Did this actually happen?  I know we didn't have a spring game.  But don't recall hearing this until fairly recently.

If so, it may go a long way to explaining why Sark thinks he has a better team than he's got, and maybe also why the team isn't that good in the first place.

Here is Sark in his own words explaining the changes to our roster/staff and the changes he implemented in the spring to our practices and so on and why:

That says the same amount of practices just a different approach to field versus film. The way you worded it before was not practicing at all which is way different.

I'll never understand fans that don't understand the way coaches talk to media and the way they talk behind closed doors is night and day.   It's truly fascinating people that allegedly follow sports can't comprehend this yet after every loss there are people that lose their mind at the press conference.   Does anyone think that the leaked Bo Davis rant that is (rightfully) praised would ever be said publicly LOL.

You look over there at the opposing point of view with such great points and it just scares ya to death.

He also wasn't asked. He opened it himself. A very look at me stupid fucking bullshit thing to do.

That ignores the outside noise, no? The most recent comment from Sark on his future had multiple reasons as to why he wanted to speak on the issue. One of those being the guys on the roster are being poked at from other programs.

Sark is at a point with all this stuff that it has become a damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Nothing he says or even not willing to speak on is going to please the fan base right now.

Reading comprehension and quoting posts is hard.

There was no spring game, the style and number of practice was altered and greatly reduced. I don't remember anyone at any point, particularly the person you are quoting, saying anything about not practicing at all. But please, by all means, keep illustrating your inability to comprehend words on a screen.

There ain’t no damn way the roster is $40 million, that’s a shit estimate. It might be expensive but it ain’t no where near those estimates. I’d believe $15-$20 mill.

It was stupid when he said it, but it became much more realistic when everything shook out the way it did. Revshare by itself is your number and TOF didn't go away...

Lmao that you think the roster isn't getting poked at regardless of any of this. I swear you guys are hilarious with your narratives. Sark did it for selfish reasons. His behavior as of late is screaming ME ME ME ME ME ME.

He thinks he's bigger than the program. He's wrong.

I dunno but Kirk and Bowls and Herbstreit are the only opinions that matter.. or they are worthless. I do know Kirk and Kirby get along, so you know what that means!

reminds me of Mack wanting to be a power run game after the lost NC to bama.  Sarks makes B2B CFP and he changes what's working for him.

This would have been WAY worse IMO.  Everyone (including every staff in the country trying to poach Texas players and recruits) would have taken that as gospel Sark is trying to GTFO ASAP.  Just admit you are pissed and there isn't a single thing Sark can say or can't say you will agree with.

I’m not ignorant to the notion that rosters aren’t being inquired by other programs. There’s a difference between programs poaching rosters with a coach leaving/fired than a coach staying. Those are two completely different angles of attack with one being helluva lot easier in terms of having success. If Sark had said almost nothing from the moment the first report on his future came out before Miss st to now, the fans base would screaming for some type of statement from Sark.

You know what's way better? Talking shit to other coaches who are soft after you blow their shit out for the 3rd time in a calendar year. That's how you keep players and a locker room.

He's battling for the locker room in public. He's not giving off a man with confidence in the direction or his players. He looks and sounds like a scared bitch who is more concerned about what people think and protecting what's going on in the 4 walls than he is about getting these guys so ready that it won't fucking matter what people think cuz they are gonna love it and think the team is awesome.

LOL.... the number of practices was not reduced. The number of "contact periods" during practice were reduced and altered.

From a football perspective, the spring game is a joke and only for the fans.

One other aspect was seen as a positive for Texas. Instead of two-spotting, which is best described as running two practices at once, Texas elected to just one spot for most of the spring. Coaches and players honed in on technique in the opportunities, with younger players getting the chance to watch how older players did things. When some of the more veteran players were kept out, that gave reps to the younger players. But because of the difference in structure related to how often the program practiced with contact, players nursing ailments of any sort could still get reps in without major risk of reinjury.

In hindsight, that seems like a huge mistake.

But it may be evidence that Sark thought he had his machine finely tuned and ready to rock, with injury avoidance a priority.  Obviously in error, and maybe/probably a contributing cause.

I think if they put the offensive line on film in a spring game they couldn't deny that everything is fine to others.

Watching this video from before the season, it’s clear Sark is not in the same place he was a few months ago. There is a darkness to him that is bubbling up to the surface and it’s showing more and more after each poor performance by the team.

Also in this interview it seems like a bitch move for Sark go for a walk immediately after practice and tell people not to contact him for an hour or more until after his walk is done. For $11M a year, he needs to be available to everyone 24/7. The best time to ask questions is right after a meeting while things are fresh on the mind.
