Founders expected any president using it for mafia, gangster bribery shit would be immediately impeached and removed by the congress. Or else the people would obviously vote out such corrupt leaders. The founders didnt see an instantaneous global network communication system so vast and powerful that the country could be turned into a hive mind programmed to worship the corrupt, incompetent president as a god-king.

  3. I retired at 57, and if I had been making money like a P4 head coach, I would've retired a lot sooner. Work is highly overrated.

  5. Josh Pate is on the payroll at TexAgs and Academy. He is being paid to overhype A&M and disparage Texas. No matter how much he jokes that he reads this on Texas message boards and says he can’t believe Texas fans would believe it, we know it’s true Josh so you can just admit it. Hell, use my name on your next podcast. In fact, I’ll come on your show and break it down for you.

GOP: "the main problem we have with voting is that if you allow people to vote, they often will do so. And voting is bad." The most anti-American political movement in our history, and the fuckers wrap themselves in the flag as they anally violate the Republic. I hate them significantly more with each passing day, and I already hated them with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns some time ago.

What trump has done to the republican congress is eerily similar to what Caligula did to the Roman Senate after his extended illness led his Praetorian Guard Prefect Macro to convince Caligula's heir Gemellus to prepare to ascend to the throne on Caligula's impending death. Once he recovered he humiliated the senate every chance he got, and they just ate it out of fear of execution. Of course the republicans of today are far greater cowards than the Roman senate, but trump has humiliated and emasculated them every chance he gets. They just eat it and smile. Even now when trump is at his weakest and can easily be taken down they refuse to put the knife in his back out of fear of losing their status and congressional seats. We are witnessing men and women who rank among the biggest cowards in all of recorded human history.
  9. Happy NSD to those who celebrate. @immamac should we fire up a signing announcement only thread for those who want to skim the news?

Rural white people can do this. Urban black people, many of whom work two jobs, can't. The chef's kiss will be when they bend over backwards to limit the number of polling places in major cities. And of course ICE will be on the scene "to ensure the security of our national election since we all know Democrats steal elections." This is why I keep scratching my head when people talk about who needs to run in 2026 and 2028 to take things back. Do these people seem like they have any intention of ever having another fair election, or ever leaving power? I fear that a lot of us are still in denial about what happened last fall.

ICE just raided Home Depot’s and Lowe’s, including one five minutes from my office. One of our Hispanic paralegals said that a bunch of them were outside an elementary school that has undocumented worker children attending. Since she is a citizen, she picks up a bunch of kids and takes them to school every day - and her husband takes them back home so the parents don’t have to be out on the road.

  13. when you’ve created a system that makes fans of programs like Texas and Alabama say, “in august/september we’d rather watch our team play sam houston state or arkansas state than ohio state or michigan”, you’ve created a shitty system.
  14. So, as our last remaining shot (as slight as it is), it seems like we need to root for blowouts in the major championships. Ohio State blows out Indiana to make our close loss look even better. Indiana drops somewhere in the 5-8 range. Tech crushes BYU again. BYU drops behind us and Miami. That puts Miami and Notre Dame next to each other in the rankings, and then the committee flips them based upon the head-to-head. Georgia destroys Alabama in a game that is never really competitive. Alabama drops behind Miami and Notre Dame. That puts us, Alabama, and Notre Dame all together. Play against common opponents is a stated criterion of the committee. Alabama lost to OU (and Georgia in this scenario). Notre Dame lost to A&M. We beat both of those teams by double digits. The committee could use that to justify us jumping both of them. That would put Miami at 9, Texas at 10, Notre Dame/Alabama at 11 and 12. What happens in the ACC doesn't really matter. Maybe I guess Duke winning it could adversely affect Miami. Reality is we are out. But if you want to see a path, that appears to be it to me.

I'd argue the Judicial has been doing the yeoman's work of keeping it together. But SCOTUS on its own has scuttled a lot of that. The Legislative is the real failure here. At least the failing Roman Senate had their Ides of March moment in the face of tyranny. We just have craven old men.

It's not that they don't report it. It's that they report it as if it were somehow normal.

Inflation, by it's nature, is a rate. There is no inflation for "today". There always has to be a delta t. And, yes, prices are higher in blue states. That's because it's where people want to live. That's how the free market works: price is a reflection of the perceived worth amongst the consumers. I am paying considerably more to live in Washington than I did in Nebraska. For me politics is part of the value I get for living in Washington, but I recognize for others there are usually other factors like career opportunities, big city appeal, and natural beauty.

  28. Go ahead and keep the Ohio State and Michigan games for 2026 and 2027 respectively because they will both be in Austin. These are the games they "owe" us after we went to their places. With 9 game SEC schedules next year, it makes no sense to ever go on the road to play a top 25 opponent in non-conference. Future Home and Homes with top 25 opponents need to be cancelled and replaced with programs like Syracuse, Boston College, Purdue, Rutgers and the like. All that matters is we schedule a power 4 opponent that we should beat 99 times out of 100.
  29. I’d be so sad if Wisner left. Dude always plays his best against OU and aggy

You know.....I'm actually pretty close to coming back around on making weed super-illegal again. Because it's inspiring the biggest idiots the planet has ever seen to spread their idiocy like fucking wildfire. It was fine when these losers were just in their basement pondering "what if, like, Jesus came back as this Cheeto . . . and I accidentally ate him?" Now that fucking brain-dead stoners have been elevated to society's greatest "thought leaders?" It ain't so fine.

  34. Don't know about y'all, but I feel great about Arch next year. It was a wild season but he settled in at the end. We have to see how it plays out, but I expect a significant upgrade at OL and RB next year after portal additions. That alone will do wonders for him. Still lots to work on for Arch personally...needs more anticipation and touch on some throws. Needs to tighten up his mechanics as well. But even with the dramatically up and down season, we saw a guy with elite pocket presence/movement, he can get through multiple reads, upper tier QB athleticism, he became a vocal leader, and he's tough as fuck. I do believe that all he's been through this year will make him stronger and better. 2026 is gonna be a big jump for him. LFG.
