrase many people use without giving any details on what the hell they intend it to mean. I grew up in a working class/lower middle class family. One car. Neither my father or mother were college graduates. My privileged ass worked as a union laborer, a security guard, a cashier in a liquor store, a ditch digger, a non-union Mason’s helper, and a poor college student who had to work at the worst job invented by man - a shelf reader at the UF library. And by that I mean, you go down rows of books sorted by the Dewey decimal system and put β€œ9.312 A” between β€œ9.301 FG” and β€œ9.322 H”. IOW, mind numbing boredom Hell on earth. I’ve also spent 30 years representing plaintiffs in a city and state filled with extremely poor people, arguing cases to juries filled with people who are blue collar folks or poorer - who probably think I’m some elite sum- bitch just because I have a law degree. The essence of my job description is to attempt to successfully relate to those people. To your point, there is a large category of people who didn’t vote at all. And that same category has never voted much, so apparently there is no politician in the history of America in any party with any ideology that they relate to. (True, Trump did excite some of the non-voters to vote for him. Because, I guess, they did not think billionaire Trump was part of a privileged class). I know lots of lawyers and judges who are Trump fans. They share a hell of a lot in common with the single wide trailer Trump fans. And what those lawyers and judges share has nothing to do with not voting blue because they had a sense they could not relate to the Democrats because of privilege or class. Many of those lawyer/judge Trump fans were born with a silver KKK spoon in their mouth, so your class theory and being relatable is not meshing with my life experience. My life experience says they all share Trumpβ€˜s dislike for anyone who doesn’t fit their idea of the type of person your kind should hang with. They share the hope that Trump will make the lives of those black brown gay Muslim atheist trans people worse. Lastly, they also share the hope of getting richer under Trump. You say I missed the point about class and privilege? Please DO tell me about the privilege and class problem with some detail because I am honestly not getting what you’re trying to sell.

I'm so happy for him. He's slightly on the spectrum, so extremely quiet and shy. I've never heard him raise his voice or even cuss. He's had at least 8 job interviews over the past 3 months with no offers. I'm under the impression that his demeanor was a hindrance. And NOW.... a true Longhorn. Holy shit! My son is a Longhorn!

  24. Kamala delivered well-structured and thoughtful speeches three times at MSC, it was kind of her thing and Biden very notably assigned it to her. When you cook yourself in contrarian alternative media as Anastasia has, you become extremely ignorant in the classic sense. You just don’t know what is going on or has happened, no matter how much computing power you have. You end up believing tragically stupid things, like β€œKamala could never deliver a good speech in Munich.” Many such cases.

  26. To reiterate what I was told and wrote about on other threads, everything is going to be based upon on the premise of β€œprogram trajectory”, similarly to Pierce in baseball. Go to the tournament and lose on the first weekend? Flat to negative trajectory. Get to the Sweet 16 or better? Things are looking up. Don’t make the tournament? GTFO. The only gray area is a round of 32 finish. I pass this along from someone who is probably more important with next steps than anyone else.
