  1. Except they wouldn't. Well, if they knew what I really thought about some things, maybe they would. But there's another layer there - in his position, I wouldn't fucking spout off as if I was an expert on all that shit. That's the point. He's found himself in a position of outsized power. So, his words matter a whole, whole, whole lot. A decent human being with any sense of judgment would take that into account. Elon? He's let that power go to his head, he believes his own bullshit, and he spouts off as if he was the expert on literally everything because he CAN, and because a large cadre of morons will listen and worship him. He's a weak, pathetic man. I have many flaws. But give me Elon money, and that wouldn't be one of them. The Dutch might. Can't trust those shifty wooden shoe-wearing motherfuckers. Sinister underbelly of Europe, I say.
  2. Wait....because I think that all human beings, including and ESPECIALLY people not in "my group" should be treated humanely and with genuine empathy....that's makes me like....Stalin? Thanks for making my point. I don't hold anyone in contempt for what they are, or are not. I hold them in contempt for what they do, and for what they will go along with/are okay with being done to others. Yes, I think that people who are okay with treating hispanics as sub-human, and are happy when they die in the Rio Grande, are fucking awful humans. Assholes like you use the word "tolerance" as a weapon to enable cruelty. You argue as if "tolerance" is a moral precept. It is not. It is a compact, a treaty. Those who will harm others, or enable harm of others, have opted OUT of that compact, and they do not deserve its protection. That's how treaties and compacts work.
  3. Sure they are. They have enough socialization not to say the quiet part out loud. But if a future Trump presidency set up .50 cals at the Rio Grande and mowed down thousands of brown people, they would be okay with it. Or they at least wouldn't be "not okay" with it. Read a history book. The Nazis and the Holocaust didn't happen only because of evil schemers who were anti-jew to their core. Nope. The Nazis and the holocaust couldn't have happened without millions of "ordinary" Germans who maybe didn't have any great hatred for jews, didn't have any particular desire to see jews murdered or persecuted....but they were okay with it happening, and were gonna go along with things because "hey, it's happening to them, not me." That's my point. That was Hannah Arendt's point. That's how hell on earth happens. Not because of a small cadre of demons. No. It's because of millions of people who are okay with demons doing demon things, so long as it's to "them," and not to "me and mine." A lack of human empathy. THAT is evil. People like you will defend and excuse this behavior all the way to and through the camps belching the smoke of burning bodies into the air. That is EXACTLY what happened before. And that is exactly the path you're following now. The hell of it is, you somehow think you and yours are different than those good, ordinary Germans. You're not. You're exactly the fucking same.
  4. He's a little smart about some things-- the things that he's historically worked on and made him money-- and he bloviates opinions on most everything else. So he's you (and me, and everyone else on this website), just with billions of dollars. Which I guess is why we get to punch up at him and call him stupid and we have the luxury of being poor nobodies that makes us think we are pretty nifty and clever in an "I could do that" kind of way. Imagine if you ever got famous or rich and become a somebody and people went through your tweets or posts here. Based on those (e.g. opinions and reactions and emotions about most things you are so amatuer in that nobody would think to pay you in those realms) think you were one of the biggest idiots in the world. "Probably a good or decent lawyer though, but man, what a dummy!" they'd say.
  5. Just because the frogs in the pot are used to the high temperatures doesn’t mean the rest of us are jazzed about hopping in. The justice system is working, but not well, mainly because it only works for the people that created it ($) and just because it’s what we got doesn’t mean we can’t make it better. The only way to make it better is to vote, which leads us into another problem in this whole democracy experiment, the electorate is a brainwashed cumstain that believes in fairytales and worships Kim Kardashian
  6. in my defense I heard on my phone first. I'll go flog myself now
  7. Correct. He's worse than that. Because he's a little smart, about some things. But he's not smart enough to realize how dumb he is. He foolishly thinks he's a super brain genius about literally everything. Which makes him really, really dumb. Kind of like how some of the dumbest people I've ever known have been, for example, heart surgeons. They're a genius in the operating room, know their specialty perfectly. AND....because they figured THAT out, they think that they're brilliant at everything else. So guys like me end up coming along to help clean up the horrific messes they made of their businesses, families, hospitals, car crashes, plane crashes, etc., all because they thought "I'm super smart about A, therefore I'm a super brain genius about B, C, D, E, F, G....LMNOP." The post above is Elon spouting off about fucking warfare. And taking the simplistic view of "ya got the most drones, the war is over, you won." I must have missed his degree from a service academy, his decades of combat experience, his experience in wargaming asymmetrical warfare, his training from the National War College, etc. etc. etc. Elon knows fuck about war. Shit, there are easily dozens of posters on this site who are more qualified and intelligent about warfare than Elon (and this site is a bunch of assholes and idiots). But not only does he offer opinions (hey, we all do, that's life), he offers them as a fucking end-all, be-all authority, and is treated as such by drooling fanbois. But, he thinks and says out loud that minorities are everything wrong with the world, so he's beloved by....a certain crowd. And that's that.
  8. When I make an effort to either park away from people or leave plenty of space and still come out to a nice deep door ding and gouge in my paint. Somehow in almost 40 years of life I've managed to never give any other car a door ding yet I see other dumbfucks doing it regularly with zero fucks given. It makes no difference if it's a 35 year old beater or a one of a kind vintage whatever the fuck...it's not mine so I'm not going to touch it. In summary, fuck people. They suck.
  9. Didn't we have a guy on this site who was telling us how he almost got fired for failing the phishing links stuff?
  10. non-game related but Donny Wads out as the Canes GM, sounds like he's going to be taking the role with Columbus.
  11. Teresa is toying with him and his fans. I know she renewed the trademark for the #1 already, which the #1 is run by one of the DEI VPs she fired, but I don’t see her letting this go without making Junior pay for it in some way.
  12. It is going to be a beautiful new car, and I can hardly wait to see its finished photos. Is that an original or reproduction ‘62 chrome grill? However, I sure hope it isn’t going to have a Lucas Electrics wiring harness, two six volt batteries, and non-fireproof floorboards. Guess you know what I am talking about. 😁
  13. What? You acted like game 1 starters in Omaha dominating was somehow unique to us. Thats kinda how it works. The average runs per team in game one if Omaha last year was 4. You aren’t facing many scrubs in game 1. Your lineup isn’t normally going to blow up for more than a handful of runs. We scored 8, 6, and 8 in the games we didn’t face Bednar. We weren’t dominated by pitching in that tournament. We were dominated by 1 guy who happened to be the best pitcher in the postseason.
  14. blah blah blah -- hero got to go home safely to his family, and that's what matters here. How DARE you peons question how our heroes protect themselves. THEIR lives are all that matter. Nothing else does. When will y'all get this? That's just solid policing right there. These fellas are straight shooters, with "future chief" written all over them.
  15. It would take 60 votes to overcome a filibuster in the Senate and it would have to pass the House as well. I doubt that all Dems would support it. It’s not going to happen.
  16. Alabama State transfer, former top QB recruit Dematrius Davis picks UTSA: 'I can’t wait to go back home' One of the top Texas high school quarterbacks in recent memory is headed back home to play for the Roadrunners. It's a program he's quite familiar with. CHRIS HUMMER 4 hrs ago Dematrius Davis is headed back to the Lone Star State. The Alabama State quarterback transfer, one of the most productive Texas High School football players of the last decade, committed to UTSA on Friday, he told 247Sports. Ranked as the top available quarterback in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings, Davis said going back to Texas and the coaching staff in San Antonio made the decision an easy one. Of note, UTSA associate head coach/pass game coordinator Joe Price was one of Davis' coaches at North Shore High School in Houston. "It's Texas," Davis told 247Sports. "I can't wait to go back home. Coach (Jeff) Traylor and Coach Price, I really believe in what they have going on, getting that 2021 and 2022 championships. I really feel like this is the type of program to build me for the next level, maybe be a coach someday or really just build me for life. I don't think I should go anywhere else." Davis began his career at Auburn as a four-star recruit following a decorated high school career, which included a pair of 6-A state championships and arguably the most famous Hail Mary in Texas high school football history. He spent only a year on The Plains, choosing to leave the program a few months after it fired Gus Malzahn. Davis played the last two years at Alabama State, emerging as a starter in 2022 and 2023, though a meniscus injury limited him to just four games this past season. Fully healthy again, Davis is looking to reset in San Antonio, where he'll compete for a starting quarterback job vacated by UTSA's all-time leading passer Frank Harris. "I'm so excited," Davis said. "I've seen all the things Frank has done. I talked to him about a week or two ago. All the things he's told me, I'm just getting excited. I can't wait. ... I just got to come in and do my part and earn the guys' trust and everything. I feel like I'm going to make some crazy plays." Davis completed 68.9% of his passes during the 2023 season, jumping considerably from his 59.5% rate in 2022. Now, Davis enters a UTSA system that's help produce a combined 32 wins over the last three seasons. There will be plenty of familiarity for Davis, too. In addition to Price, the Roadrunners will have three other North Shore graduates on their roster in 2024. That group includes David Amador, who caught passes from Davis back in the day. "I have a deep trust (there)," Davis said. "I have former teammates that are also over there. I've been talking to them and reaching out to them. They're loving it. David Amador, who was my receiver in high school, he's loving it. I just can't wait to get there with him and throw with all those others guys." The 5-foot-11, 193-pound Davis ranked as the No. 211 overall player in the country from the 2021 class. He picked Auburn over Virginia Tech.
  17. As we honor Memorial Day this weekend and begin the summer, please know you are richer, aged like fine wine this year, and more successful than you have ever been in your life. 401(k) millionaires surged 43% in the past year, https://www.marketwatch.com/story/401-k-millionaires-surged-43-in-the-past-year-heres-how-long-it-took-them-to-reach-1-million-e39c146f.
  18. The NIL era started in 2021. The portal era started in 2018. So your evidence of our “plateau” is 3 seasons of baseball, one we played in Omaha, one we played in a Super, the other isn’t over yet? And you just ignore our portal haul for this season that addressed several holes in this roster hit injuries derailed.
  19. Yeah, that isn't going to go well. Chaos might as well be listed as the main character in this show.
  20. Your wife is going to kill you. You're going to wind up smelling like a Water Buffalo with an ass-infection.
  21. The modern NIL/Portal era was 2021.....the further we get the more we are going to regress. Especially once Pierce has to face SEC conference schedule.
  22. Don't sleep on pork-belly burnt ends either. Just cube it up, toss them in rub, and get after it. Smoke for a few hours, then cover and slop them up. If you want to go super-simple: butter, brown sugar, and sweet baby rays. Meat candy.
  23. HISD had its budget workshop yesterday, it is livestreamed to YouTube. A couple of take-aways: They decided to move the meeting up to 4 PM due to the number of speakers that have been showing up for their 60 seconds (an impossibly short time to talk about budget concerns) in order to limit the number of active participants (during school hours) and to try to get out of there early. With 200+ people regularly showing up pissed off, they just sit through it emotionless and often checked out until the end. Yesterday, one of the HISD board members started laughing as the last speaker started calling them out for being complicit in the corruption. Here is their presentation materials. The finance guy (Jim Terry) gets up there and starts talking about utter nonsense and generic statements about commitment to quality education but never goes into details what that means (because it is to lull people to sleep before he gets to the numbers, IMO). He talks about the potential taxable property value and exemptions as if this is relevant. Never getting to the point of what money is being allocated to HISD from property taxes of residents and what is being siphoned off (he did talk about how RobinHood took 1.1 billion from HISD in 2016-2017, but how is this fucking relevant?). He harps on about attendance and how attendance is linked to achievement, then shows a figure that indicates attendance is nearly 93%. Is he attempting to blame residents for this? Is this low? No follow up or context. He then makes a suggestion that May 5th 2023 was the perfect representation of student attendance and that should be the day in which the future budget should be based. Not some averaging which might make more sense. He is clearly a big thinker. He surprisingly shows something about how poorly funded Texas schools are relative to the nation and is completely tone deaf as to why and who created this. He remarked about other school districts also having funding issues, again without point to the cause. He talks about the decreasing enrollment in HISD schools by approximately 4000 students from last year. No context as to why provided. I know of families that have kids in SPED programs that left. They left in response to the shitty support service they were getting. As a reminder Miles fired the Autism Specialists in the district, 1 week before the start of the school year. The finance guy finally gets to the budget. From what I can tell, nearly 20% is going to administrative overhead but it is partitioned in smaller groups. There are facilities, food, bussing service included, but also nearly 77 million dollars put into something called "Payments to Tax Increments Fund" which from a quick google search appeared to be an HISD fund set up to build up infrastructure or development. Here is an older document which also talks about the threshold for how HISD is bound to this shitty agreement. There is one more thing to think about. With all of the decreasing enrollment (they harped on 14% over the past few years) why are class sizes getting larger? Ill stop here.
  24. Well NIL and portal started in different years. So have we been plateauing since 2018 or since 2021? Again all you do is just say “nope not working”.
  25. I do. I do indeed. Most every person who we can look back on and easily categorize as "flat out fucking evil" were also the types who would "give up their lives in a second for those they love," and generally had a household "full of warmth and love." Yep. The people who planned, built, and operated the Nazi machinery of death, for example, mostly fit that description. Loving yourself and yours? Cool. How do you feel about OTHER human beings, who aren't part of your "in group?" If you're okay with them suffering immensely -- in fact, you even fucking CHEER FOR IT (that's what MAGAs do) -- then sorry, you're fucking evil. That's the whole fucking problem here. Stop excusing evil people because they are nice to their kids and shit.
