  1. Pretty much what I was thinking. That he is the "podcast king" indicates all we need to know about this country.
  2. i/we do. still couldn’t tell you what team she plays for or what position she plays. i know her for two things: throwing a t shirt very very far, and for going on a podcast and saying that wnba players deserved a bigger cut of the league’s nonexistent revenue. don’t know anything about her game, her team, her skill set, etc.
  3. the musers the podcast episode dos was pretty solid.
  4. So I guess the national podcasts this season are going to be 50% Archmania and 50% House Settlement lawsuits? Please no realignment.
  5. The "Interview Room podcast" crew are upset with how involved the University of Idaho was during the entire investigation from the beginning.... One guy said the University was allowed way too much access and he was concerned that the killer might be connected to the University -- terrible protocol during the investigation. University also oversaw teardown of house. The panel was also frustrated that the prosecution asked for the gag order to stay in place -- lots of commentary about how this prosecution did a terrible job throughout the last 2 1/2 years. Feels like folks in Idaho just want this thing to go away quickly since they haven't tried many death penalty cases -- hell they might have been scared the prosecution might screw up and lose this case.
  6. As dumb as it was to say that shit on video, it was still funnier than anything joe rogan has ever said in any of his standup acts. His comedy specials are hideous. The podcast and his name recognition have done wonders for his ticket sales. I dare anyone to sit through the entirety of his last special. Maybe liver king could argue that rogan deserved a severe beating just for that last comedy special.
  7. You should listen to Ezra Klein’s podcast (I think released today) with Chris Hayes as they dig into the NYC mayor campaign. The comments on Spotify are hating on them for not talking policy, but they are geeking out about Mamdani’s mastery of social media in a way that’s a far more useful appraisal of campaign strategy in 2025 than another analysis on policy preferences. In other words, doom and gloom don’t sell, the circus is what sells. Dems can win with that approach, Mamdani is exhibit one and it’s not taking his platform, it’s taking his media approach and communication strategy.
  8. I hear you. My hang-up is that he's going to grant a sit down to every single network, streaming platform and true crime podcaster that reaches out to him. You can tell from this guy's detached demeanor that he's going to speak at length about the minutiae with whomever wants to listen. 1 to 2 more generations of these four families are going to have to listen to this dipshit. His Dateline/48 Hours/2020 episodes will run in perpetuity on the MRDR!!! network. Books, podcasts out the ass... A trial would be an absolute nightmare but at least I would know that at some point in my lifetime I might actually see the day when he wouldn't be able to bloviate anymore.
  9. that page says he's been a student at cocks since august of 2016 the bayler polo indicating a waco connection leads to this: there is no church in waco with that name, but there is a church with that name in cocktown sc for someone with this prolific level of output, zero podcast appearances, zero interviews, zero youtube tiktok social anything, zero public events, zero, zero, zero
  10. I know they gave him his initial contract, but this time around, Bron gave Bron 50Ms. That whole situation is hilarious to me. LAs roster wasn’t winning anything in the west and then lose the, per media fucks, the best 3rd option in the league. LA is trying to be in rebuild around Luka mode. So in true Bron fashion, realizing the team isn’t about him anymore, takes his player option, putting 50 million handcuffs on the front office and has Rich put out a passive aggressive trade request. Now you’ll start to see guys like Nick Wright question the league cause “how can no one pick up the greatest player evarrrre?!!” All this only week(s) after Bron sits on a podcast talking about how weird ring culture is and it doesn’t matter to him lmfao The fact of the matter is, not one single contender for a title gets better adding him. OKC, Cleveland, Houston, NY, Denver are probably your top 5 chances next season. You aren’t getting Bron without a big contract moving plus young pieces or draft stock. OKC could do it, in theory, but are coming off a 68 win championship run with every single player that played significant minutes returning. And Presti isn’t a moron.
  11. That may be how the infection spread to older losers, and it may be how many of us recognize this part of the disease, but the youngs don't care about the NYT. They doomscroll and listen to podcasts. If Me Too is really the watershed moment, and it may be, I would see it akin to Reagan bringing the fundagelicals in from the political cold and giving them a permanent seat in the GOP boardroom. Millions of folks who were itching to make their backwards views a part of public life and discourse weren't radicalzied by Reagan, they were already there. Social media and bro-casters and others gave losers community, Me Too might just have shone a light on it and helped shitgibbon and co. bring them into the fold.
  12. Completely shocking. Never saw this coming. Just dumbfounded. I mean, it's not like every other commercial during NBA games or podcasts is for FanDuel or ProphetX or Draftkings. And there certainly isn't a show called ESPN Bet that is entirely devoted to gambling.
  13. Podcast was good, you can tell they're testing the waters on how casual they can be and how much they can get away with vs. on air. Something I'll need to get past is how their voices sound completely different compared to AM radio (I don't listen at all to 96.7). Throws me off without the AM radio-ification of the sound.
  14. Agreed. Agentic AI is going to be a huge deal across all verticals IMO. I heard on a podcast an amazing interview with one of these AI founders and thought it was actually quite empathetic (and honest) in that he essentially said, "the job displacement narrative is totally reasonable and you are a fool or worse yet a liar if you are peddling it as fantasy for everyone. If you are a call center in Manilla or a paralegal, there is a real conversation that needs to be had about job displacement and it's not naive, but it dismisses the second order of facts that there are huge upsides and positives as well". Add into that, not every red nickel saved is going straight to shareholders. Those firms will be out-innovated, out-competed and out-manuevered. A lot of that savings is going into strategic investements. Last thing and unrelated, but I thought it was interesting the detail around the court ruling from a couple days ago:
  15. I listen to Charlie's podcast but the other 2 guys...aren't good. Especially the whiny one who constantly melts down over things like a guy's 11 AB sample with 2 outs and runners in scoring position. He also writes a weekly-ish column that I usually don't remember to read. https://houston.sportsmap.com/u/charliepallilo
  16. Good question, playing tennis for one, but not sure with whom since the passing of Ken Hoffman. Doubt he is is going to El Campo to play with Small. He still does some podcasting and writes a few articles. Maybe after Ken's death, Charlie has decided to enjoy life.
  17. I think it was Dan Carlin’s podcast where I learned that Japanese culture at the time made surrender unthinkable. The alternative was firebombing Tokyo which would have killed a lot more people including American soldiers. The Emperor’s perceived divinity was a major issue and some within the Japanese military didn’t believe word of the surrender or disagreed with it and tried to keep fighting even after the second bomb. He even described finding Japanese soldiers in Southeast Asia decades later hiding in jungles who had no opponents to fight but they were ready. It was a lot I didn’t know or hadn’t really thought about. I don’t think it’s possible to form a real opinion on the morality of using the bombs to end that war. Back on topic, our leaders are fucking toddlers. It’s fucking fine to acknowledge that “complete obliteration” wasn’t necessary and wasn’t the goal. There are still strategic wins to be claimed. But nope gotta be like a 4 year old promising he drank all his milk and didn’t feed it to the cat. Super duper promise I’m not lying! And now it was the biggest most strategic thing evar! Fucking pathetic beta shit.
  18. I can honestly say as an OKC fan, I fully am and will enjoy this title. The Thunder got to OKC my sophomore year of HS and as a Texas fan with KD with the team, it was awesome being 30 mins from NBA games. Have I revisited all the dumbass podcasters who said OKC didn’t ever stand a chance at a title? Sure. Who wouldn’t? But I don’t defend shit. Bitch at me all you want, I’ll listen with a title shirt on. I respect your college team choice, but I could give a fuck what your opinion of NBA hoops is, seeing as you are a timberwolves fan. Your team is paying Rudy Gobert 100 million. Couldn’t be me.
  19. Just listened to Dia Bell interviewed on the Cover 3 podcast (link for anyone interested, it's at the start). About as media trained a high schooler as you'll ever hear, in the sense that he's very polished but not robotic at all. You didn't need to read between the lines to pick up that Arch staying 2 years has been communicated to him. He also sounds very willing to wait his turn. Really impressive prospect.
  20. I recommend this podcast's details surrounding the making of Jaws. i won't spoil it, but I didn't know that Spielberg wasn't the first director. Also, that Robert Shaw came up with the USS Indianapolis story on his own. Cautionary Tales - The Shark that Ate Hollywood HAHA. F me. See above. Don't post when you're eyes are dilated after your annual check up. Lesson learned.
  21. Cautionary Tales podcast had a "Jaws at 50" episode last week. It goes into the dynamic between Shaw and Dreyfuss quite a bit. There is a theory that Shaw was going really method to generate actual tension between the two so that it would come through in the performances. Once they filmed the Indianapolis story scene, Shaw's antagonism of Dreyfuss stopped completely.
  22. It's funny, I had the same thought after the election and he was on one of podcasts describing the current state of the Democrats and he's just kind of humorless, and worse for a campaign, boring.
  23. I cant sit and listen to podcasters really. I can handle Lowe and Russillo during exciting NBA times like the playoffs, draft trade rumors or free agency opening... but Simmons' voice gets to me after 15 min. and almost every subject has to be compared to something going on in Boston. then the convo drifts to more Celtics talk and hes able to burn another 20 min of his pod talking about something he really wants to talk about
  24. Sam Vecenie was on Jason Timps podcast. Said Tre had the best shooting workout he’s ever seen. For a teenager
  25. I am bit curious about injuries. A Longhorn baseball savant sent me a podcast with Schloss. He mentioned Mercer hitting 97. That’s two years running he seemed slated for a big role but pitched very little. Then Spencer. Last year was worse. Curious if we have a higher, more longed injury rate than others.
