This was the high point until the Twin Suns episode [disclaimer: I’m the type of Star Wars nerd who appreciates Jedi and lightsabers]

Agree...I mean I still have Twilight of the Apprentice as the highlight until Andor(still might honestly) but Twin Suns is amazing. The build up and the, honestly, very quick end was just so fucking perfect.

I still remember people bitching about how quick it was...they wanted some huge ass fight.

And I'm like nah...it's perfect.  A calm and resolute Obi-Wan...and a chaotic and still angry Maul?  That's how a real duel would end.

We have said that many times before. The barrier to entry for a lot of people is that it is an animated series. Once they get past that bias, they can let it in and it clicks.

Exactly...just give it a shot.

Not really. You can skip live action Ahsoka. It comes after Rebels and it sucks.

Nah it's not that bad. It's not nearly on the level of Rebels but it's not horrible.

it's not awful, but it ain't good either

And there are subtle details in that very brief fight that betray the depth, where Obi-Wan starts in his old stance, gets Maul to prepare his attack, then shifts to his NEW stance. Maul then attacks the way he always has, and Kenobi can EASILY defeat it. It shows how Maul refused to grow, while Kenobi did.

Ahsoka was fine. Nowhere near Andor, but I still enjoyed the content and am not angry they made it (like say, most of the sequel trilogy or Acolyte). It will be interesting to see how the Mando movie and Ahsoka S2 weave their stories (Thrawn, Moff Gideon, what happened to Ahsoka, Grogu, and Ezra prior to Ep. 7) into the First Order era.

People are going to be annoyed by everything going forward if they keep using Andor as the standard when Star Wars has been more like Ahsoka than Andor for most of its existence.

Watching Andor makes you realize how much Ahsoka was missing. I think Filoni needs more help as a director.

Filoni has always been a storyteller more than anything...it's why he's the spiritual successor to Lucas. Lucas basically handed it to him in Clone Wars and that's why certain characters get better treatment than others. And I'm glad he did.

But he does need a Director to focus things...that's clear.

Exactly.  Andor is great. But I can see some thinking it's a little too much of one thing when star wars isn't quite always that(and I wish it were a bit more like that honestly)
