OL was probably better, but that is it. The defense was light out. Big difference being the 2nd/3rd WR. Saying a QB needs to have 3 NFL WRs to be a great college QB is not a serious argument in my opinion. Its really rare for college QBs to get that luxury, unless you play QB at OSU recently. There are not a lot of QBs last year that had equal or more talent.

True. But I'm really thinking about WR play in terms of its relevance to comparing '23 Ewers and '24 Ewers, rather than comparing Ewers to other QBs.

Not like this was a bad or even a mediocre WR room. I'd bet we will look back at 24 and say he was throwing to 3 NFL talents. It was a downgrade from what was a historic Texas level, but still at a level that would make 95% or more of college Qbs jealous.

Sure, but you could also argue that more than a few times Wingo and Moore killed drives with mistakes.  Moore almost gifted Clemson a game changing pick 6.  Wingo didn't breakoff his route versus Vandy which lead to a sack and us settling for a FG.

i can go over Ewer's miscues but let's focus on Moore dropping a ball where he was staring directly into the sun. This implies Worthy  Worthy never dropped a ball.

Quick note on Quinn with the Dolphins - McDaniel stated that Wilson is the #2 and Quinn #3 the other day, but that Quinn was "doing what he was supposed to do."

It also sounds like Tua will get zero reps in the preseason games so it's up to Quinn to produce (and not get injured).

I’m just pointing out that young talent generally makes mistakes compared to 3rd year players.  You saw a similar dropoff in 2009 when Colt no longer had Cosby and Collins.  Cosby wasn’t even drafted, but our 2009 offense would have been a great deal better if he hadn’t run out of eligibility.
